Saw this place on Instagram and decided to try it out while on the scenic wine route. Conveniently located just past Watkins Glen. A fourth generation dairy farm that excels in cheese and ice cream. We tried the 8 flight. 4 cheeses 4 ice creams. All were delicious. I tried the peach habernero Quark and immediately needed to buy one in the case. Its a super protein and so creamy. I can't wait to pair it with celery sticks for a nice snack. They offer a few coffee drinks as well. I ordered a caramel Americano. Next time I am in the area I will definitely come by again!

Stopping at Shtayburne Farm was the highlight of our trip to the Finger Lakes. The ice cream and cheese flight is unique and amazing, and you get to support a local family business. If you make one stop while you're in the area, stop here! We came by for, of course, the ice cream and cheese flight. We each decided to get the 12 flight option for $26- a great deal and a great idea! When you head in their shop, you pick up a paper and write down your selections. You can choose to do as many of a kind as you like- you could do just cheese or just ice cream. They prep your board and number your paper so you can tell what each item is. You can sit inside or outside, but I would recommend outside- the view is fantastic! The ice creams are absolutely amazing, and there's a lot of variety in the flavors. The cheese is the highlight, though. They have some of the best cheese I have ever had. Try the select cheddar and the quark- so good! We didn't stop by for another flight, but we did buy a cooler to bring some cheese home! Stop by!

Great place to stop by and get a flight of cheese and ice cream tasting! They have great selections of both items. My favorites were the butter garlic, tomato basil, chicken wings, and their signature cheese curds. I also thought their cherry chocolate chunk ice cream was delightful. If you're staying in Geneva or on your way to Watkins Glen, I highly recommend stopping by and support their local business!

Ice cream or cheese tasting - sign me up! We came for the ice cream tasting - soooo good! You get 4 choices of 1 scoop & all the flavors are so creamy & yummy! We all loved our tasting! They also offer cheese tasting which we were going to come back for but didn't get a chance. This is an Amish run farm & you can go in & just buy ice cream or cheese without doing a tasting. You can also watch thru the window the people making the cheese! Great concept & a welcome relief from all the wine we were drinking!

We love this place and continue to go every time we visit. We get the cheese tasting and includes a good amount of each cheese along with some crackers and jam. You can visit the calfs and cows while you're there or just relax and enjoy the beautiful view. The staff are very kind and helpful as well. They also make ice cream that's delish! You can sometimes watch them making the cheese if you go during those times. True Amish cheese and ice cream.

Amazing! Ice cream and cheese flights are so good. We got a 12 count and went back for a second round! Comes with little crackers and jam. Great scenery with plenty of seating outside and several tables inside too. The best coffee ice cream I've ever had. They also sell frozen cold brews that are refreshing and delicious.

We stopped here for a cheese tasting on our way to Geneva. We got the flight of 8 cheeses, I believe it was $13. They have a smaller flight and a larger flight and you can combine cheeses and icecreams as you wish. All of the cheese was delicious, we couldn't finish it all and took some of it home with us. The only issue was it was SO HOT inside the facility. The air conditioner must have not been working properly, so we weren't able to sit and enjoy our cheese as long as we would've liked to.

My wife and I stopped by this creamery located a few minutes out of Watkins Glen. We got a flight of cheeses ice cream. There were man options to pick from. All were delicious and I believe made on site. Very creamy and delicious!

The most interesting place. I had never heard of a cheese flight much less an ice cream flight. You can combine them. My husband and I shared an 8 flight tray - 4 cheeses and 4 ice cream. Wonderful cheese and ice cream!

Absolutely charming and unique place, the ice creams were all wonderful and the quark we tried (new food to me) was exceptional! Highly recommend a stop here.

The ice cream and cheese flight is fantastic. What a fun concept. The ice cream was so good and the cheese was easy as well. A unique experience that I'm glad we tried!!! Lots of outside seating but not a lot of shade.

We visited for ice cream during our trip to the Finger Lakes on an inclement weather day. We had heard great things about their ice cream and cheese flights, and knowing that the ice cream would be divine coming right from the source on a farm, we had to stop. Shtayburne is nicely situated right on a main drag with wineries, so it's easy to get to. They have ample parking but a fairly small dining area. Luckily, we were able to snag seats but on a summer day, I could imagine it would be hard to find seating (although probably easy to walk around outside and enjoy your treats). We wound up just getting scoops instead of the flight, and we focused on just ice cream instead of cheese. Their flavor offerings included some unique flavors (like strawberry jalapeno) but also more classic flavors (like vanilla and maple walnut). I got a regular scoop in a cup, and I was happy that I could split flavors (being as indecisive as I am, this is always a welcome perk). I opted for the key lime and the coffee heath crunch. The quality of the ice cream was so high - you can tell they use their farm-fresh ingredients to make a top notch product. I wish the scoops had more "stuff" in them to give more crunch and texture, but the scoops themselves were so creamy and light, making for an excellent treat. My husband opted for the red raspberry crunch and the s'mores in a waffle cone, which he also enjoyed. At $4 for a regular scoop (+$1 for a waffle cone), it's a great deal for high quality, farm-fresh ice cream. I would highly recommend Shtayburne for anyone looking for a sweet treat during their visits to the Finger Lakes. I would love to make it back to try a flight and some cheese!

On a recent trip upstate, I heard about this creamery from a friend who had gone herself. Upon arriving, we all got a strong scent of cow dung but that's how you know it's a legit farm, right? FYI, to get a tour, you need to call in advance (more than 24 hours) to make sure that someone is there to give you the tour. Otherwise you're able to walk around and take a peek at the cows and calves for yourself! I'm getting ahead of myself though. Before our self guided tour, we went to the store to sample the ice cream offerings! Shtayburne Farms is very smart to offer flight options (for both ice cream and cheese). Since I'm lactose intolerant I pick and choose (though clearly I was still going to eat some) and decided to go all out on the ice cream. I shared a flight of 8 with my sister and we had a ball. We tried: Coffee Heath Crunch, Summer Berry, Cookie Dough, Grasshopper Pie, Toasted Kettlecorn, S'mores, Peach Cobbler and Red Raspberry Sorbet The overall verdict is that everyone in my family felt that everything they tried was very fresh and creamy. Some personal highlights, the Peach Cobbler was very creative and on the nose from a flavor perspective. I really enjoyed this one. The Red Raspberry Sorbet was super refreshing and though I know they're a creamery, honestly I wish they had more sorbets! The Summer Berry was quite pleasant as well and very seasonally appropriate. The Toasted Kettlecorn is an honorable mention because it was very unique and was reminiscent of salted caramel (in a popcorn sort of way). This one was one of my bf's favorites from the flight. My sister's bf got a cheese flight as well and he was very happy with the ones he had. Italian herb seemed to be the favorite (a hard cheese) and he also enjoyed a five year aged cheese which he described as funky (but in a good way). We did take a peek at the cows so see attached pics! All in all, if you're ever passing through or in the area going to Watkins Glen State Park, you have to make the stop, it'll definitely be worth it!

The cheese and ice cream flight was such a treat on a hot day.

It was actually something my husband had come across while planning our visit, and we're so glad we made the stop. It was a hot afternoon, so pairing the cheese tasting with a cold beer and a hard apple cider felt like the perfect choice. You purchase your tasting tickets at the counter along with your drinks and then head to one of their tasting areas. We sampled 12 different cheeses while our hostess walked us through each one, explaining how it was made and the best ways to enjoy it. Every cheese was delicious, but our favorite was the Red Rider, which had just the right amount of heat. One thing we really enjoyed was that you can buy your favorite cheeses along with crackers and condiments, and they'll provide a cheese board and knife so you can put together your own lunch. We picked red rider cheese block, ordered another round of drinks, and spent an hour enjoying our own little cheese board. The property is beautiful, with plenty of Adirondack chairs overlooking a large open lawn. It was simply too hot for us to sit outside, so we stayed indoors, but I can imagine how lovely it would be on a cooler day. I also discovered a mustard-based condiment during the tasting that I loved so much I ended up buying five jars to take home as gifts for family and friends. If you're visiting the Finger Lakes, Muranda Cheese Company is absolutely worth the stop. Between the guided tasting, the beautiful setting, and the opportunity to build your own cheese board, it makes for a fun and memorable experience.

I was dying to visit, because they offer cheese tastings, so I'll start my review by describing that experience! You walk up to the bar, tell them you want to do a cheese tasting, and they had you a ticket. Then you can walk to one of their two tasting areas (you'll see long tables with staff on one side and customers on the other, with lots of cloches with cheese under them) and get started on your tasting. You get to try 12 cheeses, and they give you a little tasting sheeting so you can rate and take notes on the cheeses. It only takes a few minutes, but it was fun and a great way to learn about their cheeses. If you're not into a cheese tasting or if you want more than just the tasting, they offer charcuterie boards, Finger Lakes wine, wine slushies, beers, cider, and non-alcoholic drinks. You can also buy a block of cheese and eat that, too! I did the cheese tasting (fun - and I liked most of the cheeses), and we shared a wine slushie as well. We arrived pretty close their closing time, but I was glad we had time to experience what Muranda has to offer! They have a shop in the back, where they sell their cheeses, wines, pottery, and other Finger Lakes products. There's also an amazing patio off the shop, with gorgeous views, rocking chairs, and tables. They host live music at this really cool stage above the bar. So you can eat cheese, have a drink, and listen to some live music in a beautiful barn? Sold. It's a fun time. And I recommend it between wine tastings or other activities you get up to in the Finger Lakes!

The staff was warm and welcoming, and they generously offered samples so we could explore the flavors before committing (dangerous, because they're all incredible). We ultimately chose three flavors: * Cookie Monster (Real Cookies & Cream) -- Their take on cookies & cream is next‑level. It's built on their handcrafted vanilla cream base and loaded with hearty chunks of their own legendary chocolate chip cookies. Think of an ice cream sandwich turned inside out--rich, decadent, and deeply satisfying. * Fleur Bleu -- A gorgeous blend of local organic blueberries, subtle French lavender, and their classic vanilla cream. It's delicate, floral, and beautifully balanced. This one kept us slowing down each bite just to savor the nuance. * Ditch Mint Chip -- Made with hand‑picked fresh mint and dark chocolate chips. Bright, refreshing, and leagues above the artificial mint flavor you get elsewhere. It was excellent, though admittedly overshadowed by the other two standouts. The frozen custard itself is among the best we've ever tasted--rich, creamy, and unbelievably smooth thanks to their signature use of local duck eggs. Even the vanilla base was a sleeper hit, with a depth of flavor you don't expect until it hits you. The setting is perfect for a Finger Lakes outing.
