This place is a dump lol. You get what you pay for and cost and convenience wise you can't do better. The good: it's quiet, the beds are decently comfortable and it's the cheapest place in town. They have coffee and some breads and sweets available each morning for breakfast. The staff were friendly as well. The bad: this place is badly dated the rugs are filthy and the rooms haven't had an update since the 80s. Bathrooms are borderline falling apart and the showers are great for anybody under five feet. Had to literally bend to get rinsed off. Limited supplies and towels available and when we asked for room cleaning during the middle of our day and for extra towels and supplies nobody did or got anything. Frustrating. But it's a bed and shower and if you're there for the city and hiking like we were it's fine enough. I had about enough after three days. That said unless the other hotels or Airbnb are comparable in pricing I'll probably be back lol. read more

First of all i booked for a hotel room @ Meadow Court Inn Ithaca New York for a 2 night stay for a hunting trip instead when we checked in friday evening and went to the room it was more of a disgusting sleazy motel room , it was dirty and not updated like pictures posted on their site. We decided to pack up and check out first thing saturday morning we went to front desk and complaint and asked for a one day refund and was REFUSED THE REFUND. I went back to the room to finish packing my hunting stuff when we left i left behind my BUSHNELL RANGEFINDER on the table . As we were getting in our car i saw a male housekeeper next door cleaning OUR DOOR WAS LOCKED . When i arrived home and unpacked my bags i noticed i left behind my RANGEFINDER i immediately called the MOTEL and told the lady named JODI she said she will ask the male housekeeper who cleaned the room and get back to me'.She called me back and said they didn't find anything and to call the owner MARILYN and manager KAREN which i did speak with both and was called a LIAR and i did not leave nothing and hung up the phone on me. This is a budget motel that was about half the price of anything else for the time period we were staying in Ithaca. We stayed in the "deluxe" rooms in the main building. Our room was clean, quiet and sufficiently spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The housekeepers kept our room clean during our stay. Quirky combination of old and new two-story buildings, the big older motor lodge has motel rooms (your door opens to the parking lot), the newer small hotel has hallways, ice machines and everything. I'm guessing the 1-star reviews are for the un-renovated motel rooms at the Meadow Court? Our hotel stay was fine, perfectly forgettable, a-ok. We snagged a room on the top floor of the hotel building on Apple Fest weekend when everything else in town was booked. Our king non-smoking room was big, had a window that opened, desk, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, HDTV, a small couch and a table + 2 chairs. Bathroom was in very good order and clean. Plenty of (somewhat thin) towels. Bed and pillows were a little firm but ok. Utterly quiet at night, could not even hear traffic. Wifi worked fine for me for basic browsing and yelping, didn't try any streaming. Fitness center? Pool? Haha no, none of that here. Business center? There's a computer with a printer in the breakfast room. My only gripe is that the staff was a little too friendly, housekeeping opened the door at 7:30am while the Khaleesi was still in bed. To be fair we didn't put out the do-not-disturb sign. But seriously, 7:30 on a Sunday? Free breakfast 7-11am for hotel guests in the lobby: coffee, orange juice, yogurt, supermarket bagels and English muffins. The coffee was, uh, hot. And brown. Yeah. It's a fairly easy walk to downtown Ithaca, about 3/4 mile to the Commons, you can have some cider and not worry about driving back. The Royal Court restaurant is also part of this property. Only stayed here because it was a last minute trip to Ithaca. Other than the price, this place would've got a 2 star only because the woman was nice at the guest desk. The photos don't lie. Outdated. Carpet on floor really grossed me out. The bed was somewhat comfortable. I've slept on worse. The overall appearance outside was kind of scary. I'm praying I don't bring home any bed bugs. If I can give this place zero stars, I totally would. Never have I stayed in a room that smelled like toilet with a mixture of mildew and chlorine. We tried to switch room but was told by this by this really large size, creepy lady, that all rooms were booked and the only ones that were available are the double beds instead of the queens size which we needed. Really?!?! Also for the amount of money we paid, they didn't even have wifi. It seems the only time it works at a minimal is if you're at their office. Other then that, it's non-existence. When I clarified to him that I can not safety walk back to my building due to the ice and its approx 20°outside...he said in a condescending and confrontational tone "I know!...that is why I have to leave to salt it". I made my way back to my room which is a separate building across the parking lot. Another housekeeper came across the parking lot with their cart and mentioned how icy it was....she stated they sometimes will sand it but only when the maintenance guy gets around to it often after 10am if he even shows up.... When I returned to my room to pack my things, I noticed the bedsheets had dried blood stains under the pillows. I wish I noticed this BEFORE I slept here. We arrived late the night before and went right to bed after going to the restaurant upon arrival...as I started lnspecting to room more, I found it was really gross and had not had a proper cleaning in God knows how long. It's like the sheets weren't even washed....the fridge was caked with slimy red goo that had been there for awhile, dirt, grime and spills on end table, chairs, hairs and grime on headboard. Stayed here for one night during Cornel homecoming and enjoyed the stay. The room seemed like it belonged in my grandmother's house (not contemporary furniture or linens) and the shower was slightly dusty with a small house spider or two, but for a really frequent traveler and loyal Marriott patron I found the accommodations fine. The staff could not have been more friendly and the rates were fair. The experience could've been better if the shower was cleaner, but if they don't have a lot of folks in those rooms every night then that's an expected outcome. Do not stay here. I have stayed at countless inns, motels, and hostels throughout the country. Meadow Court Inn is by far and away the worst experience I have had. There was no attempt by the staff to create a positive experience. I booked two nights here with my girlfriend for the "Kendall Day" weekend. We did not stay here the second night. Upon arrival we were greeted by a woman at the front desk that wanted nothing to do with us, things went down hill from there. We entered our room and immediately noticed the tell tale smell of mold. An inspection of the sheets revealed hair, dirt, and what I believe to be smeared mascara. The floors were filthy and it was obvious that they had not been thoroughly vacuumed (if at all). The bathroom walls and ceilings were covered in mold. Half of the lights in the room did not work. The grounds around the inn were filthy and covered in litter. Getting in touch with the front desk by phone required 6+ phone calls. When we went to checkout, the woman did not ask us how our stay was, I am sure she already knew. Basic but clean and friendly. I typed in special requests on my online booking, and also called to make sure they saw. I needed a quiet room away from stairwell, ice machine, etc., and asked for someone to please double-check the room for cleanliness and no odors (bad smells, smoke, cleaning products, perfume, ANYTHING) as I am sensitive to noises and smells. Jacob at the front desk personally inspected and chose my room before I arrived, and it was perfect. Thank you to Jacob and the morning desk guy with the stars on his arms. Trouble started just as soon as we arrived with the desk clerk arguing a doubled rate compared to the online posted rate that we thought we were receiving (no confirmations from this establishment either) . I told a friend one day that in order for a business to receive a one-star rating from me, it would literally have to treat me like crap, call me a racial slur, run over my dog, spit in my face, and burn the American flag. Even if all of that would happen, it still might get a two star rating because of how pro-business I am. If you take a look at my review history, I have never given a one-star rating, very few 5 stars (they really have to earn it), but more 4 stars than 3. Now that the caveat is out of the way. This place is terrible. I have over 390 reviews and I haven't given a 1-star rating. This place tried really hard to pop my 1-star cherry. And it did a fantastic job at that. I just finished driving about 4 hours from Philadelphia and arrived into Ithaca about midnight. So I go to check in, and no one was there. I decided to wait in the car for about 20 minutes before someone finally came. She was nice and I have no complaints about the lady who gave me my room. However, upon entering my room, the place smelled heavily like an ash tray. It's my own fault for saying it didn't matter if I wanted smoking or not, but to give me the worst smelling room? Come on! As I walked around the room, to lay my things down and to get ready for a nice hot shower after a sweaty and exhausting drive, I noticed how many amenities were missing. No microwave to heat up my dinner, not a big deal. No iron or board, that's fine, I will just wear my least wrinkled clothing. But as I walk into the bathroom, my aggravation was starting to erupt. The shower was leaking water, the toilet was running, and it just looked overall horrible. I can get used to it, it's only one night. I start to get undressed and turn on the shower, but there was no hot water whatsoever. It wasn't even warm. I thought I could probably just wait until the morning to take a shower. Fine. I then move onto the bed, but I couldn't believe how disgusting it felt. I honestly think they didn't bother washing anything and just reused the sheets over and over again. It was sticky, grimy, and smelled horrible. I'm a veteran, I've been in worse situations. Not going to get mad, just learn to live with it. I pull out my laptop to do some work, but the straw that finally broke the camel's back when I couldn't get a connection on their wifi. I exploded in a fit of rage. I packed everything up and walked over back to the front desk and demanded a refund, that these conditions are unbearable and that I don't want to stay here any longer. She offered a room in the "better" hotel, to which I reply, "Why wasn't that offered in the first place?" After some chatter, I go over to the new hotel. It was 1000 times better than the dump they gave me. However, I still wanted a hot shower and still needed to do a lot of work in which the wifi had no connection. Both were not provided. I came back and told her that I needed those two things and she was nice enough about it but told me I would have to call hotels.com the next day to get a refund. It's not logical for me to have to drive around at 1 am to find another hotel in a place that I am unfamiliar with. This has been the worst experience I ever had with a place and it needs to be shut down so that no one will ever have to go through what I did. I've seen terrorist prisoners have better conditions than this dump. Be warned. Also, it's been over 3 weeks of me trying to get my refund back through hotels.com and through this hotel which they refused, now I have to deal with my bank. The staff are rude as if they are being bothered. The towels are out of the 80's, very thin and small. There was dried fecal matter under the toilet seat. There was hair and bugs in the shower. The shower head was in dire need of replacement. The soaps in the bathroom were horrible. I didn't feel clean after using them. Or maybe because it was I didn't feel clean being in the room. The wifi works best the closer you are to the office so you might have to go outside your room to use it. The comforter was stained. This time we are in The original building which probably was last updated during the early 1990's and is very tired. The place is cheap, but do not expect much. My motorcycling buddy and I stayed only one night on our return trip from Clayton, NY. The thing that scared me the most is the clerk pointed out VERY CLEARLY that there would be a $250 room charge for ANY damage. When we got into the room there was damage all over the place so I called and was told "WE KNOW". I made a list of the damage and had it attached to my check in card. The only thing that kept us there was the young lady (room maid) who was very nice, helpful with information about food and The Commons. It was unclean, smelly, and unrefined. Above all they didn't allow me to smoke and cigarettes or drink beer in my room. They is also something even I find disgusting, they is a short fat women that has a horrible attitude. Breakfast is from 7-10 and most of the time I wake up too drunk to catch the free grub on time, so when I walk into the kitchen I find everything locked up. Even the milk was locked up in a fridge how disgusting. You don't see my locking up my cow when I bring friends over. For the price, the room we got was ok for the area; a two story motel style double queen. But what really earns the low rating is the awful customer service. Long story short we booked the room through booking.com and were charged for the stay at the time of booking. Nevertheless, we were required to give our card again at check-in, presumably for incidentals. Imagine our shock when we learned that we had been charged again! However, what should have been a simple matter to fix became a nightmare when trying to deal with the incompetent, low class, hotel clerk. I stayed at the Meadow Court Inn because all other hotels near town were booked. After reading negative reviews, I was nervous about what I was getting myself into. I tend to be a bit of a hotel snob and had never stayed in what is basically a motel. My fears were initially confirmed when I checked in. It was 11:00 at night and the office door was locked, lights out. I rang the bell and waited for what seemed an eternity. The largest and scariest woman I have ever seen finally answered the door and I followed her into a sad little lobby which had not been updated since the Regan administration. The woman was incredibly rude and clearly not happy that I had disturbed her from her television show which I could hear in the back office. I fell over myself to be friendly and nice as possible to see if I could turn around her attitude. No luck. I got my key card and walked across the large parking lot to my room which was towards the end of the hotel. There were not many cars in the lot so now I was worried that no one would hear me scream when my new friend came to kill me. I scrambled into my room and locked the door behind me. When I walked into the room and turned on the lights, I was half expecting to see cockroaches scrambling for cover. However, the room was actually very clean and tidy. While the furniture and bathroom fixtures were old and bare-bone basic, everything was in good order. I found the bed to be comfortable even though the sheets were very thin. The television was over 15 years old, but it worked. As other people mentioned, the WiFi did not work. I was told by hotel management that I would have to go outside of my room to access WiFi. Frustrating, and very inconvenient, but this was honestly the only issue I had with the hotel (other than the scary night manager). By the end of my trip, I actually found my room to be cozy. Overall, my hotel stay ended up being better than I initially expected. The hotel is by far one of the least expensive in town, so I guess it was OK for the price. My rating is based on the price as I would expect far better from a more expensive hotel. My advice to hotel management is to have someone friendlier (and less scary) working the night shift and beef up your WiFi. read more

Do NOT stay here! If you need to stay in Ithaca drive from another hotel. I have not one positive thing to say about this dated hotel. The room stinks like urine, it is dated, and the wireless internet does not work! There is a large woman who works the late shift at the front desk who is unprofessional, and not a pleasant person. They must have had to dig deep to find such a wonderful person to work here! The shower doesn't drain, the water is too hot or cold, and the shower head is meet for someone who is 4 feet tall.
