Beautiful and astonishing view. I enjoyed every second here in the village, everywhere we go has a lake view. The house are classy with white marble and beautiful decorations. We went to the diner in Aurora, the food is amazing, the waitress was so funny, she had me hooked on peach cheesecake and sundae. The piggy back burger is perfect smoky. I will come back again for sure

I'm writing this review still on a high days after our first visit. From incredible massage therapists to attentive staff to superb facilities; we are so fortunate to have this resort right in our backyard! Look no further than Inns of Aurora for all of your spa needs.

I have stayed at this lovely resort multiple times! Each time I stay at a different inn and experience the beauty of each place I also have nothing but great things to say about the food options! The 1833 restaurant and bar is a upscale restaurant inside the Aurora Inn - it's a gorgeous restaurant and the service is spectacular Pictured below is the multiple course meal we had for dinner. The food was exquisite and the portions were just the right size allowing us to enjoy each course without feeling full! We also enjoyed the more casual atmosphere of the Fargo bar and grill! The loaded tots were delightful and they also had a great burger. We even got food for takeout for a night in to watch a football game! I cannot say enough about the inns - the service is unmatched. Each inn has their own inn keeper who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cater to your needs however small. Our amazing inn Keepers helped us set up a bone fire, got us plates for takeout, and served us complimentary every evening! The hotel rooms are all unique - you can pick the one you want and enjoy the best sleep of your life! Finally the spa was spectacular - certainly the spa I have been to in the upstate region and surpassed all expectations. There are heated pools indoor and outdoor so you can enjoy a dip in the winter! the relaxation areas are so quiet and peaceful with lovely peaceful music overhead The complimentary buffet style grazing table was great! So many healthy options - you will be well fed but with the most fresh ingredients!! Such delicious salads and soup options ;) Overall the inns of Aurora is a spectacular all year round destination. If you want to save a little bit I'd recommend going in the winter - the inns are not as full and In fact you may find yourself the only occupants if you're lucky like we were! Hope you enjoy it as well :)

2025 Update: An unplanned trip over to Aurora for Wine Down Wednesday ended up providing our best lunch of this year's trip to the FLX. We started with an incredible corn and crab bisque. Both the steak sandwich and chicken sandwich were the best we've had and of course the wine choices were broad. We had an incredible bottle of white Northern Rhône to complement the meal. Service by Melissa and the other staff was excellent.

Prepare to be amazed by this hidden gem on the Cayuga Lake! The accommodations and grounds transport you to the gilded age of beauty and sophistication. Each house has a different character and everything is carefully curated to the smallest detail. Loved the Nespresso, Harney and Sons teas, and morning granola as well as the evening s'more's kits. There are plenty of activities you can choose from but there is no pressure to do anything. In fact time and space seem to slow down in this small hamlet and you can fully restore physically and mentally. I thoroughly enjoyed the morning yoga, hiking, the painting workshop, and the spa. Had breakfast at 1833 Kitchen and Bar almost every day during my one week stay. The staff is beyond attentive. They are completely focused on you and anticipate your needs. The broader area is also beautiful and worth exploring. I am so happy to have found this place and hope to return one day!

Probably the most relaxing day of my entire life. The facial was so nice, thanks Mo! My face feels so much better and way less dry. Mo set me up with a skin care routine and answered all of my questions, she's so lovely. We loved doing the hydrotherapy, although 55 degrees was too cold for my mom and I, our feet went numb after 30 seconds! The saunas and the eucalyptus steam room were soooo nice. The cafe is filled with delicious treats and really good homemade soup, and has an amazing salad bar. There's cold lemon water around every corner to make sure you are well hydrated with all of the sweating going on. They really thought of everything! We had THE best day here, you need to go! Totally worth the money and the drive to come here!

Not sure how anyone can give this place anything less than 5 stars. Yelp should have a 5 star + for places like this. The food, service, ambiance, and location were all fabulous. NOTE; also known as 1833 Kitchen and Bar, as it is the restaurant in the famous Aurora Inn Hotel. Tucked away in the little town of Aurora, NY overlooking Cayuga lake, one of New York state's famous finger lakes. We started with a nice Rose from the finger lakes winery and some bread. The bread was perfect, and the butter was a spectacular special kind of butter. We had to stop ourselves from continually asking for more bread and butter, to be sure we had appetite for the main course. We ordered the Charred Shishito Peppers with gremolata oil and crispy garlic as an appetizer. I was expecting a place like this to bring out a small plate of five peppers, so we asked about ordering two, and the waitress laughed and said, "You all will be fine with one, trust me." She wasn't kidding. Holy Cow! It was a large plate that could feed 6-8 guests easily. Plus they were perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of charring, and the garlic... Oh, my, tons of perfectly fried slices of garlic. Garlic and pepper lovers, you must get this plate. After the appetizer, I was excited to see our main dishes. There were a number, but I managed to capture mine, and a guests, since it looked as fantastic as it tasted. I had the Iberico pork with the baby broccoli and chorizo and fingerling hash, with even more shishito peppers! The pork had just the right amount of fat grilled nicely hanging off the edge adding to the juicy flavor of the meat. I had to resist gnawing on the bone at the table when done, as it was that good. First time tasting chorizo and fingerling hash. Was nice unique flavor. Should have it as an appetizer, that good. A friend had the seared scallops, which were divine, if you can't tell from the photo. I would say the only downfall, is that the menu is not extensive, but then again, the quality of the selections and food, make up for that. This place is a true gem.

My girl friend and I stayed at the Inns (and visited the spa) to celebrate our birthdays! There are 5 buildings/inns to chose from and we stayed at Wallcourt Hall )newly renovated, slightly more affordable). The king sized room was plenty big, comfortable and had all the amenities one could need. There are so many activities to chose from, I highly suggest looking at their calendar! We had a great time taking the complimentary shuttle to a local winery and brewery (just make sure you let them know in advance!) I'd highly recommend visiting, spending time at the spa (you'll want to spend the day)and strolling into the little town.

Hands down the best spa I have ever been to! I spent 6 hours there and could have easily stayed longer. I got the 80 minute signature massage and it was very lovely. I then spent the rest of the afternoon bouncing between cold plunges, hot soaks and the sauna. The outdoor pools & tranquility room overlook Cayuga Lake. I came here in November so everything is pretty dead and brown but I bet in the summer and fall this view is more breathtaking. They have a salad bar (and soup of the day) that's included and it was the best salad bar ever! I know what you're thinking, it's just a salad bar but it really was amazing! I live 3 hours away and found out about this place from a friend. I definitely will be back! And be recommending this place to all my friends! Worth a drive if you don't live locally!

Dad and I stopped in here for lunch. The place is elegant, to say the least and I'll make it a point to stay at the Inn next time I'm in the area. The outdoor deck makes this place one of the few dining options offering a view of the lake. We each got a clam chowder and lobster roll. Both were absolutely delicious, as were the hand cut fries served with the roll. They use fresh lobster, not the crap out of the can. The ONLY reason I'm at 4 stars is because they had a major bee problem during our visit. We specifically went here to eat on the deck but the multiple bees swarming our table made it impossible to enjoy the experience. Just when we thought moving inside would put us in the clear, there were bees everywhere inside too. It didn't help that they left the deck door wide open, inviting them in. They acknowledged they had a problem but didn't say what they were doing about it. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a nest somewhere they just hadn't discovered yet, perhaps because they weren't looking for it.

Only $20 - 60, but a win is a win. If you are intimidated by the tables, they have automatic craps and roulette games. The roulette is pretty dated and could really should be updated. Mostly because the interface is kinda a pain, but it still works. The staff is super friendly and are happy to answer any dumb questions i have. Customer service is top notch. The cleaning crew is really on top of things. The main floor, bathrooms, dining areas are all spotless. The thing that really stands out about this place is that the people seem happy. They call each other by their names. They joke and laugh. This is not the atmosphere that I usually see at the other NY casinos.

A close friend gave me a gift certificate a number of years ago (2019) and I just got to actually use it 2026). The first attempt at using the gift certificate (2023) didn't go so well, and the employee I spoke with while booking my spa reservation at the time charged my credit card in full for the appointment - not only before I ever had my appointment itself (the credit card is supposed to just go on file to hold the appointment), but knowing that I would be using a gift certificate to cover the entire cost of my appointment. The date/time was also input incorrectly, as was the location (the person made my appointment for the Plymouth, MA location when I has specified the Skaneateles, NY location) and in frustration I ended up canceling entirely. It was quite an annoyance to sort through and I was issued a new gift certificate number via email. That's what I ended up bringing with me to my new appointment. All that said, I still had the new gift certificate number - and $300 to use. My reason for making my most recent appointment was because I had been dealing with neck/shoulder tightness for about a week and a half (at the time of making my appointment) and all I could think was that MAYBE a massage would help loosen some of the tightness. I scheduled a 50 minute signature massage with "Hot Stone Melter Enhancement & Divine Hair & Scalp Ritual". Mind you, I've had plenty of massages that include hot stones... and when I add them on as an enhancement, it's nice if the massage therapist spends more than about 10 seconds using them at a given time. My massage therapist at the time of my appointment was a woman a little older than middle aged. While I imagine she's been a massage therapist for a fairly lengthy period of time, she brought a somewhat nervous energy to our session. I explained what I was looking for out of the massage experience, and then she left the room for me to prepare for the massage. When she returned and the massage session began, it was relatively relaxing... though I wish she'd ultimately have spent more time in the problem areas I had mentioned. I was also disappointed in the amount of time spent using the hot stone enhancement, as well as the hair & scalp ritual (which maaaaaaaaybe lasted 5 seconds after the addition of the hair oil). Ultimately, the session was nice... and I'm sure it loosened up the tightness in my neck/shoulder a bit. It just wasn't what I expected based on the enhancements or what we discussed before my massage began. Everything together (including the 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill and the two chapsticks that I added from the spa check-in/check-out counter) came to about $285. Mirbeau seems expensive for the experience you get. I spent a lot of time around Skaneateles growing up, so I understand that there's a certain population/type of market that makes charging what they do seem perfectly reasonable... but it just seemed like way too much based on comparative experiences I've had. Not the best use of the enhancement options, and I just can't help but think that if Mirbeau was located somewhere else then there's no way they'd get to charge what they do. Basically, I'm glad that I had a gift certificate and didn't have to pay for the experience out of pocket.

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and weren't sure what to expect. This place exceeded our expectations. The mansion itself is beautiful. Every time we walked around the house we discovered more treasures, everything from the molding to antique pieces. The property has a lovely view of the Erie Canal. Each morning there was coffee waiting or us outside our door on a beautifully arranged tray. Then we went down to breakfast. I hate to repeat myself but the table was also beautifully arranged. We tried several different dishes during our stay, each one delicious. Our host, John and Rebecca, were there for our every need, without being intrusive. After running around all day It was so relaxing to return to our room each night. We asked several relatives to stop by and see the place. Our Aunt was thrilled as she had driven by hundreds of times and never been inside. She was not disappointed. One extra point. Don't get me wrong, it's expensive. But for once I felt like I'd gotten my money's worth! Everything everywhere was meticulously clean and well-kept. Our room was spacious and bright, with a private balcony and chairs, a couch and coffee table, and a full table that allowed us to take comfortable advantage of the room service breakfast. Potpourri sachets in the closet, free water bottles in the lobby, free coffee stations on each floor, and chocolates every night on the pillows--details, people! We also enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub, and of course the gorgeous patio and firepits overlooking the lake which was 80% of the reason we booked here. All of the staff we encountered, from the front desk to the housekeepers, were very friendly. I did think it was a little strange that the fitness center was in a whole different building and you have to walk across the parking lot to get to it, but hey--you get your steps in. The hotel is also very centrally located. On the water, of course, but next door to Seneca Harbor Station from which you can book lake cruises. It's also less than a mile from the entrance to Watkins Glen State Park and hiking trails and only a 5-10 minute walk from most restaurants. We did most things on foot. When you do get back in the car, there are multiple wineries within a 15-minute drive. The only problem the whole visit was the hotel internet, which was terrible every day. You could make do in the daytime, but at night, when everyone was back in their rooms after the day out exploring, it was slow to the point of unusable, and I ended up turning on my data hotspot to even be able to check my email. I would not suggest bringing time-sensitive work with you, and you should not expect to be able to stream videos on your devices. Just disconnect, you'll be less frustrated. There is an onsite restaurant and bar, and while it's nothing mind-blowing, it is a nice option to have (and is one of the few "higher end" type places in Watkins Glen). Menu includes a few of the standard local wines, which was nice!

I've been to the Brewster in for cocktails on the lawn years ago. This was my first time dining…read morehere and it was amazing. We had a 6:30 reservation on a Saturday and had the option of dining outside on the patio or inside. We opted for inside and were promptly sat at a window table. We had a great view of the lake and the patio. It was a perfect night watching the sun set over the water. (For anyone who finds restaurant proposals to be their thing, this is definitely worth a consideration). Our waitress was on top of her game noting the specials, recommendations and quick to answer our questions. Every special sounded delicious and it was hard to choose. Our meal was absolutely delicious. We ordered the spicy lobster pasta and the chicken francaise. Huge chunks of lobster, fresh pasta and a sauce perfectly spiced. The chicken was cooked perfectly. I was a bit surprised they did not serve bread with the entree but TBH we were both stuffed after finishing our meal. There was enough leftover pasta to box up for dinner the next night. After dinner we walked out to the water and checked out the boats. Ladies, be careful where you step on the dock. Seems like the geese like it here too! The back patio is huge, and has a dedicated bar. Attire was both dressy and casual and the clientele was a mix of young and old. While being more of an upscale restaurant it has a neighborhood vibe to it. I would 100% recommend dining here! I can't say much about the inn except that the building itself is beautiful. Our waitress suggested we come back to try one of their homemade desserts. Judging from our first dining experience that will happen very soon

This establishment continues to amaze me! If you're looking for a cozy, historical mansion by the…read morelake feel, this is THE PLACE! The restaurant is incredible, with stunning lake views. The entire mansion is in impeccable condition, with antiques all around. Every employee is welcoming and inviting. They have an entire take out menu, and seafood area. The people who work in the kitchen and at the counter are top notch! Knowledgeable, friendly, and hard-working. They have a large horseshoe parking lot, and you are able to drive right up to the door to unload, and load. The inn rooms are reasonably priced. This restaurant makes chili for the annual local Chilly Chili race in Cazenovia, and this year the race was postponed after they had made their batch. They offered their chili up to the public to take. We stopped by and they sent us along with an entire container of chili. It was outstanding! An excellent experience from start to finish!!!
