Staying at the Hilton Garden Inn was a disappointing experience. From the beginning, the staff was surly. We stayed 4 nights and all three of the front desk staff we interacted with were either rude or, at best, unfriendly. Worst part was after we discovered that housekeeping didn't provide us with enough towels or toilet paper (4 of us in the room) we tried to get more sent to us. The employee informed us that housekeeping was long gone and he was not interested/willing to help us with the supplies we needed. When I asked when someone else might help me he said he had no idea. Frustrating. If this were a 2 star hotel I would understand. But we paid $300/night and the service was far far below what we expect from a 4-star Hilton. Also of note - the rugs were dirty and were drenched in cleaning product smell (perhaps it used to be a smoking room?). Really gross. read more

I've stayed at this Hilton a few times. It's affordable and a good location in the middle of everything we needed to see. I come up here every few years to visit family, so having a hotel so close to everyone and at a good price is very important to me. The service is always good! The continental breakfast was decent, but the service of the older lady working the dining area was the icing on the cake! I can't remember her name, but she worked there for over 20 years when I was last there (2020). I hope she's well! read more

Hilton Garden Inn Ithaca, I had a great stay for our week long conference. I was in town for a conference that was held inside the hotel. Everything we needed was here, no need to go out in town. There's even an Irish bar attached to the hotel!? Check in was easy peasy, after I received my room key I was whisked upstairs to my room. Walking in, I see new furniture and updated bathroom fixtures. My only pet peeve? Look at the bathroom sink, I hate leaning in to get to the water. Every morning, I woke up early and walked into the little courtyard town to get coffee. Ithaca is a college town, there are lots of fun, funky restaurants that is within walking distance from the hotel. I had a nice hotel stay for the week and would return if visiting Ithaca. We don't travel often however this Summer something has become clear... hotels and areas outside of a downtown or larger city are often better maintained and higher level of service. Perhaps it's because of their location and trying to attract business. Unless you have to be downtown, this may work for you but if not look outside the area. And travelers please do not smoke or vape in hotels. It's very unpleasant for the next guest and the associates that try clean the room and mask your stench that sticks to everything after you leave. HGI Corning is not far and was really nice. Not sure if it's the brand but the beds need changing as they tend to squeak which we experienced at both properties but Corning was a better stay and cute one main street town. read more

We stayed 2 nights and were very happy with our choice of lodging since the room was good size and nicely appointed. The location is ideal since it is but a block away from the Commons. In-house dining options are currently limited to a pricey and not well attended breakfast buffet. We felt we were better off walking to the commons where the options for breakfast, lunch and dinner are numerous and diverse. The hotel staff proved to be uniformly pleasant and informative. There are free newspapers at the front desk plus coffee in the morning and ice water later in the day. Some have voiced displeasure with the offsite parking situation, but we found it easy to access the lot from a side entrance and there is an unattended side exit for the Inn's guests that empties onto Seneca Street. read more

I rarely rarely put any comments. However, we are paying for so much money for this not 5 star hotel this week. When we are appointed to the room, we were directed to the floor where so many fans were blowing loudly outside the hallway. We asked the front desk and the lady was like there was some water issue and they are resolving. And I realized that our rooms(2rooms) are still wet in the carpet? I am spending so much money here this weekend and they don't even care as they are completely booked? We have never ever experienced this kind of situation. read more

I had a fabulous stay here. The location was within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Cornell University is about a a 30 minute uphill walk. The hotel is very clean and staff are spectacular! I really enjoyed room 834 with the grand view, pink walls, modern decor, and storage. The room was spacious and the heating/cooling was quiet. I couldn't hear anyone talking through the walls. It was overall a great experience. The hotel's lighting adjusts to the time of day. I have stayed at this property twice. The staff is always great. The hotel is located in a great area. It's right across the street from the Commons. Lots of great shops and restaurants within walking distance. There is free self parking in the garage across the street. You have to be sure to get a yellow tag from the front desk though or you will get a ticket from the City of Ithaca. Unfortunately they do not offer room service, but Kilpatrick's Irish Pub and Starbucks are both located onsite and have food available. There is also a small market in the lobby that has snacks and drinks. I didn't use the pool or the gym while I was there so I cannot comment on that. The rooms are mostly quiet. They come equipped with a microwave and small refrigerator. I travel to the area often and look forward to returning to this hotel again in the future. read more

Location is good and convenient if you want to walk around the downtown area. When we arrived, person at front desk was not welcoming or friendly. Complimentary parking was appreciated, but we had to ask for directions and procedures for parking in the garage and validation, which we learned were different the second day of our stay. The room was clean with typical layout. But could not get the TV to work- -different than any other hotel TV we've experienced! We did not expect daily cleaning service, but no daily towel service either? If that is the case, then provide enough towel racks to hang them up to dry! The room temp was impossible to get right, no numbered temp control except a dial (warmer or colder). Breakfast was unsatisfactory both in quality and service. Next time we will stay in the outlying Ithaca area at the Hampton Inn, close to many restaurants and shopping areas. read more

Absolutely fantastic. Ann and Dwayne were extremely pleasant, and the stay has been excellent. The check in process was smooth, and everything was clearly explained upon arrival. They had a room ready for us an hour early, and great suggestions for the area on top of the booklet they had for us. The facility itself is excellent. Extremely clean. Not "covid" clean, I mean genuinely clean and cared for. Dare I say, without fault. I don't understand why such an establishment has such a low cost. The pool looked nice, but by the evening there were several towels sitting around. The fitness center is nicer, and has a better variety of equipment, than my local planet fitness. If I had to point out something lacking, it would be that the business area is just a computer in the lobby with a printer. Honestly, what else is needed than the ability to print? The night clerk at the desk wasn't very friendly or interested in saying much at all, but the staff in the daytime was great. If the valet had top hats, I'd say it was on par with the Ritz-Carlton. read more

Exactly what you expected from Hilton Garden Inn (in a good way). The one thing I need to mention to you is the parking!! If you're a parking worry wart like me this is for you. There is free parking in a parking garage next to the hotel. We ended up pulling up to the hotel and getting a tag from the main desk, but You can just into the parking garage (and have them validate it before you leave). If you're looking at the hotel's main entrance, the parking garage is on the street to the right. Also, the hotel is connected to a few other businesses which I thought was cool! We went to the Irish pub next door which you can actually stay inside the whole time to access. read more

Very friendly employees, clean and comfortable beds. Rooms are new and room colors are fresh amd relaxing. The minus 1 star is for the dessert available at the little self served market in the lobby. Don't not buy the $7.50 Sugar& Slice cake cup. I don't know how one can make a cake with buttercream , sugar etc, so tasteless and lacking texture. One of the worse desserts I've had in a long time . Great place to stay in Ithaca! Friendly staff at the front desk who are very helpful and informative. There was always coffee and lemon water available in the lobby which was super refreshing on hot days! Room was comfortable and clean. Didn't use the gym or pool but those areas were also well kept. Didn't use the "grill" for breakfast because there are so many good options in Ithaca but did get a cup of coffee there from a nice guy named Scott (they were out up front and the helpful front desk person said I could get a cup in the grill) Parking is free in the garage across the street. Location is great...right by The Commons so there is plenty to eat and drink nearby. Also, it was only about a mile to Ithaca Falls and I loved wandering the streets downtown to look at all the beautiful Victorian style houses. I'm a fan of Hilton Garden Inns in general, but this one in particular. read more

Don't recommend this Hilton. If everything else in this desirable area is booked and you need a place to stay, maybe. The decor is tired and the service consists of checking in, so if you have the app, virtually no service. Not even lobby coffee. At check-out I informed staff that there had been no shampoo in the dispenser in my room. Their response? Not, "We're so sorry." but a rather disinterested, "Thanks for letting us know." The staff went above and beyond to be sure my son got his special teddy bear back after leaving it in the hotel room. They were very understanding of how much stuffies mean to kids and said the bear was the second one they were sending back home that week. He arrived within days with a post it that said "yay". We had a great stay at the hotel, everything was kept up well and the room were comfy and clean. The cold spa water in the lobby was much appreciated as we returned in the summer heat each day. The hotel is conveniently located right off the commons, so dining and shopping are just steps away. Just be prepared that parking is in the garage prior to the hotel entrance. We parked in front to check in and get luggage up to our room and then drove back around to park. Parking is validated, so that is helpful. Stayed a few nights here for a career fair event. The king bedroom looks just like the photos. The bed itself was heaven. Room was clean. The commons across the street was okay...not what I was expecting but I'm comparing it to places in California. Seems abandoned until after lunch. I did appreciate the restaurant onsite. Food and service was great. I walked down and brought it up but they can bring it too you. Staff at front desk was also super friendly! Warning: Uber/lyft isn't as popular here so check times when ordering. Again I'm from CA and just used to there being drovers everywhere. My husband and I were here 10/13-10/15. He attended Cornell MANY years ago and we decided to stay at the Hilton garden Inn If I could give more stars I would esp for the staff! Hours before our arrival I was texted by Regine, Jerris and Jason asking if we needed anything prior to our arrival They also texted after we arrived to see if we enjoyed our stay ! When we walked through the doors Jerris greeted us with a huge smile and a big wave hello! All the front desk staff answered questions about directions and things to do especially the hiking trails and gorges ... there was also a shuttle to drop us off at Cornell We will definitely be back next year. I am someone who travels often for work and leisure. I recently took a trip to Ithaca, NY for a 24-hour getaway. I decided to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, adjacent to the Ithaca Commons. This place was amazing! The staff at the front desk was probably the best staff that I have encountered in a long time. So helpful, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Stayed two nights while visiting Cornell. Great location downtown. Room was modern, spacious, and very clean; beds comfortable. Very quiet on our floor, with a nice view out from back window seating area. Checking in and out was very fast and the staff are knowledgeable and pleasant. Nice touch of lemon water available in the lobby (hot days when we were there). Snacks available for purchase too. Had dinner in the pub Kilpatrick's one night. Friendly service, really excellent food. We did not try the breakfast in the Garden Grille (we thought $15 was a little pricey). Parking is free in the garage across the side street with validation. Really great location since youu can walk around Ithaca (my favorite part of our visit)...lots of fun and unique shops, restaurants, live music...so fun...okay so back to the hotel. In addition to its great location the folks working here are so pleasant and upbeat. Service is great. The HBO2 channel went out in the middle of the movie we were watching so they gave us a credit to watch whatever movie we wanted. It would have been nicer if I didn't have to call them the next morning to get it removed from the hotel bill...though when I did call, they took care of it. Incredibly friendly staff!! I think this is the friendliest hotel I've ever stayed at! Everyone always greeted you with a smile and pleasant demeanor, even when they were busy. The front desk area was very well decorated and always had coffee and water available. The only negative about this hotel is that our bathroom had a hole in the wall and was not very clean when we first arrived. The hole was next to the toilet and there was hair in the bath tub. Otherwise everything was lovely. They were very accommodating and I would stay here again. Highly recommend staying here for a conference or visiting friends. There is a Starbucks and restaurant bar right under the hotel and you are walking distance to a ton of great shops and restaurants. read more

My room had a great view of the hill of the campus and it just made it more memorable. The rooms were spacious and comfortable - I couldn't remember anything I didn't like about it. A fine place to stay, but not worth the Hilton price. Pros: - great location (across from the commons) - fairly quiet (we were on the 8th floor -- no street noise and only once heard our neighbors) - microwave and fridge in room - exterior and lobby are lovely (newly renovated) Cons: - high humidity (our floor had kind of a damp feel in the air) - A/C was middling (no matter how high you crank it, it never gets cold) - mold in the chaulking of our bathtub - the rooms are fine but a little dingier than you would expect at a Hilton - the front desk wasn't rude but they didn't have that overly accompanying vibe that you expect from a nice hotel. Sometimes requests felt like a bit of a bargain - pricey amenities (parking, breakfast not included) - pool is as pictured, a bit of a letdown - the breakfast area is kind of public for my pjs (the hotel lobby connects to a very tiny indoor mall) For additional context, I would've given them three stars but my family argued for one because of the mold. My aunt felt pretty strongly about having a clean bathroom, which I guess is fair. But it's worth mentioning that a manager named April came upon request to deal with the mold and was super nice, made our stay a lot nicer. read more

Overall good experience. If I came back to Ithaca I would consider staying here again simply because of the location and the price. If I didn't care so much about that I might look elsewhere for something more renovated. Pros: -free parking next to the hotel -very clean lobby -friendly staff -great location right next to the Ithaca Commons -Large Room with a nice view of Cornell Clocktower Cons: -Rooms, although clean, are a little outdated. The carpet had some stains and overall it could just use an update -the room didn't have enough lighting, seemed very dark -Gym was supposed to be cleaned between each guest due to Covid. If you're looking for a good hotel in Ithaca, I highly suggest staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. Not only was it convenient in terms of location since I had been in Ithaca two weekends ago for my brother's graduation at Cornell University, but everything was easily accessible whether it be restaurants, drugstores, gift shops, etc. Since I'm not much of a traveler, I always find it difficult booking hotels because it's one thing to look at pictures, and an entirely different thing to actually check-in and realise you've been deceived. Fortunately, the Hilton Garden Inn in Ithaca was nothing like that and check-in was not only a breeze, but our accommodations were perfect too. We could even see Cornell University from our room and the nearby lake, and for those caffeine addicts like myself, there's a Starbucks conveniently located right downstairs. However, the reason for my giving four stars instead of five is the issue that came about when I was trying to check-out. When I had originally checked in, I had asked the front desk staff if I could change my accommodations to a one night stay instead of two because my brother had decided we would spend the rest of the week with his in-laws in Watertown since he would no longer be staying at Cornell after graduation. And while the front desk had no problems changing my stay, letting me know that it would be a higher cost for the night, but still cheaper than staying for two nights, they did not leave any note on my account for future desk staff members, so that when I tried to check out the next morning--which was smooth enough--I ended up receiving a distressed call from the front desk moments later alerting me to the fact that I should've been staying two nights, instead of one and had already been charged. Fortunately, I was still in the vicinity, and went back in person to settle everything and Rachel, the new desk staff was completely apologetic and understanding. Overall, I still think the Hilton Garden Inn is a great accommodation for visitors, but I do caution people to double check that if there are any changes made to your stay, to make sure that there are notes made on the account. Otherwise, it just makes for one hell of a complication. read more

I recently got married in Ithaca and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Ithaca, along with most of our guests. It was the PERFECT hotel for a wedding. I 100% recommend it for other weddings. The staff was amazing, incredibly helpful, accommodating, and friendly. The rooms were perfect for a wedding stay -- fridges to keep food and beer cold, microwaves for leftovers. I honestly couldn't have imagined a hotel working out better for our weekend. Also, one highlight was that the staff allowed a small after party in a room to continue merrymaking in the lobby after a noise complaint. In a town where bars close at 1 AM but wedding guests want to continue to socialize (with the bride!), this was a perfect compromise. THANK YOU so much to the staff that allowed this--you made my wedding weekend even better than I could have hoped. read more
