We had a wonderful two night stay in this beautiful bed and breakfast. We stayed in the Champagne Suite which was full of natural light and had access to the upper balcony. It was perfect. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests each morning. We found that other than us, everyone we talked to had stayed at the B&B prior and were return/frequent visitors which is a huge testament to the quality of this inn. A great location for hiking Watkins Glen or visiting the many wineries in the area. We will definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to visit this area again. read more

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. My wife and I had the pure pleasure of making this place home for a few days in mid-September. The hosts Ron and Katie could not have been more gracious and welcoming! They made us feel right at home and were so very accommodating. The home is absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. The breakfasts were outstanding and we looked forward to them each day! They certainly know their way around the kitchen. This was our 2nd stay at the Magnolia Place B&B and it will not be our last. The owners are following current Covid guidelines. Check in involved no contact. Prior to arrival you are provided with a door code to enter the B&B. Upon entering envelopes with guests last names are waiting by the door. Inside are instructions for your stay. When in the public areas of the B&B masks and social distancing are required. The large wraparound porch is big enough that for the most part masks would not be required to enjoy the view. There are several rooms to choose from. Each has a private bathroom, some en-suite and some located near your room. When booking your choice of room the type of bathroom accommodation is clearly listed. My wife prefers having the bathroom en-suite so no surprises is important. Our room was tastefully decorated, very clean, neat and comfortable. I was concerned that social distancing would limit the quality of the breakfast. I need not have worried. Magnolia Place has a large breakfast room with several socially distanced tables. Included in our stay instructions was a breakfast time. This allowed for breakfast to be served without all of the guests being present at the same time. As for breakfast, both days Ron served an amazing gourmet meal. It is obvious that Ron puts a lot of thought into the meals he prepares. The items served all complement each other and change daily. These meals are delicious and home cooked. Nothing frozen or store prepared here. If your diet requires something special, just let Ron know ahead of time. For those who need their morning coffee there is no need to wait for your breakfast time. Coffee and a multitude of tea choices were available at 7:00 AM. Magnolia Place is conveniently located around 10 minutes north of Watkins Glen. There are several restaurants in Watkins Glen and nearby to choose from for dinner. During the day there are several wineries close by to tour. The local scenery is beautiful. Another in our party was told that there is a trail behind the B&B for hiking. I did not see this so other than knowing of it I cannot speak to it. I highly recommend Magnolia Place B&B. We are very particular about accommodations when traveling and would not have made this our second visit with plans for future visits if they had not met our expectations. read more

Gave my wife a surprise visit to hopefully catch a sunset from an east side of the lake place. Saw some good reviews for Magnolia and took a chance. No need to check around if you want the most romantic mind blowing sunset. On top of that, the most friendly people to invite you into their home. I felt like we were long time friends. And breakfast.... oh my.... don't miss that. We stayed in the lake room. It has a wrap around deck just outside your bedroom door. If I could give them an extra star, I gladly would. I have been a longtime fan of the Seneca Lakes area. In the Autumn, those hills sing and in the summer, the lake beckons. There is no finer and more luxurious choice than Magnolia House to make your stay in this poetic part of New York sublime. Rarely does one find perfection and attention to detail in one experience. Owners, Ron and Kathryn, are the kindest and most sensitive hosts you could ever meet. B&B stays for the inexperienced can be a little intimidating but their resident sweet lab pup Lexie is happy to chase away any jitters. You are here to relax and the wonderful people that run Magnolia will ensure your stay is not only pleasurable but memorable. The rooms are gorgeous, well stocked and charmingly decorated. Stepping into a magazine page. The hosts were kind enough to accommodate our weird arrival time so that the room would be ready. Breakfast here is nothing short of applause-worthy. Expertly prepared by Ron, the common dining area offers breath-taking views of the Lake. Sit back and enjoy freshly made coffee and a delightful homemade muffin light as a cloud. Unique (no humdrum here, people) savory and sweet breakfast options are available and are a highlight of your stay in Magnolia. Ron and Kathryn are expert hosts and will mingle and chat pleasantly with guests during mealtimes. They are also very generous with their knowledge of things to do and see in the area. Don't hesitate to ask! I will not stay anywhere else. Period. Magnolia or nothing. If you are looking to be in the Seneca Lake Area in the near future, be warned! Book your stay well in advance! Absolutely loved our stay here. We came up on Halloween weekend for a tour of the Seneca Wine Trail. The owners of the Magnolia, Ted and Terri, were super nice and very accommodating. They were very knowledgeable about the area and provided us with some good tips on places to visit. The Magnolia is a beautiful, huge house on Lake Seneca. Our room, the Lake Room, was beautifully decorated and has a veranda that overlooks Lake Seneca. The common areas are very well kept - Ted lights a fire in the fireplace every evening, which was nice. Breakfast was also amazing. Ted and Terri cooked creative, delicious breakfasts each morning. But, one of the stars of the show was the coffee they brewed. It was absolutely phenomenal - roasted locally and ground fresh every morning. Breakfast included two courses - a fresh fruit course and then a hot course. When we were there, breakfast featured pumpkin pancakes with cinnamon syrup one day and souffle two ways the next. So good. Anyway, I highly recommend staying here if you decide to visit the area. read more

This was my second visit to Magnolia House and I was so disappointed. I found it to be cold and sterile and totally lacking in the charm that I have come to associate with B&Bs. Using covid as an excuse, there is no personal contact at check-in. There is not a soul to help a senior citizen up a steep flight of steps with his/her suitcase as there always is in every other B&B I have been to. Breakfast wasn't the leisurely one course at a time again a B&B specialty. I was so surprised to receive all three courses at one time on one plate. Since the owners have no clue who is who, if you mentioned a food allergy, Ron announces to the entire group, who has the abc allergy to give you your food. The room, appeared clean, but had several bees and flies both dead and alive on the carpet. read more

Magnolia place was a wonderful addition to our trip to the finger lakes. The room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. We stayed in the lilac room which had its own bathroom and a private entrance outside the house. The The private porch area outside of our room had a gorgeous view of the lake and was very relaxing to sit and drink coffee. They're always snacks available, coffee and tea, cookies and candies and the hosts Terry and Ted are very gracious. This is a great B&B. A little pricey at $300 for 1 night but def worth it. read more

My husband and I unexpectedly got a day off and decided to take a last minute romantic getaway. I ended up booking a room at Magnolia and I am very glad I did! Ron, the owner was so accommodating. He even gave me a call when he noticed a snow storm in the forecast wishing us safe travels. Our eta for arrival at magnolia was ~7pm but traffic (through the snow storm) proved to be very challenging pushing our eta back to 3am. Ron was incredibly understanding and gave me detailed instructions on where to park and how to reach our room. We finally made it and we were happy to settle into our very clean and charming room. Woke up to coffee and an assortment of pre-breakfast snacks followed by a beautiful breakfast shortly after. Truly a great experience at magnolia and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay that's located close to several vineyards and breweries. My husband and I recently spent a weekend there celebrating our anniversary. The home is gorgeous, cozy and extremely inviting. The views from our room, The Lake Room, were breathtaking. The leaves were all changing and the lake reflected all if the colors. The Inn has quite a bit of land so in the morning before breakfast I would go for a walk and take in the natural beauty. Ted was a gracious host. His breakfasts were delicious and he is very knowledgeable about the area- wineries, restaurants, shops. At night an inviting fire invited us to sit in the living area and enjoy some wine. We would absolutely recommend this lovely Inn and we certainly intend on returning!! read more

Don't go here. My girlfriend and I wanted to find a cute little bed and breakfast in the fingerlakes while we were on our trip to NY, and the guy who ran the place overcharged us and was a total jerk. I called ahead earlier in the day to see if we could get a last-minute rate on a room since a lot of the other b&bs in the area offer deals, and he says "Well, I'll charge you $130 for the Lake room, it's normally $160." I then looked it up online and the rate through their website it $130, and I found it on hotels.com for $120. Then I asked him if there was wireless as well because some of the places don't, and he replied with another snide answer about how if you're in the house you can have wireless, but no where else. If you're okay with lying jerks, I guess throw away you money to him. read more

This is by far and away the best B&B I've stayed at! Ted and Terri are such kind and knowledgeable hosts - always willing to make reservations for you at one of the numerous yummy restaurants in the area. Terri was even kind enough to book us massage appointments (they'll come to the B&B) last minute! Ted is a wonderful cook, and we were definitely spoiled by his over the top breakfasts. We stayed in the Lake Room, and loved our view! A door opens up to the second floor deck where you can watch the sunset. From what I can tell, most of the rooms had the same spectacular view & each had its own unique theme/decor. We stayed for three nights in June and were completely impressed. The owners (Terri and Ted) were helpful, friendly and gracious. The breakfasts were wonderful and the coffee great. When I had trouble signing onto the wireless, they replaced the router to get me back in business. Their recommendations about things to see and do in the Finger Lakes were great (the Curtiss Museum is not to be missed and we enjoyed every winery they suggested). I would highly recommend Magnolia Place to my friends and family. read more

The owners are very careful about bringing your food into your room, or checking in before 4PM even though the room is ready. If you have kids, they will not let you stay here, period. So if you don't have children, don't mind walking across the hall for the bathroom (lake room), or sneaking a banana into your room, then by all means, this is a good place. read more

I had an AMAZING time at Magnolia Place. We were the only couple at the B&B because we stayed in the middle of winter during the weekday. We stayed in the Lilac room which was huge! It had it's own fireplace, couch and Jacuzzi room. Ted and Terry were excellent hosts as well as their friendly dog, Irish. The decor of the B&B was very tasteful - every detail from the lamps to the pillows to even the towel racks and clothing hooks were carefully coordinated and hand-picked with love. The breakfasts each morning were absolutely delicious! We were always so stuffed we didn't really feel like eating lunch. There was a large selection of recent as well as older movies, which we leisurely watched in the common living room (also with a lovely fireplace). There was also a guest pantry that had wine glasses, cheese boards and knives and a fridge for storing wines. I highly recommend this B&B. We truly felt Magnolia Place was like our home during the three nights we stayed. The next time we come back to the finger lakes for wine tasting, we will definitely stay here again!! read more

I recently returned from a quick stay at the Magnolia Place B&B with my boyfriend. We had a fantastic time! Ted and Terry were very friendly, and their dog Irish was so much fun. The B&B was very empty during our stay, which I must say I enjoyed very much. We stayed in the Rose room and loved having the outdoor access with the veranda and the private bath. The breakfast was consistently delicious, and the atmosphere was very comforting. I would definitely recommend staying here. read more
