We usually stay at The Inn at Aurora, this is definitely a different vibe..but so much fun! My sister/brother-in-law and my husband and I stayed in a two room suite with a shared bath. The place has a hippie/bohemian vibe, but so does all of Ithaca. Diane, the Inn keeper is an authentic, one of a kind bohemian in the best way possible. She goes out of her way to make you feel at home and welcome. My husband(a self proclaimed square, conservative) was enamored with her. She took a lot of time to give us really excellent recommendations for restaurants and hikes. We just loved her and the place. We had the most beautiful veranda view of the lake and the sunset. Yes, she's cooky. But in a good way. yes, the decor is kinda-hoarder-like. But in a sweet, inspiration, stuck-in-Woodstock-kinda way. VERY affordable with a priceless view. Little tricky to find (we stayed at the private house, not main location) I would stay at the main house (better decor and newer) than the private house. Would go back again- because that's what matters. BUT- we stayed at the Aurora Inn last year (20 minutes up the road) and prefer there, but it's about double the price. read more

I'm wrapping up my stay at the Country Inn, still in awe of the spectacular view of the lake, valleys and beyond. Diane is the most special kind of host radiatinh authentic good energy vibes and a love of her extraordinary property. She was meant to share all this with those fortunate enough to land here. There are mystical little treats of reading and inspiration everywhere, very sweet. I believe in intentions and Diane is a good egg, a little kooky and a lot wonderful. Come relax and wind down...and take Diane suggestions where to see cool things nearby like Rogues Tavern for dinner or a trip to the falls & parks. Lakefront Inn Bed & Breakfast - Good morning - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Ithaca, New York

Book this place at your own risk. We booked with a credit card one month in advance and spoke to the owner who also asked that I follow up with a text with all my details which I did. Now we live in Brooklyn please understand. 4 hours in to our drive to the inn we called Rose to ask for the specific address and were shocked to learn that she 'overbooked' and our room was no longer available. So let me get this straight: we book one month in advance secured by a credit card and she sells the room to someone else without even calling us ahead of time ? Please keep in mind this is high season during the pandemic where finding a hotel room in high season is even more challenging than usual. This shows an extraordinary level of carelessness which is completely unacceptable. As a human being I accept her apology but as one small business owner to another I cannot accept this reckless and irresponsible behavior. She can be sure that I will warn all my friends and family about this place. Book this in at your own risk. read more

Very nice room in the Villa building on the property with extraordinary view of Cayuga Lake. The setting is really, really quiet and private, steeped in tranquility. Diane lets her artistic flare show in the decorative touches. I opted out of the breakfasts so no info on that. read more

We had read some mixed reviews and now having stayed, and loved it, I'd like to clear up any confusion for future guest. We had never stayed at a b&b before and after some of the negative comments we were very nervous. The rooms are very clean, the decore is a bit cluttery but cute. The beds are comfortable. The staff is present and inviting. You feel like you are at home with family! Hot tub is clean, working, and wonderfull despite what 'people' have said. The view is amazing! You can walk down thru the woods to stairs that take you to the waters edge, or you can just sit on the deck and look from a distance. Like I said we loved our stay and are sure you will too, especially if you and your partner enjoy each others company. read more

Finding it might be a challenge: the website, google maps and GPS are useless. No sign on the road either. But it's cozy and clean with a flare for ribbons and unusual found objects. An artist's spirit is resident. Our massages were provided by Joseph Holmgren, whose approach to massage was unique (and I get a lot of massages), but I kept an open mind and found the experience healing. To be brutally honest, we were a bit hesitant to stay here as they had availability last minute before Valentines Day weekend. The owner was away (and definitely has her own communication style!) and she had the inn being tended to by art students. We were weary but we couldn't have been more wrong. The house is just fabulous - great little surprised everywhere you look and you can tell the owner took the time to give each room its own vibe. We stayed in the Premiere room and then French East which were both charming and comfy and beyond what we expected for a B&B. The breakfast was outstanding and the hot tub among the stars (even in 3 degree weather) was incredible with a view of the lake and all of Ithaca. Really excellent stay!
