Because that tiny balance remained, the lender back-charged the full interest (35%+) on the entire original amount, not just the leftover balance--adding over $1,600 in interest. When I called Laser Away, I was told it wasn't their problem and to take it up with the lender. Sorry, but if you're promoting a lender inside your sales process and benefiting from that relationship, you don't get to shrug when customers are harmed by the terms you pitched. The sales rep did not clearly disclose that failing to pay every last dollar before the promo deadline would trigger retroactive interest on the whole loan. Calling it "0% interest" without emphasizing "deferred" and the consequences is, at best, misleading--and at worst, predatory. Bottom line: Treatments? Fine. Financing? Proceed with extreme caution. The laser hair treatment is a scam. For the cost and treatment duration of around 6-9 months you would expect to be hairless. I was reported to be a "perfect candidate" with light skin and dark hair. After completing all the procedures I have hair in ALL areas that were treated legs/arms/bikini/etc and I barely notice any thinning or difference in my hair from beforehand. i would never normally complain like this but since day 1 of being a customer at the Carlsbad location ive been extremely unhappy and have spent thousands of wasted dollars here... 1 don't even go here but 2 if you do, make sure you negotiate before because they completely rip you off.. they actually have multiple class action lawsuits against them for this exact reason. I apparently got "70% off" and still paid 3600$ for 8 sessions for under arm, brazilian and lower legs and was told if i hung up the phone i wouldn't get that same offer again, meanwhile my friend called a few days later and got all of that for 2500$ plus a 2 free facials and she still even felt ripped off.. she said they did the facials with her make up still on and was out in 5 minutes. so obviously it started off with my whole sales pitch, she was very snotty, i felt rushed and couldn't even ask questions without her making me feel dumb and i was clearly completely lied to as well. secondly, when i explained to one of the receptionist that i was upset by this, she pulled up my friends account and told me private information about her file which is a HIPAA violation and made me very uncomfortable with how they handle private information and my friend was extremely mad about this as well. and AGAIN i was lied too.. the receptionist told me she got money off because she had "points" which was untrue because my friend even told me that's not why she did. plus even for myself, i was told was that after 1 year your "points" expire (mind you, you have no access yourself to these points, they just make it up behind their computer screen) yet when i called to make my last appointment because i had 1 more session left i was told "oh! you have hundreds of dollars in your account right now" trying to get me to buy more... but it was over a year? weren't they supposed to expire? third, the worst part is that the services alone have been horrible. the nurses more than half of the sessions never even chalked my areas leaving my results uneven and spotty. i even asked 3 times to the ladies in the front to please make sure they chalk me and do a quality job and it still continued to not happen. another lie i was told was that "shaving promotes hair growth" i'm a hairstylist that is completely untrue, again just showing how untrained these nurses are. my second to last appointment the nurse didnt even finish doing my whole bottom of armpit and then my brazilian she went so fast and missed like every other spot and just completely just missed my bikini line. i timed my appointment and i was out in 7 minutes, clearly they are not doing an efficient job in that time matter. if at least the services/results were good i would be able to let this go but the fact that i've been highly ripped off, treated rudely, lied to, crossed HIPAA violation and im still having to go somewhere else for more sessions cause they failed to do it correctly i feel like this is necessary.. i recommend Proof Aesthetics in the village of carlsbad or even driving to La jolla at SEV is worth it then coming here... they give you the prices up front and are honest. read more

For a facility called, "laser away" one would expect the best experience possible when it comes to laser treatments. Prior to receiving treatments at laser away, I went to a different med spa where subcutaneous lidocaine was administered prior to treatment. This resulted in a nearly painless experience. Because LaserAway was offering tattoo removal packages for a good deal, I decided to change facilities. I never imagined that a company which markets itself as a go-to destination for laser treatments would not offer the best in terms of pain management as standard. Unfortunately I was wrong... Laser Away only offers a topical "numbing" cream, which I am really not sure makes any difference in terms of pain management. While thankfully short, the laser treatments I've experienced at Laser Away are excruciatingly painful. I have now endured 3 treatments at Laser Away because I purchased a package, but to be honest I'm not sure how many more times I can put myself through this when other facilities can provide the same service but with far more pain management. It just seems crazy to me that a place called "Laser Away" would not offer clients the absolute best option available for a comfortable experience. Everyone who works there is nice and professional but I just can't recommend anyone receive tattoo removal treatments here as there's no reason it needs to be this uncomfortable or painful. read more

I've been coming here to get hair removed since last year and I ordered 8 sessions. It has honestly been the best thing to do, because I don't have to shave anymore. The hair grows back so fine in between each session that there isn't much to shave before your appointment. I recently started doing their laser facials, Clear and Brilliant and I love the results. My face feels so smooth and so radiant after a few days. I ordered the package of 12 and look forward to getting one every month. The staff here are always so nice and kind and I love how the RNs are always so focused and quick, while still being very friendly and helpful. Once I'm done with my laser hair removal, I might try to remove more hair on other parts of my body. For now, my under arms and brazilian area are covered! read more

This is my 7/8 treatment and my first time coming to the Carlsbad location. I'm down here for the weekend and normally go to the LA location. The front desk people were amazing, hence the 2 stars versus one. Anyway, SHELBY, the nurse technician, is just about the WORST technician I've ever had. She was skipping about 40% of my skin and extremely spacing out each zap. Considering I bought a $4k package, I don't appreciate someone going at a speed of lightning and not being cautious enough to get every single section. If you come here, make sure to specify to not get Shelby as your nurse. Truly horrendous and lazy. You'll notice many many patches of hair growing back at full length because she doesn't even get it all. In fact, my skin is super sensitive and every single zap leaves a mark for about 20 mins. Here's a photo showing you just how SPACY of a job she did. I circled all the gaps. My happy trail and vagina were legit done in 1.5 minutes and were even WORSE. When I tried to politely correct her, she snapped and said "want me to get another nurse for you?" and walked out without me even really responding. Truly a foolish, rude, and lazy worker. Please Be careful. This office is simply a High Pressured Sales Office. The RNs are young, adorable and do a good job with Botox and Clear & Brilliant, Hair removal . No MD on site or distant so No Medical oversight. The Customer Service is the Major problem. If you have the slightest issue with a charge, service or product they are advised to throw you to the curb in a shockingly RUDE way. As others have mentioned they will say "We will call Corporate for you". There really is NO Corporate and no one will call and help in any way. They don't care and will purposely give the run around to frustrate you to go away. In addition, they know your number when you call. If there is an issue with anything like I did (allergic reaction), the sales person if at the front desk, will literally not answer the phone when you call. YES, it is that BAD at this location. It was not always this bad and has only become so in the past 1 1/2 years. I have spent thousands of dollars and treated worse than any place I've done business. I am treated like a problem for requesting a refund due to an Allergic reaction. As others have reported, Cringe. If this terrible service were anywhere else the employees this rude would be fired. Disclaimer- Not all of the employees are Rude....a few are sweet and doing their best. FYI, no other offices treat you this way. I want to make an important update to a post I made a couple of years ago where I went INNNN on Laser Away's tattoo removal with a scathing post. I would like to rescind my previous criticisms, and admit that I was wrong. After my first tattoo removal session, my technician (truthfully and brilliantly) advised me that the longer I wait between treatments, the better my results would be, and the farther my money would stretch. She explained that each treatment is most effective with a lot of time between sessions because it allows the ink to metabolize sufficiently, and that it is NOT advised to schedule your next appointment immediately/as soon as you're able to. I didn't believe her. My impatient, conspiratorial ass thought it was a gig to hide its inefficacy. So, of course...I did 13 treatments in the shortest amount of time possible. The exact *opposite* of what experts in this field advised me to do. So, what do you know?? My results weren't good. Shocking! My last tattoo removal session was in 2016. That is when I posted my last picture. This is a picture of my tattoo today, in January 2023. Safe to say...it metabolized!!! Waiting between treatments is not a conspiracy (lol)! Just like they said...TIME has always been the key. And I can only imagine how well-removed my tattoo would be today if I had listened to what they told me to do *at all.* Laser Away's tattoo removal is legit. Stay away from LaserAway for tattoo removal. I paid one thousand dollars to have them remove a dime sized tattoo. Ten sessions and a year and a half later it is only about 60% removed. Please understand that each of these 10 sessions lasted between 10 and 15 seconds. Averaging that out means I was under the laser for a grand total of approximately 2 minutes after the 10 sessions. That's a total of two minutes of laser treatment for 1k. Even if they had removed the dime sized tattoo that would be pricey. But, it's not even close to removed. At the last several sessions I began to express my concerns that the tattoo wasn't going to be removed or even close to it. Two different techs that were handling the laser treatment agreed and both said not to worry because the company would take care of me and make it right. I thought that was only fair after having spent a thousand dollars for two minutes worth of laser treatments. So, I was optimistic. But it was a rude awakening when someone from corporate rudely and smugly offered me something like a 20-25% discount if I would give them more money and sign up for more treatments. Now why in the world would anyone in my position be expected to shell out more money when I had already paid a thousand dollars for the removal of a dime sized tattoo???? Thanks but no thanks! I can't comment on the effectiveness of the various other services this company offers, but one should look elsewhere for tattoo removal.
