Salad bar with charcuterie board!

Mother's Day Brunch was great! The service was super everyone super attentive and Linda was great! The food was also very nice and huge selection. I had prime rib and ham both done perfect! I forgot about this place and glad we went back! The coconut cake was wow thanks Dean!

I stumbled upon this place by chance, and it's a total hidden gem. The interior is incredibly cozy and inviting--perfect for a relaxed meal. A huge shoutout to Sierra, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic dining experience. The food was outstanding! I'll definitely be back.

We went to Mean Deans for dinner tonight for a birthday, and overall it was a really good night. Everyone was super friendly and attentive from the start. The restaurant was clean and had a nice, relaxed vibe. The food was good, and the drinks were great -- they even came with an orchid on top, which was such a fun little touch. Since we were celebrating, the birthday girl got a free dessert of her choice & a birthday card, which was a sweet surprise and made her feel special. The only downside was that I had two Visa gift cards I planned to use, and they wouldn't accept them. That was a little frustrating, but other than that, everything was smooth and easy.

Blackened grouper with chunky pineapple-mango salsa, Caribbean rice, and green beans.

I was visiting the area and looked up this place on yelp and noticed it strong reviews. After going, I had to agree. It seemed fairly busy for a Tuesday night, but not terribly loud and I found it relaxing. I was tempted to get the shrimp and grits, but my friendly and attentive waitress Zoe made another recommendation and I was glad I went with it. I chose the blackened grouper, with chunky pineapple-mango salsa, Caribbean rice and green beans. It was delicious. I added this place to my favorites list.

My friend wanted to try and after a very bad experience I finally said ok because sometimes you need to give a place a second d chance . This time the waitress was very friendly and the food was good . I had the special "chicken parm" and my friend the burger and both were good so this time I had a good experience I will give it another try and see if the first time was just a bad day for the cook or the staff

Cuban with spicy black beans.

The staff is friendly and the restrooms are clean; a good start. For apps the gator bites and calamari were both good. Instead of marinara the calamari had sweet heat drizzled on it; so good. The entrees we ordered: salmon, Cuban sandwich, pork loin, meatloaf, and a filet. Both people were happy with their salmon, but not the side of plain cooked carrots; a little lack luster for the price point of the meal. The salmon was marinated and both people loved it. The pork was good, but it was smothered in large apple pieces, just too thick for the size of the meat- the apple pieces seemed like canned pie filling. The meatloaf had no complaints and with a little extra charge, the side salad matched the meal perfectly. The side salad was quite good. The filet was presented nicely, but alas was overcooked:/ lastly, the Cuban sandwich and black beans over rice was my dish. The sandwich was delicious and shared with the filet and person, who Loved it as well. The black beans only needed just a bit of liquid to make that the perfect side. Although the steak was overcooked, the meal was really solid for the rest of the group. We would probably go back again for sandwiches and the salmon. I'd like to try their fish and chips as well. The menu had a great deal of options. The only part that lagged was the side choices for us.

Amanda and Linda are SUCH awesome servers. All the food is fresh, delicious, and spectacular in every form. The ambiance and hospitality is something every other restaurant should strive for.

We visited Mean Deans for the first time last night. They offer a large diverse menu which meant lots of questions for our server. Michael did an excellent job fielding them and making our special evening even more special. The one question I forgot to ask was whether Chef Dean was sometimes mean. What I can say is the entire staff was great, definitely not mean. We were celebrating a birthday and they went above and beyond. It was also Monday Meatloaf Day, so I had their Marsala Meatloaf. This was a nice comfort food meal. I may have missed some of the nuances of the dish but overall, it was a delicious meatloaf with gravy and potatoes and veggies, a meal I grew up enjoying. My nostalgic dinner started with a small Caesar salad, actually called Vintage Caesar on the menu. It was, too. I even got it with anchovies. We finished our meal by sharing a Key Lime Crème Brulee. I like wood, and there was plenty. One wall was made with various colored boards with chalkboards built in. One chalkboard answered some of the questions we had asked Michael. They have a menu where anybody can find something they'd like to try. My wife raved about her Cedar Plank Salmon, I want to try their Gouda Burger. We'll find a way to return someday.

Stopped in a few days after the hurricane. So thankful it was open, because the 3 other places I tried were closed. First time here but had multiple people recommend so glad we finally got to go. They had a limited menu due to the hurricane and losing so much of their products but still the menu had many options. I had the Gouda burger. It was delicious! I loved that it included mushrooms and onions. The fires were nice and crispy too! My friend has the peanut noodles with chicken. Looked delish! The Oreo cake was also a must try! Love that everything is homemade! Can't wait to come back!

To start off with, it is a Sunday night before the snowbirds arrive (quiet). Our waiter "P" we have…read morehad before on several occasion. Well, he must have been having a BAD night. He was rude from the beginning and the service was terrible from our drink order all the way to dessert. "P" handed our hot plates of food to each of us, and made us grab our plates from him. I had an overpriced NY Strip that was the worst cut of meat I have ever experienced here. It was supposed to be rare to medium rare, and came out well-done. I did not have the heart or the patience to send it back. The other 3 dinners were acceptable, at best. Really? Who puts macaroni & cheese with chicken on a dinner menu for an adult??? The two other meals were salmon, now at half the size of what they used to be. The appetizers were calamari with no red sauce with a little yellow sauce. The calamari was cold, no one knew what the yellow sauce was, and we couldn't find out waiter, which was odd since it was such a slow night. (6p on Sunday) The other appetizer was the mini sherry meatballs, with no taste of sherry whatsoever, but included a grey mystery sauce. Not favorable! We have been to this restaurant many times over the years, and found it wonderful and decently priced for a steakhouse. Well, the menu has completely changed, and now is extremely overpriced for what Modern Chop servings. Steaks are better at the butcher, and dare I even say Publix. Detwiler's would be the best choice for this meat. It was my sister's birthday, and "P" made no mention of it. "P" did not come back to fill water glasses until the end of the meal, like it was "paining" him to do. We had finished our cocktails and wine, and never offered a second. BAD SERVICE! I completely understand that service worker's depend on tips as part of their salary, and I always tip on service. Needless to say, "P" was not happy with his tip when we left! Normally, we are over tippers, and felt that this could be a learning experience for him. We know the wait staff does not cook the food, so we don't blame the poor meals on them. Service is what they get paid for. Lesson learned. Overall experience with same decor as before, prices gone up 30% at least, food quality down by 40%! Go back to the old menu or at least include items for the old menu like fried green tomatoes and bourbon salmon. The fried green tomatoes were actually quite tasty. I don't like leaving reviews good or bad, just an FYI for future patron's of Modern Chop and its managers/owner. I won't bore you with anything else, but I was dissatisfied and disappointed. This was like my 30th time here for drinks and dinner. It is time to find a new steakhouse.

We parked down the block and walked over since we were early for our reservation. I love where they seated us (in the corner away from the bar and other tables). I don't think I'd want to sit anywhere else when we go back! Waiter was immediately on it with explaining specials and checked in with us frequently/filled waters. He recommended a Pinot noir based on what I told him I liked and I really enjoyed it. I also showed him a picture from Yelp of what I wanted for dinner and he told me how it would be a little different. I chose that dish and I wasn't disappointed. We literally scraped our plates clean. This was our first night out alone I a long time and I'm so happy we had such a great ambiance and dinner. Husband was confused with his dish (he thought the pesto was going to have pieces of zucchini and squash) instead it was puréed into the sauce with pieces of spinach. He still enjoyed it and said it felt lighter and healthier (not too oily). He also wished for more bread. Thanks for taking care of us Coasties! I had the linguine with vodka sauce and added blackened chicken. The chicken was extremely dry and I was unable to finish it. The serving size of pasta I also found to be small especially for quite a high price point. The price point of the entire menu I think is also much too high for what you are getting. The edamame gyoza were only 4 in one dish and we also shared the hummus board which was very small for an expensive price. I think they should definitely be re-evaluating how their menu is priced for their portions and the meals themselves.

The ambiance was great, modern and inviting to enjoy a nice evening out. We ordered the wedge salad and French onion soup for our appetizer, filets for our entree, potatoes al gratin for our side, and crème brûlée for dessert. The complimentary bread and butter was very good, my wedge salad was delicious, the French onion soup was very nice, the al gratin potatoes were decent but maybe a little more salt or butter or cheese may improve the score, the crème brûlée was top notch I'm looking forward to having another one in the future, now the only reason I gave a 4 rather than a 5 star was our filet came out at the perfect medium temperature and they were tender, but for some odd reason they were slightly unseasoned and dry which we couldn't understand. Next time we go we will try the fish or something else for our entree. Keep in mind that the amount of the meal was on the higher end, so be prepared to spend a little. Those professional grills are wonderful. Gary's prime rib was perfectly medium rare as well. Gary enjoyed a few Stella's and I enjoyed a red sangria. Finished our meal with strawberry icecream that we shared. The restaurant is configured so that privacy for those intimate meals as there are numerous cozy booths.
