Update for new location. The Steak Frite sandwich is arguably one of the best sanny's in town. Wait times can be a little long over the lunch hour but the food is absolutely worth it every time.

I've been here a few times now and all of my visits have been excellent. The potato crisps are like crack. They're made fresh to order so they're warm, crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. I could almost just have a couple orders of them and skip the sandwiches. That being said, the sandwiches really can't be skipped. They're huge and delicious. Some are messier than others so grab a few extra napkins. The first time I came in the owner gave my wife and I the full run down and was very helpful in our ordering. Subsequent visits have been just as friendly. My only complaint is that they were hard to find the first time. They're on the NW corner of the CO-OP so you can't really see them when driving around the parking lot. They're hidden down the lane between CO-OP and the bank.

Great food, great service...when you deserve the best, "Around the Bend" shines.

This is a hidden gem, the pretzels, sandwiches, potato crisps and milkshakes are devine. If you haven't eaten here yet, now is the time to come on over, you will love it. Special requests are accommodated.

Great little place tucked away in the SE. Had the Greek Twist and my bf had the Southwestern pretzel sandwich. If you love garlic, I highly recommend the Greek twist! The tzaztiki is homemade with love, I might add. The southwestern was stacked high with lots fresh ingredients. Highly recommend! Will be back to try the pretzels!

My wife loves her pretzels and this place meets her expert opinion on pretzel eating as a great place to get a pretzel. Staff was awesome and completely explained the whole menu as they asked if it was our first time. We will return for sure as it's affordable and they make everything fresh in house including their sauces and meats for sandwiches.

15 bucks for an incredible lunch. One the best sandwiches I've ever had. This place is a gem. Never busy, pretty quick. Clean and friendly

The food experience that is Calgary continues. My brother loves this place so we decided to go here…read moresince it was close by. He says that this might be the best sandwich place in the city. We came to the store to order. and you know the service is top notch. The owner is very friendly and there is a warm ambiance about the place. On to the food, My brother order a chicken parm subs and say his sub was excellent as always. I ended up getting two subs. One was the meatball sub which was exceptional. The meatballs were well seasoned and were larger than my mom made when she was alive. the buns were toasted to perfection crunchy but not burnt. They had just enough sauce and cheese to compliment the sub but not overpower it . i also got a turkey pesto sub which had a lot of meat and cheese. This was very good and if i come back to Calgary i will definitely come back.

Now this is how you make a sandwich! There's such a thrill in finding incredible local eats. I'm…read morenot usually a big sandwich person, but a good foodie friend of mine said they heard the hype about Scozzafava's so I went along. No regrets. If you didn't know about this spot, you might easily pass by without a second glance. Scozzafava's serves up authentic, classic Italian sandwiches that just slap. They use a soft sesame seed bun, which probably is the most unique part of the sandwich. For their marinara sandwiches, I wish they used a thicker bun to better absorb all the sauce. The sesame bun didn't keep its integrity, sadly. The meatball marinara was glorious! Slightly spicy, super moist meatballs, slightly sweet marinara, and perfectly paired with bitterness of the rapini. Don't forget the cheese pull! We also grabbed the classic Italian deli, which was scrumptious and very filling. You can't go wrong with either option, in my opinion.

Aloha Modern Kitchen - A Taste of the Islands Right Here in Calgary!…read more I've been meaning to check out Aloha Modern Kitchen for quite some time, and I finally had the chance to visit this past Sunday evening. Let me just say--it was well worth the wait! We ordered the Maui Ribs, Loco Moco, Charred Broccolini, and a few cocktails to round out the evening. As someone who's had my fair share of Loco Moco in Hawaii (it's my go-to breakfast item whenever I visit the islands), I was extremely excited to try it here in Calgary. To my amazement, Aloha's version did not disappoint--the Loco Moco and Maui Ribs were absolutely incredible! Packed with flavor, perfectly juicy, and cooked to perfection. I couldn't stop raving about it, and my guest was equally impressed. If you're looking for an authentic taste of the islands without hopping on a plane, I highly recommend dining at Aloha Modern Kitchen. It's a little slice of Hawaii right in the city.

The owner says he prides himself after training under the chef of Tin Roof Maui. I've been to Tin…read moreRoof Maui many times over the years. So here we go: We came for Lunch at The Aloha Modern Kitchen for all the raving reviews on line. Aloha Modern Kitchen food has a different flavour in food by far, not in a bad way at all it's not what we are use to in Hawaii. I know we are land locked as well as we can't get most of the Hawaiian spices as well as Aloha Soy. I wanted to so try the poke, but we have been spoiled with fresh fish in Hawaii. I didn't want to be let down with not fresh or frozen fish. Instead ordered appetizer of one Spam Musubi and the main was Mochiko Chicken plate lunch comes with 2 scoops rice and a small spoon of Mac salad and a Mochiko Chicken sandwich with fresh cut fries. Let's start with the Musubi with spam. Was very sweet and didn't taste anything like in Hawaii. Understand Aloha soy is not available in Canada, still tasted good was over priced for the small size at $6.00 for one cut at an angle. The two cheapest ingredients rice sprinkled with Nori and spam put together with soy and dried seaweed. It was small compared to what we get in Hawaii. Now the plate lunch, the Mochiko chicken was crispy and tender with just enough spice, rice beautifully cooked Hawaiian Mac Salad no flavour.$18.00 Mochiko Chicken sandwich was nicely presented with home cut fries chicken crispy and tenter very flavourful $21.00 Ordered one drink Lava Flow over priced for a martini glass that it came in at $15.00. Where we are use to a good size glass again in Hawaii. (I know I say this a lot) I'm not complaining by any means we are so use to the food in Hawaii and to try Hawaiian food in Canada just isn't the same. Still it's a nice treat!! I gave this place 5 star because it made it with ingredients they were able to get and worked with what they were given to give a close taste of Hawaiian food. All in all the food tasted good. -The service was wonderful -inside very clean and had the Hawaiian vibe -washroom very clean with a Hawaiian vibe. -parking is pay parking very limited first hour free. Will at some point go here for dinner.
