This is my all time favorite place to stay ! The owners are amazing! So accommodating and kind. The food is outstanding. The breakfast is a meal, not just a traditional continental breakfast. Drinks are generous. The rooms are all quant. All are different . And cleaner than any place I've stayed .

Private room for brunch after a very special day!

Never have we ever been treated so well surrounded by such class, history, and beauty in an intimate, personal event -- thank you Benn Conger Inn.... uniquely elegant, outstanding food, service, surroundings!

The building next door to the main inn. Beautifully detailed rooms with a European flare.

From the moment you check in until your head hits the pillow, an evening at the Benn Conger Inn is simply magical. Peter and Doug, the inn keepers, welcome each guest like old friends returning from an arduous journey. The bar is quaint and historical and Doug makes the best dirty martinis you will find anywhere. Peter prepares amazing cuisine, and the wait staff are warm and attentive. We stayed in the ground floor suite in the building next door and it was beautifully detailed, cozy, and serene.

The Inn is a unique collection of houses and rooms close to downtown Ithaca - walking distance! Upon arriving, I'm greeted by hosts Madeline and Kenn--and the most amazing smells from Madeline's kitchen! Between the local apple cider and the amazing breakfasts, I tell myself calories don't count at the Inn. Some things to note: -Kenn is an architect, see if you can get him to talk about the history of building the inn -The Inn is dog friendly!! -Snag the gazebo is you're wanting some privacy -Bring hiking boots and explore the nearby trails -Book early... there might be times you can be spontaneous, but for big weekends (alumni/reunion, commencement), the rooms book up WAY in advance

Breakfast offerings change daily and she uses the freshest ingredients; I'm super picky and every option sounded scrumptious. It was hard to choose just one! HIGHLY recommend the Gazebo room; it is a standalone room situated towards the back of the property and is very private and romantic. The decor is simple, yet elegant. It includes an oversized jet tub, spacious bedroom and bathroom and mini fridge. There is also a fireplace in the room and is stocked with lavender toiletries. My boyfriend and I appreciated the attention to detail in this room. We will absolutely be back! Madeline and Ken were happy to recommend activities and restaurants as well. There is a lot to do in the area and I cannot wait to visit in the fall. Parking off-street, wi-fi, delicious cookies and juice served in the evenings, beautiful grounds and the list goes on. You will NOT be disappointed with this lovely bed and breakfast.

Pros: The owner is super cool. When we arrived, he was mowing the lawn. He hopped off and showed us to our room. Check in wasn't till 3pm but he allowed us to go up early. The rooms were huge. Very intimate since we could leave our doors opened and unlocked the entire stay. Only the bridal party stayed at the inn so it was nice. The owner and staff were all super helpful, polite, and nice. McKenzie, one of the staff, especially sweet and didn't complain about anything even though she was there all day and night (give this girl a raise). They did skimp out on liquor, not watered down at all. Food was amazing . I believe the owner cooked everything. The venue was very beautiful. The view was perfect. We got very lucky since it literally rained all day. The rain stopped and the sunset was amazing. Cons: I stayed here mid October and the weather here is still very hot and cold, literally. Mostly cold. The ac/heater unit didn't work very well and it either got way too hot or way too cold. Couldn't find a middle ground. Also, it took a while for it to get to warm up. Our fireplace was not functional and all. The owner made a few attempts to fix that problem but never got fixed. There's a hot tub here. We didn't use it. There were dead flies all over the place. On the rug, in the tub, and on the sheets. The rooms didn't seem to be clean. There was hair in the sink, gunk in the shower, hair on the walls on the shower, and dust all over the place. My boyfriend walk around the room barefoot and tracked dirt into the bed. Could def use a nice vacuum and dusting. Happy to say the bed at least had a mattress cover. The rooms were ridiculously expensive given the cleanliness.

We stayed in the Fireplace Suite & loved it. Our suite, and the B&B as a whole, looked like it came right out of a magazine. While we were impressed with how pretty the B&B was, we were also very impressed by how delicious the food was. Anne & Charlie made us a well balanced breakfast each morning which left us full and satisfied. Specifically, I cannot rave enough about the parfait station they set up; the local maple flavored yogurt was so good that we went out and bought some to bring back home with us! In addition to the great bed & breakfast, Anne and Charlie were great with helping my fiancé propose! They had champagne waiting for us out on the porch and my fiancé proposed overlooking the lake. It is an 1890's style mansion built by Mr. Wickwire, an iron magnate. There are a handful of rooms and a couple of suites all very quant and accommodating. Apparently his family also built a few of the neighboring mansions. As a Cortland Alum I try to book a room every five years or so for my 5 year Reunions. The college holds many events here for alums and I would suggest calling ahead to check busy weekends. My wife and I have stayed in almost every room here - our favorite is the Rist suite. It is large and has a spacious sitting room for entertaining and relaxing. It overlooks the back gardens which are lovely. A modest breakfast is provided with the room and coffee is always available. The staff are delightful and accommodating. It is a nice B&B. We always bring a few bottles of wine for personal consumption. There is no liquor license. There are many outside spaces to relax in and the front porch is a great spot. It is perfect as a home base when visiting town. We will be back. Mark & Nancy.

Conveniently located to downtown Cortland and a quick drive to the Finger Lakes Region, Ithaca and even Syracuse. A quick walk to the SUNY Cortland campus of course. Each room is magnificent and the staff leaves no need or want unattended. The rooms are quite reasonable and you can event rent the entire house for a family, reunion or group! We rent out the entire house every year for a group on an annual Finger Lakes motorcycle trip. There is no place like this. The staff is practically invisible and yet every need is met. No meddling owners bothering you; they are there if you need them but leave you alone to enjoy every room in this historic mansion. There is ample off-street parking, verandas to relax on, stunning gardens and great breakfast. Events are incredible and they do it all; graduation, christening, showers, weddings and business meetings. Truly the best of the best.
