I guess it really depends on how much you like vegan or vegetarian food. Well I am so so. I came here because I had a friend from Vancouver come over to visit me and she is a vegetarian. I don't know a lot of vegetarian places in Calgary. So the three of us (my sister, Yelper P and myself), decided to give this place a try. My sister and I, shared the vegan benedict. I do like the mushroom in the benedict. We had potatoes on the side and they were ok. The food was slightly on the salty side. Yelper P seemed to like her food. We were also given free sample drinks to try. It was ginger, cucumber drink with an interesting kick. They were served in shot glass. We came on a Sunday morning and it seemed quite quiet. There was only 2 other tables occupied before noon. After noon a few more people showed up. Getting a table was not difficult and of course no wait.

Really cute place in a safe and touristy shopping area. Free on street parking after 6 pm on Saturdays. We ordered the mushroom bacon sushi (excellent), the crispy Brussels sprouts (excellent x 10), the cauliflower (I thought it was pretty good but it was my husband's favorite), the roasted potatoes (excellent!), and the drunken noodles. I didn't like the drunken noodles, but my husband did. They were fresh and flavorful but not really my thing. I also got the blueberry yuzu cider which I loved. The service was good, the atmosphere was very chill. All genders bathrooms, thank god! Would go here again.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Creative, delicious vegetarian/vegan food and cocktails with great service and ambiance. For our last night in Calgary we wanted a pretty nice dinner. Yelp gave us several suggestions but this place went right to the top of the list because it was vegetarian/vegan and had such good reviews. We made reservations, which was a good thing because the place isn't very large and was packed. It had that retro-mod but slightly rustic look with lots of wood and plants, which was stylish yet still friendly and cozy. They also had a live DJ spinning some loungey electronic music, which was a nice touch. We got seated at one of the tall communal tables by the windows, which turned out to be a good place to see what's going on in the resto as well as the outside. We started out with a couple of cocktails, which turned out to be really well-made and delicious. Then we chose a variety of items from the menu to share--everything was really great, with just a minor quibble with a sushi roll's rice being a little too al dente. It was really exciting for the bf to know that he could order anything on the menu. For the record, everything is vegetarian, but not necessarily vegan, but they can make a lot of the items vegan so there is that. The meal and service were wonderful. I think this place is a must-visit in Calgary for any vegetarian or vegan (or even an omnivore who just likes tasty food).

Tempeh Shawarma was excellent. And so was hot pot. Although hot pot is not everybody's cup of tea, it's has a lot of flavors, lots of veggies and basically a lot going on. It might make an even better dish if they removed a couple of ingredients/flavors. It tastes like Tom Yum soup with its lemongrass flavor and perfect for a cold day when you want a soothing soup while still feeling you up. I had only had half the portion and was full and packed the other half for later. The prices are a little steep with $20+ for main course/large plates and while bowls have good portion sizes, the sandwiches don't. Fresh, high quality ingredients though. I just can't justify going there often because of the price point but I do love the food.

The Coup located in a beautiful and trendy area of Calgary. The parking around there isn't ideal but there are some options. The restaurant is beautiful inside very relaxed and trendy. The food is amazing! Many vegan options with reasonable prices and portions. The biggest thing with this restaurant are the unique flavors. Honestly as a vegan it is rare to have food that appeals to non vegans while staying true to non complicated vegan cuisine. I definitely recommend this restaurant to try veganism while enjoying what good gastronomy is.

Thoroughly impressed with my dinner. I wish I had room to try the desserts because they sounded so amazing as well. I had the soup of the day which was a cauliflower turmeric tandoori, a sushi roll appetizer (which was good but probably my least favorite of the dishes), some large assorted appetizer plate and a main dish of the hot pot bowl, which with the soup was the highlight of my meal. I have eaten at a massive number of vegetarian / vegan friendly restaurants worldwide and this was some of the best food that I have had. My drinks were also good as well, I had a maple matcha tea and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The drinks were on the small size for the price, but the meal was enormous, so large that I had trouble finishing it and no room left for dessert. Waitress was super attentive as well. Came with a large party, most of who are not vegetarians and the food was a hit for almost everyone in the crowd.

We saw an ad for this place in a local magazine and decided to check them out after reading some great reviews on Yelp. They did not disappoint! The atmosphere was inviting and the service was great. We both enjoyed a tasty chai beverage and their whip dip appetizer. I had a sandwich with the featured carrot soup and my boyfriend had the burger. Before we had our meal the server brought out a complimentary vinegar shot (shrub shot) which is said to help cleanse your organs. This business does a lot to do their part in helping our plant as well. Their ingredients are locally sourced and organic. To help off-set their waste, they plant 36 trees a month through Tree-Canada. Amazing!

I'm always scared it's going to be overcooked, because at many restaurants the fish usually is, but this was perfectly grilled and well seasoned. The bed of veggies underneath had a really nice, subtle flavor that complemented the fish without overpowering it. I also ordered their banana cocktail, which honestly surprised me. I didn't think I would ever like banana in a cocktail, but it was absolute heaven. Smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. One of those drinks you think about ordering again halfway through. For food, I also had the braised short ribs, and they were excellent. Super tender, rich, and full of flavor. Definitely one of those comforting dishes that still feels elevated and well executed. The decor deserves its own mention. The space is warm, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, and there's an actual live tree inside the restaurant, which is such a cool touch. You can already tell this place must be incredible in the summer when everything is open and lively. Overall, Porch delivers on food, drinks, and atmosphere. Easily a spot I'd come back to, whether for dinner, drinks, or a special night out.

We saw they were going to open at 11am, and decided to try our luck by getting there right at opening since we didn't have a reservation. There's also a super cute swing area next to the bar area that you can sit. I really liked the overall interior design! The staff was very attentive for our large party throughout our meal. There are bathrooms downstairs as well. - FOOD - Bacon Jam Benedict ($20.00): Loved the flavor combination in this! The sweet savory maple bacon jam worked so well! We upgraded to the fried potatoes ($4.00) and they were pretty tasty. Carrot Cake French Toast ($24.00): We got one to share with the table, and I'm glad we didn't commit because it was just OK to me. I wish there was more mascarpone filling, and also a different sauce than chocolate because it didn't pair well for me. Winter Nights ($19.00): We wanted to get some greens in and chose this salad. I enjoyed the mix of greens and also the fennel salami which gave a salty bite! Truffle Parm Fries ($13.00): We also got this to share with the table and you can't go wrong with these! - OVERALL - Great brunch option if you have a small or large group! They haven't even replied to my messages. They do not care about patrons at all. I have written this review on multiple platforms and have even left a formal complaint with the BBB of Calgary. DO NOT waste your time on this business. They are horribly run. Said email: "I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the December 31 event at Lounge 18, which I attended after purchasing three cocktail hour and party tickets. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet the expectations set by the event's promotion or the standards I would expect from your venue. The quality of service throughout the evening was extremely poor. The drinks served were noticeably watered down, and on two separate occasions, drink orders placed at our table were completely forgotten. The server's presence was very infrequent, resulting in wait times of up to 45 minutes to receive a drink. Additionally, the first drink we received at midnight was empty, and the following drink had visible lipstick on the glass, which raised serious concerns about cleanliness and attention to detail. Other advertised features of the event were also lacking. The "photo booth and props" were essentially non-existent, and the dance floor was far too small and poorly arranged for the number of guests in attendance. The music did not reflect the DJ experience that was promised and instead sounded like a generic playlist rather than a professionally curated set. Due to the overall poor execution of the event, we chose to leave early and ended up paying full price to attend another event elsewhere so we could salvage our evening. This was my first experience at Lounge 18, and regrettably, it left a very negative impression. Based on this experience, I am unlikely to return. Given the circumstances, I believe a partial refund would be appropriate, and I hope you will take this feedback seriously. I would appreciate a response regarding how this matter can be resolved.
