I've stayed here now and love it. 10/10 recommend. Cozy and great location. Clean as well.

Great hotel. I had to take one star off for the lack of coffee. There was never anything more than a few drops of it in the tank and we were always on the go so didn't stop and ask. Other than that, no complaints besides the wall remote not working. But I didn't mind that. Room was nice and cold from the AC. Everything was clean. Self pour beers were cool. Front desk was personable and gave good advice for places to check out. I wouldn't get here late to park your car, but a lot is in walking distance any way if you're able bodied. Would stay here again. Just bring my own coffee.

Adorable! A bit pricey but totally renovated and has many in-room conveniences like power shades, heat and cool control, and a renovated bathroom (I miss having a tub though). Downstairs is covered in cartoon style murals of the area, the common area has couch seating with a fireplace and tv plus some entertainment like games and books, with a mini pub height dining area and common fridge. You can buy small snacks, although I suggest you walk the 15-20 minutes downtown to grab some food. You pass by some pretty streams on the way and gorgeous homes. Don't eat too much, the walk back is uphill. There was a cat staying at the hotel when I was there, and I of course tried to make her love me. The highlight, besides the adorable dorm set up (sink in your room, sure!) is the wine tap downstairs. It's card activated, so grab a glass and tap to pour. Many styles of rooms available too.

Lounge is really charming and plays the Cornell theme with humor and warmth.

Place has character and charm!! Literally steps from Cornell's gorgeous campus, the Dorm Hotel is a Cornell dorm room themed boutique hotel. The proximity is especially a bonus given the ample free on-site parking including the EV charging station. Just get your comfortable campus shoes ready and walk to Cornell. Run and owned by a Cornell Hotel School alum, this establishment is a testament to the world class status of the Hotel School. The place feels hip, relevant, quirky and warm all at the same time. I personally liked the self-pour local craft beer and wine bar in the lounge. Our room the "Sophomore" was very sweet. Furnished with a very comfortable Queen sized bed, a desk with bench and a very charming (spic & span clean) and modern sink area and bathroom. A central control has all the settings for the window blind, lights and temperature control. My only critique is that a comfortable chair in the corner would have added to the amenities. Beth at the front desk was charming and very helpful. We were late strolling around the stunning campus and forgot about our check-out time. They contacted us and were very understanding and thankfully low key when we arrived a good 30 minutes later. Very friendly rate given the property. We would definitely recommend and return to this "dorm"!

The Dorm is all about Big Red!

The front desk person was super friendly and made a great first impression. The room was cozy (small), very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the ac was cold, never ran out of hot water. We enjoyed the close proximity to the university and downtown, and the beer and wine on tap. The apricot wheat beer was really tasty! My only cons would be that you can hear everything; people walking down the stairs and talking, walking above you. And parking is tricky. Other than that I'd definitely stay here again. Ithaca is an amazing town and we will absolutely be back.

So many good things about this place, but a few negatives that slightly marred the experience…read more First, the areas for improvement: 1.) none of the USB ports at the bedside tables worked. None of the four. It's a mild inconvenience, to be sure, but having to plug everything up on the opposite side of the room was a pain. 2.) my shower wasn't clean. It's a lovely big shower with a little ledge inside for sitting/shaving, but mine had crusted soap (I guess?) from a previous and stuck to the ledge, there was hair in the shower, and shampoo (I guess) on the walls. Neither the hair, nor the old shampoo were mine. 3.) I could have sworn I selected the option for breakfast being included. I paid $250 for the room. Turns out I was mistaken and had to pay for my breakfast. In the grand scheme of things not the worst thing in the world, but when you're paying $250 a night breakfast shouldn't be an additional charge. This is a Canopy property, so of course the decor is stunning. There's a lovely fireplace in the lobby, and from the light fixtures to the artfully displayed knick-knacks all over the property, this place reads luxury. A few good things: 1.) the employees. There's an airport shuttle from Ithaca, and when the manager, Charis, came to get me he was incredibly kind. He took my bag to the hotel and dropped me at a local restaurant so I could enjoy happy hour oysters, AND he came back an hour later to pick me up. SO kind. Sam in the restaurant made breakfast a delight. She moved quickly and pays attention to guest needs. Great response time and knowledgeable about the menu. 2.) there's a free shuttle for local stops near the hotel. This is honestly the reason I chose this location as opposed to any other, and this free shuttle availability saved me at least $100 on Ubers during my day/night in town. They really don't mind running you here and there, and it's a wonderful little treat. 3.) breakfast is great. I was torn between the Eggs Benedict or the Lox, and at Sam's recommendation I opted for the Eggs Benedict. GREAT choice. The hollandaise is delicious, the bacon is crispy, and the English muffin is perfectly toasted. Poached eggs are an art form as far as I'm concerned, and these are beautifully done. The breakfast menu here in general looks great, and if this dish is any indication, you likely can't go wrong. 4.) they're actively working to reduce plastics at this location. I love that there are glass bottles in the room that you can fill with ice and filtered water on every floor. Talk about intentional. Kudos on this front. 5.) getting a late check out was easy. 6.) the location is ideal for exploring the Commons, a pedestrian block of little places that's crawling with college kids. It's easy to walk to a local bar and have a quick drink, but be careful where you go...I went to the Chantillery (or some such nonsense), and they absolutely scammed me on the one drink I ordered. The good things about this place far out number the negative, but for $250 a night, this should be a 5-star experience. Even though the hotel fell short in a few ways, the people here would encourage me to come back. I'd just ask housekeeping to go over the room once more before I checked in.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the Canopy by Hilton that I feel others should be aware…read moreof. I briefly pulled into the parking lot to get my belongings, and instead of being treated with basic courtesy, I was confronted by a staff member who spoke to me in a threatening and aggressive manner. It was completely unprofessional and honestly shocking for a hotel that presents itself as upscale. On top of that, the parking situation is absolutely terrible. The layout is confusing, spaces are limited, and it feels very poorly managed. Even if you are a guest, it doesn't seem like there's any effort to make parking convenient or stress-free. Between the hostile interaction and the frustrating parking setup, I would not recommend staying here. There are plenty of other hotels that treat people with respect and don't make something as simple as parking a headache.
