I said it's what I do, you know how dogs mark their spot? I said that's what I do but with a photo. The guy serving us is the owners son, he said as long as you do that outside lol.. We did a tasting of lemon cello, orange, coffee and another one with added flavor juice. They were all very incredible. The orange was my favorite. We got a value pack of all 3. He said his Dad and niece made this. They started dabbling as a hobby and turned into a business. He said people wanted to pay them, but you can't it's bootlegged. I said I know all about that because I make lots of wine, it's a hobby that has gotten really into it with 11 barrels aging in my basement. He said they'd swap a bottle sometime, which would be really cool. Lastly I asked about the Bourbon. Another guy was there that made it. He said it was made in Dallas, TX. We sampled it and wow it was some good shit. We purchased a bottle, first batch bottle 47. Excited to try that out soon again. Overall outstanding place. Small in capacity. No restrooms because it's a place to pick up for bottle sales and or sample and go.

However you have the option to have cart ride down. They have lights hanging and it's in the middle of the woods. It's very awesome and such a great idea. This is the second time that I've seen a place setup like this, the other time was in the Finger Lakes. It's a definitely different experience. I tried the bourbon, rye, spiced whiskey, slivovitz and blackberry rum. All of the whiskey was good. The slivovitz is a product that I do not see any local distillers ever making. It was nice to see this here. I was introduced to this 20+ years ago while tailgating for Steelers home games. I have to say what they had tasted much better. I ended up leaving with the Spiced Rum, it was good and different than the others. I had a mixed drink as well as my wife and we both enjoyed the drink and the location. They have a stream nearby. The seating is awesome, you can sit outside near the distillery, inside the woods, along the creekside. It's a very cool place and can't wait to go back again. This place just opened and see it getting busier and more popular over time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND visiting this place.

Well, the website said that their kitchen was open when we got there the bartender let us know that it was in fact not open and that it was only beverage service. That was a slight disappointment to us as we probably would've hung out later if we could've been able to get food. I did a flight and tried the honey, the apple, the kilted barrel cast, and the Wapsie. Overall, I thought they were all pretty decent. The kilted definitely has a lot of peak and drinks very closely to a scotch. The honey one for me was my favorite and I ended up buying a bottle to bring home. My husband got an old-fashioned made with the Wapsie. He enjoyed it but liked it even more after the ice melted a bit. We were a little surprised that they close so early on a Monday but they close even earlier on Sundays so highly recommend that you pay attention to the operating hours if you're planning to visit.

The food was decent, but honestly, I was hoping for a bit more. The biggest letdown, though, was the service. Our server was super sweet, so it wasn't her fault at all--it just felt like they were either understaffed or the staff wasn't allocated efficiently. There were two bartenders and three other staff members who seemed to be handling seating and samples, along with a runner for food and drinks. Unfortunately, we waited over 25 minutes for a drink, and others who arrived after us were served first. It definitely put a damper on the visit. If I go back, I'll probably stick to just drinks and maybe a couple of apps--but honestly, I think I'll continue going to the original Strip District spot where the energy, service, and overall experience feel more dialed in. I really don't love leaving subpar reviews, but felt it was worth sharing in case others have a similar experience.

On the check though, there's a charge for the cup and each charge is also inflated ($5.20 for a refill, and $12 + some change for the first drink - I forget the cents, maybe $12.48). Not sure why they don't just keep the charges flat to match what they posted online. Good drink though!
