Nice little road trip stop with big portions for very reasonable prices! Has tables outside to relax in for a bit as well. They only take cash/check so keep that in mind. Ordered: Junior Cone Vanilla and Chocolate Twist Soft Serve (pretty big serving even though junior's the size between toddler and small) Root Beer Soft Serve Float Nachos (a bit salty but still a nice hot savory snack) Total: 11.50 read more

Yummy stop off the road for ice cream. Kids loved the little stop for a quick snack. We ordered the Oreo shake, a little too sweet for us. The dole whip reminded me of Disney and had to try it. Came as a swirl in strawberry and pineapple flavor. Pineapple is yummier than strawberry. We also tried different scoops, lemon sorbet and coffee. Service was excellent and fast. read more

I am incredibly disappointed with my experience today in Ice Cream Bar. We ordered two soft serve ice creams, but the chocolate flavor tasted very off--almost sour. It wasn't just us, either; we overheard two other customers complaining about the exact same issue. When we brought this up, the owner became upset and defensive. He claimed he tasted it himself and completely disagreed that it tasted sour. Despite his attitude, he did offer us a choice between a replacement or a refund. I opted for the refund, but instead of simply processing it, he became judgmental and started interrogating me about why I had eaten some of the ice cream before asking for my money back. If multiple customers are telling you your product tastes bad, arguing with them and then guilt-tripping them for accepting a refund *you* offered is terrible customer service. I took the refund and went to another shop 3 mins north, which has better ice cream. To give them credits, they are conveniently located across the Trumansburg fair and the hard ice cream was decent. read more

Super cute ice cream place on the main road, right across from a local diner(also very cute!). Family owned and operated, the pride of ownership is everywhere. Plenty of cute, clean seating. Lots of choices in addition to their soft serve; Purity ice cream, floats, slushies, and Dole Whip! They also serve snacks, and gluten free cones read more

Ice Cream Bar - Located right on 96 - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Trumansburg, New York

The cutest local ice cream shop! Reminds me of the ice cream place I went to growing up in my hometown as well as the local ice cream place my friends would take me to in Cape Cod. They all have that charm that you can't pull away from and even if you're on a diet, you have to dine in just to support those local businesses. Not only is the ice cream delicious, the cone sizes have great names! You've got baby (which truly is petite), toddler, junior, small, medium large. With the exception of Baby, most adults would likely prefer toddler or junior. Their sprinkle game is on point and if you're like me and debating between cookie dough and chocolate peanut butter, you should go all in on the cookie dough! The chocolate peanut butter was good, but when I got to the cookie dough flavor, all I had to say was, "man, wish i got all cookie dough." read more

Badly outdated reviews. Place has new (about 6 months) NYC owners and changes have created a sloppy and uncomfortable vibe. Now serving beer and wine with (small portions) ice cream. Weird. Not "cute" any more. Too bad. read more

Great ice cream in a no-frills setting. But plenty of tables to eat. The sprinkles and cotton candy Ice cream was really good (esp pleasing for the 5 year old). read more

This is the most amazing ice cream. We plan our vacation around when it will be open, that's how good it is. Can't wait to visit soon! No matter how full from lunch you are, there is always room for Not My Dads Soft Serve. LOVE it, Love it, love it! read more

Well, my family and I arrived at 20:25 and were promptly told "we are closing at 8:30!" Hours posted stated 22:00 closing time. Ok, so we quickly glanced over the choices. Asked about toppings (as I didn't see a menu for them) and the young lady didn't seem to know the answer. We all quickly ordered. Got done, looked at each other and decided it wasn't worth the poor customer service. read more

Got a classic twist cone with a chocolate dip and my girlfriend got a twist with a cherry dip. It was perfect and had a nice chocolate flavor with classic vanilla. Our friends got the chili dogs and they had rave reviews about them! No frills kind of place with solid ice cream. I'll definitely be coming back when I'm in town! read more

Yummy ice cream! This was a pit stop on the way home. I tried the Bulldog Crunch which was praline ice cream, caramel swirl, and chocolate covered pecans. It was delicious, the prices were great for the amount you were given(see photo below), and the service was prompt! read more

My personal favorite ice cream parlor in the area! They have delicious soft serve. In addition, the offer milkshakes and Purity hard ice cream. Not-my-dad's will always be a summer staple of Trumanburg! read more

Mom lives in Trumansburg so this is an extremely well-frequented haunt. In fact, my girls go there _every_night_ that they are visiting Grandma. The soft serve is delicious. The ice cream is delicious (chocolate peanutbutter.......mmmmmm) - the food? Meh, I don't recommend. But the ice cream.......oh my. It's a definite must stop if you are traveling on route 96 through Trumansburg....... read more

If you like soft serve and big portions this is the place to go. The toppings and dips are varied and include things I've never had before. If you are jonesing for some soft serve and happen to be in Trumansburg stop on by. I would recommend the hot fudge sundae and the triple berry sundae. read more

Ice Cream Bar - two people standing outside of a restaurant - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Trumansburg, New York

Love this ice cream place! Great selection of treats including fro yogurt and a vegan option, hard and soft-serve, flurries and all the shake and sundae options you need. Nice shady seating, friendly, efficient staff and a few non-ice cream food options, too. Just the kind of place you want to ride your bike to on a summer evening. read more

I'm so grateful this little place popped up on my Google maps as we headed home from seeing some of the local waterfalls. We weren't at all familiar with the area, but the end of our family vacation called for some ice cream, and we wanted some good homemade stuff! Wow - did we ever score with this stop! The ice cream was rich and delicious, the sizes were hearty, and we were all happy with our choices, from dipped twists and root beer floats to sundaes. read more

This is as good as it gets for a small town side of the road soft serve ice cream establishment. I also really enjoy the fact that they offer a variety of sizes... I'm a small ice cream cone type person and I like being able to order a cone, as an adult, that I'm going to be able to finish. I regularly drive out here from downtown Ithaca for ice cream and prefer this to the purity ice cream parlor experience. read more

Ice Cream Bar - June 2013 - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Trumansburg, New York

Best place to get ice cream in the 607 area. The menu items and employees are consistently on point and never disappoint

I was in town on a family trip, we had come to Trumansburg to visit from Boston. Everywhere else that we went to was very hospitable and nice, until we showed up at "not my dads soft serve". We showed up at 9:45 on Sunday, July 29th. From the second we arrived in the parking lot, it was clear the two young ladies working behind the counter were visibly annoyed that we were stopping for ice cream. We were all very confused because the establishment was still open, yet these two employees made us feel very unwelcome. Throughout our entire process of ordering our ice cream, the girls did not say a word even after we gave them a generous tip. I would recommend stopping elsewhere for ice cream in the area, as I'm sure you will have a much more enjoyable experience. read more

Fiona and Skylar MADE the experience! They not only entertained my conversation about Lisa (the terrible hostess from hazelnut kitchen) but they had strong knowledge on ALL of the topping options. They even provided me with separate containers of Oreos and rainbow sprinkles upon request. Love the ice cream/yogurt here! And love the staff. Great experience. read more

I have been eating this ice cream since I was in high school. That said, it may have been 20+ years since I had been back for a cone. While back east visiting I stopped in with my daughter. I was pleasantly surprised that the cones were still delicious. While I no longer know the employees so the odds of scoring free cones are low, I enjoyed being back and enjoying some delicious ice cream. read more

Not My Dad's offers soft serve, hard ice cream, sundaes, shakes, etc. - plenty of options for ice cream lovers, and the simplest vanilla soft serve is super rich and delicious. They also have a variety of sizes, which is nice for those of us who have eyes bigger than our stomachs and can't stand to waste such a tasty treat. The location is ok, depending on where you are. If you're near Taughannock Falls, drive the extra 10 minutes to get to this place. Every time I travel home from California I make sure to go at least once. My favorites are the triple berry sundae and classic hot fudge sundae. read more

I stopped at this spot today and ordered some peanutbutter chocolate ice cream for myself and asked if they had any vegan ice cream for myself. The very kind girl I ordered from mistook my question and thought I said "vanilla" when I had said "vegan". So she handed me a vanilla soft serve cone and I asked if it was vegan. She explained her mistake and left it sitting there next to me and I tried to hand it back to her to which explained she couldn't take it back though the window for health code requirements and said I could just keep it. Then out of nowhere this young woman wearing and Costa Rica Pura vida shirt (lol) ORDERED ME TO THROW IT IN THE TRASH. MYSELF. And said that if I kept it she would have to charge me and that she wasn't going to give me something for free! BECAUSE OF AN EMPLOYEE MISTAKE... I told her that I would never throw away perfectly good food and that she was welcome to come around and throw it away herself. And she did just that. I am not in the business of wasting food or taking orders from someone that I am buying something from I think this establishment is great and the woman I interacted with initially was very nice. As for theother person there I would recommend an attitude adjustment and a chill pill read more

The best soft serve I've ever had. We were in town from Alabama visiting Cornell and decided to take a drive up the lake and just happened to see this place on the side of the road and decided to stop. It is worth the short drive up from Ithaca especially if going to the state park. We are trying to go back there before we leave. read more

I found that Not My Dad's was a good ice cream shop. There was decent prices, good portions, great ice cream.

Good price for a variety of soft-serve treats. Do yourself a favor: if you usually get a small, order the junior. This is THE place to meet up and be out and about in the summer! read more
