The porchetta sandwich. The cracklings on top were a nice touch.

Excellent sandwich with lots of meat. The box they serve it in is a little messy. I would rather have a paper wrapper or a plate.

One of my ALL TIME favorite sandwich places to go!!! Unfortunately I can't find it in Florida but ever time I'm in Calgary, It's my first spot and the last place I go to. The porchetta sandwich is AMAZING. You cannot go there and not try it. Ask for a little extra crackling Until next time Meat and Bread!

Have gone back a few more times and try more of their sandwiches and none have disappointed. Meatball Sub was delicious! Buffalo Chicken was great too but a little messy. Staff always quick and friendly!

Read about this online, so once I got the go ahead to go to Calgary this was high on my list. Unfortunately work got in the way so I did't get to go here until about 10 mins before I had to call a cab. I got the porchetta sandy and it was as described, beautifully made and wonderfully flavorful. So glad I got to go, and will return here for sure.

    One bite taken....so good!

Traveling for work and needed something easy, and quick. Checked Yelp and noticed this place was #1 in my search and close proximity to my hotel. Simple setup, super quick service, and a tasty light meal! My son, a huge fan of all thing buffalo chicken, would love their Buffalo Chicken sandwich! The bread was amazing, sauce not too spicy, and the chicken was a nice mix of white and dark meat! So good!

    Fat sandwich anyone?!?

My first experience with Meat and Bread was pretty disappointing. I had walked by the shop, and saw what looked like a delicious, juicy porchetta sitting in the window...its crispy skin glistening in the window. I couldn't wait to try it! What I got instead was a major letdown. The Porchetta was gross and fatty. You can see from the photo how much fat I cut off the pork - and that wasn't all of it. The cracklings did not crack at all - they were soggy and flavourless. The only redeeming quality of this sandwich was the yummy, fluffy Ciabatta loaf - props to Corbeaux on that! Sorry Meat and Bread - I won't be back.

LOVE IT! I've always wanted to go to the one in Vancouver but never got around to it so imagine my excitement when they opened up in Calgary! I've only been there twice, and I've only had their porchetta sandwich and salads. However, I like what I tasted. I love that the porchetta sandwich has a combination of lean meat, fat, and cracklings. The flavor profile of the meat is off the charts! The bread and the condiments makes it a pretty tasty sandwich. Price point can be a tad lower but that will not deter me from returning. Since I'm so in love with the porchetta sandwich I'm not sure if I will ever try anything else... Very friendly and efficient service too!

I met a girlfriend for lunch here after hearing our friends' excitement that their fave sammie shop from Van was finally in town. Thankfully we didn't let the long line up deter us, as it moved pretty quick. You have your choices from four sandwiches, the daily soup or the daily salad. No added bells and whistles, simple and efficient. Assembly line for the win! We managed to snag a couple seats by the window and prepared ourselves to experience what would eventually be one of the best sandwiches we've had. I went with the Porchetta - pork topped with salsa verde and crackling. My GF got the Buffalo Chicken - shredded chicken tossed in hot sauce and topped with slaw and ranch dressing. Both had great flavors and textures! I wish mine had a tad more crackling to have a bit more crunch. And if you're going with the Buffalo Chicken, make sure to grab a couple extra napkins as it gets messy! For about $10, you get fresh quality sandwiches, which I think can be hard to come by when you're downtown. Check them out, you may find your new fave lunch spot :)

The soup was warm and inviting with real beef. But, the real highlight was the mac and cheese: extra creamy made with real cheddar cheese and topped with buttery homemade croutons. For the portions provided, $10 is more than fair for well-prepared comfort food!

They offer two fresh soups every day which are clearly not canned and made from scratch. They also offer a different special every day of the week that can be supplemented with a salad or a small soup. These specials range from clubhouse sandwiches, to spring roll on vermicelli, to mac n' cheese (scratch made). One of my go-to places for lunches and as a soup connoisseur they are able to beat out most places by providing homemade soups instead of the typical generic Campbell's stuff you find in most delis. One thing I would like is for them to switch up and try their hand at making other soups because I have been here so many times the soups are getting slightly old (but still tastier and better value than Sunterra) TLDR: Soups good, specials can be good, sandwiches fresh, salad available.

This place could really curb my meat craving and it checks ALL of the boxes- great service, cool vibes, and delicious food. I LOVE that they have half servings and that everything is can easily be shared. I mean a non-Asian restaurant which encourages family style?!? SOLD! I had the half order of marinated beets with ghanoush, salted ricotta, and cured zucchini. The waiter had recommended the eggplant and broccolini which I'm dying to try the next time I'm in town. I enjoyed the tuna crudo but I wish I got the seared scallops. My half order of gigli pasta was wonderful and more than enough food. Every bit is equally seasoned and I actually had some leftovers! The value of what you get versus what you pay is in our favor by a landslide. And when converting it from CAD to USD, I feel like I won the lottery. I need to go back with others to try more dishes!! This place gets packed so make a reservation in advance if you can.

Traditional Lan Zhou Hand Pulled Noodle since 1915. Place your order via kiosk. Easy to navigate. The female employee helped us answer questions. Coincidentally, our order number was 888. I selected Hand Pulled Noodle in Beef Soup with flat and wide noodles. Female employee asked me if I would like chili oil on the side. Hard to resist. I'm happy I accepted the offer because the chili oil tasted very fresh and added some spice and depth to the soup. Absolutely comforting and satisfying with and without chili oil. Same employee was very kind, thoughtful and forward thinking to ask if I would like the Deep Fried Steamed Bun with condensed milk now or toward the end of my meal. I responded, "At the end of my meal, please." Pillowy soft on inside, heat hot in its entirety, with slight crunch on outside. Dessert complemented condensed milk. Highly recommend. Free parking. Worth visiting and returning.

It was a pleasant surprise to partake of Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles which were like silk! Tons of lamb choices. I'm always down for lamb and I was in my element. My lamb noodle dish had those "curtain noodles" with tons of vegetables and highly seasoned lamb - cumin and chili - 100% Northern Chinese. So delicious. Spouse had a lovely braised beef soup with thin noodles, scented with five-spice My only minor criticism is that my lamb noodles were a tad oily. Portions are large, prices are what they are these days. Highly recommend!
