The chicken was lovely, succulent battered pieces and a good portion. However, I expected szechuan Chicken to be spicy not sweet and was disappointed by the pineapple pieces so ordered some chilli oil to spice it up. As a deal, if you order a main meal and drink you get a free side of veggie spring rolls and they were tasty and crispy. I would definitely go back to noodle city again and order something different.

Noodle City is a gasp of fresh air in this clone town. An independently run Chinese cafe that serves, hot fresh food with friendly service. This Chinese cafe is really popular with the Westminster Uni students down the road. If one of the better places to eat in town, with large portions that get served quick and don't cost too much. Think Wagammas but with a little bit more personality, as you do sit on benches and share tables and its not the classiest joint around. But it is clean (apart from the funny toilet out back) and the food is perfect for a quick lunch while your out or a catch up with friends in the evening. It's not romantic and won't impress but for what it is, I love it. A great lunch stop if your in the area!

We saw the server bring a bottle of wine over to the manager to smell. It tasted like old foot. It took forever to place another order for all you can eat. They don't bring water, drinks, wasabi etc until you ask multiple times. They want to charge like £3 for a little side of teriyaki sauce. The manager seems to mistreat his waitstaff, making then incompetent and helpless with no way to make any decisions independently. They wait staff doesn't even seem to understand simple serving duties such as, seat the table, take a drink order, make sure they have silverware, offer drinks, offer wasabi and soy sauce (it's sushi!). Otherwise, if you want sushi at and decent price and tolerable quality, don't expect any sort of service. Expect to wait a long time for food and dont waste any or they charge!

We tend to try at least 1-2 new dishes each time we visit, plus our usual favourites..... nasu dengaku, crispy salmon skin, crispy prawns, vegetable tempura, gyoza, tori karaage, nigiri and varied maki and urumaki. Be aware of the compulsory service charge of10% added to your bill. You cannot remove it or pay what you wish. Myself and previous members of my family have tried to argue that it should be down to our discretion however each time we failed or the request caused an uproar. So we now just pay. Would recommend for lunch or dinner and will be returning myself!

This place serves Thai and Sushi so I wasn't convinced about this place at all. I wasn't expecting much from this place. But at the same time I knew my friends wouldn't even dare thinking of going to a place where buffets are heated up day after day with poor quality food. On arrival it was pretty empty. We were the only party although it was only 6pm. By 7pm this place was buzzing and all tables were filled with hungry people. Staffs are friendly and great customer services. The variety of food you could choose was amazing. Everything else was almost freshly done, especially the sushi as the chef makes it in front of you and the rice was nice and soft unlike most places like Wasabi were the rice are pretty hard as it's been sitting at the fridge for a while. The other hot food are also cooked per order and we didn't have to wait too long (15mins) for proper cooked meal. But it never felt long as there's always food coming to our table! There wasn't a time limit per table so we literally sat there and ate for 3 hours. It was so worth the money (£15 pp). Absolutely love all the maki, nigri and temakiz as well as their pad thai and thai fish cake was really good (approved by one of our Thai friend). Their fish was fresh (obviously not top notch but not stale either). Their honey lemongrass tea was yummy. It was unlimited refill too with proper honey. Thumbs up! The only thing which we didn't like was the spare ribs as they were way over done. I wasn't too keen on their coconut Tom Yum. I felt I was having coconut soup rather than Tom Yum but their prawns in there was fresh and juicy. There's also one toilet per gender so there tends to be a mini queue. I wish this was based in Central London because I would be returning very regularly. I might need to find another excuse to visit this place in the near future!

Don't you hate it when a really pretty person is really shy and you thus never get to know her?…read moreWell, this is how I feel about the "Dim Sum House" in Golders Green. Let me explain this analogy: When I talk about a pretty person, I actually mean the nice decor and the really welcoming and friendly staff at this place. In fact, I've yet to find a Chinese restaurant where the staff is more courteous and polite. And this prettiness also extends to the way the dishes look and how they're presented - beautiful! Especially the dim sum looks fantastic. Now, let's talk about the shy part of my analogy. And by shy I mean the flavours of the dishes. In fact, it feels like the chef was toning down the ingredient list to make it more appealing to a more European audience, but unfortunately that didn't work neither for me nor my Taiwanese partner in crime: we were looking for authentic and bold flavours, but they were just not there. (My triple-meatball noodle-soup not only lacked in flavour, but also in meat...I think I counted a total of 6 tiny meatballs.) So, as much as I usually make a fuss about how important really good service is, I have to say that if we could swap, I'd rather have the usually rude and ignorant staff of many Chinese establishments, but the boldness of a real Chinese meal in exchange! (Foodwise I really think they don't deserve three stars, but because the service was so nice, I would feel terrible not to give three stars...)

He does…read morenot bother to dress properly, and greets his diners with an attitude of 'what are you doing in here? how dare you come in to my restaurant!' It is a pity because the dim sum is delicious, and the service of the other staff is generally decent. Yesterday the manager seemed reluctant to seat my party upon arrival because we had no reservation. This was in spite of there being many free tables all evening. At the end of the meal he accused my friend of giving him a counterfeit pound coin when it came to paying the bill. Although I have heard that around 20% of pound coins in circulation are counterfeit, I have never actually been accused of paying with one and it is surprising that the manager would choose to alienate a customer for the sake of a pound. I would recommend to the manager of this establishment that he learns to treat his customers with the respect and courtesy. He should also dress like a restaurant manager in a dark suit and tie. His attitude to customers and presentation lets the whole restaurant down. It is a real pity because the food is good.

Between the two of us we had a prawn pho, a beef in black bean sauce and a noodle dish with chicken plus some summer rolls (yes, we're pigs!) They packed everything up beautifully (beware the pho, it does spill very easily as my poor flip-flopped foot found out in the car) and away we went. I'll admit it was very late by the time we got home and I wolfed my food down at the speed of light, but everything was as delicious as I knew it'd be. This will now be my number one stop for good Vietnamese food in north London!

SO, 2 YEARS LATER..... Wednesday afternoon I came here and making my way to a nearby hotel. I would have dined somewhere else if there were anywhere available nearby but decided to take a chance here. I wish I ventured somewhere else. The place was spacious and had lots of food to order. However, what is the point of space when practically no one is there to attend to you. The waitress or cashier, saw us for a few minutes, nobody bothered. We had to go to them and ask them for a menu and order. by this point i lost interest and decided to take away. While waiting, I decided to buy a 1.5LT Evian bottle (NOT THE LARGEST) . This woman looked at me and said one moment, I asked how much it was and she left me and took another lady talking in their dialect and looked at me. She said it was £3,20. I buy the very same thing for £1.90.... I paid it annoyed because it wasn't even cooled and i didnt see the reason of it being so pricey. Moving onto the food, we purchased and paid. We ate and the amount of dark sauce swimming around the "FRIED NOODLE" made us think we ordered noodle soup instead. I mean as we opened the Tupperware, the black sauce was oozing out and it seemed like it was more of noodle soup than black bean soup. I order Pork chop with rice. It arrived as RICE AT THE BOTTOM, GRAVY AND 2 MASHED WHATEVER. The only good food we order was the vegs spring rolls and squid balls. Barely edible. I hate low reviews but this one, it had to be done.
