They were meaty but I was looking for this great flavor and it wasn't there. I ordered a side of cajun seafood. Omg!! Omg!!!! There was too much cajun seasoning. I could not eat it. Overall I wasn't totally happy with the crabs. I'm not sure what all of the hype was about. I may go back to get whole crabs and make a sauce of my own.

Spacious and clean! On my most recent visit, we were immediately seated, and shortly after, a server came by to take our order. They provide gloves, an apron, hand wipes, and plastic utensils. I ordered the half-pound mild garlic butter seafood boil with shrimp (without the head), which came with potatoes and corn, and I added sausages. The seafood boil is always tasty. Yummy! I had a cosmo (wasn't strong, but a cute drink to sip while I devoured my seafood boil). Definitely a good spot for seafood boil lovers!

In the summertime I practically live on blue crabs and have sourced many places in North Philly to get them. I returned to the Crab Shack yesterday after seeing a revamped operation on social media and their website. We got two dozen and they were cooked perfectly. They also offer an extensive menu of steamed platters with the ubiquitous veggie trio. You can order on line or outside at the store. You can call but I had no luck with that. The young man who worked with me was nice and pleasant. I was allowed inside to look in the cases that had crabs of all sizes already cooked that morning as well as others cooked seafood items. The staff behind the counter are loud and aloof but they care about what they are doing. Give em a try.

The branzino had a nice crispy crust without ruining the integrity of the branzino and the sauce that came with it was delicious. We told the waiter we were sharing the branzino and they were kind enough to split it up for us into two separate plates. The gnocchi was also really good and the portion size was decent with enough to bring home leftovers. The tiramisu is probably the best I've had in Philadelphia. I also tried their crème brûlée (not pictured) and it was good as well. We were seated outside, which I originally didn't want to do, but we weren't given the option. It all ended up working just fine and we enjoyed our outdoor seating under an umbrella.

They used raw onions in the sandwich but I think it would have tasted better if they had cooked down the onions a little bit. Also, the bread was soft but I think the sandwich would have been better if the bread was toasted. Lastly, something tasted off about the fish. Like it wasn't fresh. - [Wallo Special Swai*]: Because I ordered this as a delivery order, the food was a bit soggy but still tasted good. I can see why it's a best seller. The fish was the best part; it was nice and flaky and well seasoned, only a tad salty for my taste but, overall, very good. - [Vanilla Pound Cake?]: I put a question mark because I don't think that's what we received in our order. What we received was a layered cake(?) of biscuits and cream, which had a pudding consistency, and a chocolate sauce on top. The dessert was too sweet for my liking. Would I go back? : Unfortunately, no. I think the pricing of the food is a bit high given the quality. Granted, we ordered on GrubHub so there was a little bit of an upcharge. I assume their platters might taste better but there's better seafood-boil-type of places elsewhere in the city like The Shake Seafood.
