I booked a table for my wife and I to go there for lunch as it is Valentines day today and we wanted to do something special.
We booked a table for 2pm.
My wife arrived in the restaurant first at around 2:05pm as I was still outside trying to find a parking space.
When I arrived in the restaurant around 2:15, my wife informed me that she had still not been acknowledged after standing at the counter for almost 10 minutes with not even a "Hello" and decided to help herself to a menu and sit down at the table.
When the waitress eventually arrived to take our order almost another 10 minutes later, the first thing she said to us was "We have no rice, only sashimi today".
I was rather disappointed by this and maybe should have got up and left at this point, however we decided to stay and sample some of the other offerings, which we did.
I enjoyed the octopus rolls, tempura prawns and baked salmon, my wife had some salmon and tuna sashimi with a green salad.
After we finished our meal, we were the last ones in there and were made to wait a considerably long time before getting our bill.
I had always put the less than enthusiastic service in this place down to the language barrier, however after what I experienced next, I feel they are simply just plain rude. Here is what happened.....
As we got up to leave and pick up some extra food we had ordered for takeaway, I mentioned to the chef that I was not really happy that they had run out of rice. His response was simply to laugh at me in a sarcastic manner and tell me "That's OK". I was disgusted at this attitude and told them that I felt a sushi place running out of rice was akin to Mcdonalds running out of chips. I then said that they would not be seeing me much in there any more to which the only response was a shrug of his shoulders. As we left the restaurant and closed the door I turned around to see all the staff in the restaurant having a good laugh about what just happened.
As a customer who visits on average at least once per week for takeaway and dines in the restaurant about once per month and who some of the staff had got to know by first name, and also visits your supermarkets on a regular basis, I am absolutely furious at being treated in such a disgusting and disrespectful manner.
Needless to say I shall not be putting any more of my hard earned money in your tills after being made to feel like I was a nuissance and that my business was not valued in the slightest.
Your food may be nice, but I'm sorry, what happened today will stay in my mind for a long long time and I will make sure every person I ever recommended to your restaurant (of which there are many, I can assure you) will be hearing about this appalling incident.
You can also keep the spider roll which you forgot to put in my takeaway last week, nice though it is, I never want to eat your food again.
Whilst I fully expect this post to be deleted, I hope that at least it will bring the matter to the attention of the management who I suggest should consider changing some of the staff there or possibly invest in some customer service training.
What a shame, I really did like this restaurant and you can see from the date of my previous post how long I WAS a customer for.
SHAME ON YOU! read more
