The young man who came listened to the noise and stared at the water heater for several minutes. I lost confidence in him after about 5 minutes and he finally admitted he had no clue.After looking at YouTube, I discovered there were several courses of action he could have taken. He made some suggestions but said he didn't know if they would do any good. Based on his lack of knowledge we decided to take no action. Before he left I asked him if he could turn the w h temp down and said he would have to go down to his truck to get a screw driver( we are in a high rise) I was surprised he would make a service call without tools. When he came back it took about 3 minutes to adjust the temp and 1 minute to give me a bill for $148 to be paid in cash or pay a service fee for using a credit card.(another service fee and $100 for a 2 minute turn of the screw driver. All in all, I was left with the feeling that I was totally screwed.

He attempted to fix it, said it was repaired, and then left our home. Before leaving, he also gave us written instructions on what to do if the water heater started leaking again. About 13 minutes after he left, the entire unit began leaking heavily and flooded our laundry room and garage. A technician should never leave a home with a newly installed unit that was already leaking during installation. If the unit was defective, it should have been replaced or shut off before leaving. The flooding required professional remediation and repairs. The company's insurance carrier ultimately accepted liability and paid for the damage, but the situation should never have happened in the first place. We also requested installation documentation during the claim process and had difficulty obtaining it. Very disappointing experience.

Mansplained my theory was wrong and it was the water valve pulling water from the tank. 5 minutes after he left it started running again. Visit 2: Explained to my partner someone replaced the handle at some point to our $1,500 toilet with an after market one, so he made created his own handle. After he left I tested it, his creation was too long for the inside of the toilet and the flapper now got hung up on his creation. He told the owner he tested before he left, but pictures speak for themselves. Visit 3: Called an hour late saying he would be there in 5 minutes. I told him he was an hour late and we were headed out the door. He has attitude I was wrong. Sent him a screen shot of schedule text and he apologized. Pulled manual confirmed my theory of the issue, hired new plumber.
