    Farm burger

Was so impressed by this space! From the outside, the building looks like a regular warehouse space. They have transformed the inside into a cozy and inviting tasting and dining space. The service was great from start to finish. We were greeted by the host who also made us aware of the ability to do a rum tasting at any point of the night. First 3 rums are free and any rum after is $1 to taste. We experienced the same friendly service with our waitress who was prompt and helpful when we asked some questions about several of the cocktails. My friend and I both ordered the wild mushroom soup and the farm burger with fries and homemade ranch. The food was amazing. I will think about that soup until I can have it again! The best part is that it's included in the happy hour menu. It's a must try. The burger was mostly good, but the bun didn't hold up for me. It was falling apart and pretty mushy halfway through, but the burger itself was juicy and flavorful. The fries and homemade ranch were a perfect pair. The ranch was very fresh and creamy and the fries were perfectly crisp and lightly seasoned. I tried the painkiller for my cocktail. I didn't love it like I thought I would. I've had many painkillers on vacations over the years and this was nothing like what I have experienced or expected. The drink was served in a short glass with a huge ice cube. I'm pretty sure it was 90% liquor. If you really want a chance to appreciate the deep flavors of the rum, I think this drink is for you. If you're looking for a traditional painkiller with fruity flavors and a splash of coconut milk and a dash of nutmeg, you aren't going to find it.

Very impressed by Maggie's. They were busy on a Friday at happy hour, but got 3 if us in at the bar, which was still plenty spacious. We were very well-attended to, the staff was hustling! I tried the Strumming my Pain(killer) and Painkiller, I have to say I would prefer the Painkiller because I liked the similar flavors with the coconut cream and nutmeg. As a rum and coconut lover, I don't think I could've dreamed a better combination. We also ordered food which seemed to take a long time, but understandably so, as you go to Maggie's primarily for the drink experience! However, the falafel in wrap form and gyro fries were well worth the wait! It's hard to find a place that can do it all as well as Maggie's. I can't wait to go back and order some rum for a Father's Day gift!

On a snowy winter day, my hubby and I stopped at MF Rum on McLaughlin Run Rd., In Upper St. Clair. The building is has an unassuming industrial-looking, with parking and entrance in the rear of the building. We were uncertain if this was the place for us as we are not rum drinkers. MF Rum is a super addition to the South Hills. The bar and restaurant is on the second floor. Large windows give a view of the distillery below. There are ample tables and the large horse-shoe shaped bar has loads of seating. The bar menu offered many cocktails featuring rum, spirit-free cocktails, wine beer, soda, and coffee. The food menu is not large but offers interesting options. Salads, burgers, sandwiches, soups, starters, desserts and options for children. Today was visited a little after noon and sat at the bar. Liz provided excellent, friendly service. We enjoyed Old Thunder and 11th hour beer. The cheese plate was delicious and plenty for two to share. Food arriving at other tables looked great and we will be back soon.

Back in the day you could go zest limes at Maggie's and they'd sling ya painkilla after painkilla and you'd walk away feeling like you contributed to the good of the order and feelin' GOOD. At the new south hills location, I can confirm that Maggie's is still making you feel good but they are also leaving you no space in your belly. I took my mum here and we both got the same thing which was their farm burger with white cheddah, rum spiced bacon, pickled shallots, marinated arugula, dill aioli and side salads (the croutons are out of this world). I have a soy allergy so I couldn't get their fries (soybean oil fryers) but they looked good at the other tables. They also had a poutine special that I couldn't have because of it and that also looked incredible. Our server was very nice and accommodating as much as he could be. Everyone was friendly. Their menu is awesome. If there is one thing that Maggie outshines the rest in, it's their cocktails. We had the rum old fashion, ginger has nice mangos and the house drink. All incredibly tasty in their own way. Couldn't pick a fave. This is going to be such a fun spot in the summer as it's elevated and has garage doors for windows. It was a little dark and gloomy and too dimly lit for the winter, but that should not deter you from going. I can't wait to go back!

Ordered the chicken melt and it was very yummy. Served with hot fresh fries which we also enjoyed. The pain killer was also delicious. Not what you would have in the Caribbean but good enough for Pittsburgh. They have a couple of local beers on draft. Lots of indoor sitting. Not ready to replace my bottles of Caribbean rum but if I run out before we can make a trip back out there, may have to give this place a shot.

Maggie's Farm was a wonderful experience and only a short drive. Finally we have some more choices in the area. This place serves as a rum distillery primarily but also has a beautiful restaurant, bar, and tasting setup. The service was super friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. The menu is a one pager with enough choices to satisfy just about anyone. We had the avo crab dip to start which was deadly! I probably could've eaten 4-5 more. It comes with some delicious bread as well. For mains two of us went with salads +chicken and one went the burger route. Everyone was happy. I ordered the beet salad with chicken. It had amazing colour and was super fresh. I might ask for a little bit of extra cheese next time, but it was still delicious as it was. After our dinner we did a rum tasting which was a great way to end the evening. We grabbed a bottle of the 50/50 for the house. Can't wait to come back.

This was opening night of the new Maggie's Farm Rum. The original location is in the strip district. This place is much larger in space, when you walk in you will be presented with the distillery where all of the magic begins. Take an elevator to the next floor and you're greeted by a nice lady. She will seat you at the bar or table. We arrived 18 minutes after 4 when they opened on day 1. We were eager to visit the new location of Maggie's which happens be closer to our house in the south hills. The space is much larger than the original location, they offer a wide variety of new cocktails which we tried 4 of them together. I started off with I Yam What I Yam which consists of @libertypolespirits Rye, sweet potato, Maggie's Spiced Rum, pumpkin spiced, coffee liqueur, and blended bitters which had a marshmallow dipped in the drink. I hit a home run on this cocktail, it was tremendous and going to be my new go to. @winecraft started with Don't play basketball with Prince, the name alone has a funny sensation to it,which consisted with Maggie's Farm Hidden Harbor White, which if you haven't tried this white rum, you're missing out, its sensational. Anyhow it has Maggie's Pineapple Rum, Spiced Rum, Falernum, purple corn, spices, coconut milk, acid solution, turbinado sugar wow was that great. They have some of the O.G's Smooth Sailing, Painkiller,Zombis and my fave Rum Ole Fashioned. On top of that they serve food from burgers to short rib, starter foods like the awesome cheese plate we had to desserts which consist of their rums. This place is incredible. The area had nothing of the sorts available. Which is nice because now you have the best rum in the area and our bias opinion on this planet 20 mins down the road from the best whiskey from the area and think on this planet with @libertypolespirits , Maggie's provides a sensational experience. The staff was tremendous. Greeted by a nice lady who thanked us for attending, stopped several times and spoken to what may have appeared to be the manager, lastly by one of the staff that recognized us stopping at the original location quite often. We were very pleased and look forward to bringing new friends to the location with us. Next week we will be bringing our siblings from Florida to the location who also thinks Maggie's is the best on this planet. Cheers!

    Ginger has nice mangos

Great place to grab a signature rum cocktail and relax with friends. The staff is prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. Will definitely be back soon to sample the food menu!

However, Wigle does because they produce a wide array of spirits beyond whiskey like the vodka and coffee liqueur in this mix. I depended on YouTube travel vloggers to point me in the direction of this popular distillery bar and cafe in the Strip District. The place was bustling in the middle of the afternoon, and I was lucky to secure the last stool at the bar. The espresso martini drew my eye, and I thought I should have a snack to go with it. I ordered the $12 Devil's Eggvocate. Four deviled egg halves were topped with smoked paprika, pickled jalapeño slices, and bacon jam made with their own coffee liqueur (Photo 9). It was a bit top heavy for me, but then I never reject a deviled egg. If I wasn't driving, I might've considered trying a whiskey tasting, but it just wasn't in the cards. It is a very different business model than their usual retail spots in shopping centers. We ordered some of their usual slushees: the adult orange push-up and adult chocolate milk. Just like at their other locations they can add an additional shot to these for additional flavors beyond just the base flavor (and a little extra kick). A new drink that some of our group ordered was the hammered duck. It is a combination of lemonade and snozzberry moonshine with a rubber duck floating on top. It is a nice summer drink and very photogenic! As far as food goes, the only thing we ordered was the salmon dip. It was also very good and served with warm pitas and tortilla chips. We went on a Sunday afternoon so we were able to find street parking directly across from the distillery (no small feat in Sharpsburg). The initial bar/lounge interior was small and cozy and admittedly noisy, but signs said they had a patio so none of that deterred us. My mom ordered a Pumpkin Martini, and I ordered their Grilled Peach Whiskey Sour. Both were as delicious as they sound, I promise. The Grilled Peach Whiskey Sour was especially dangerous - with the added sweet and fruity flavors, I could barely tell that I was drinking whiskey! We also peeked at a food menu (you can order food for pickup at a restaurant within the same block), but we didn't order any food this time around. The previously mentioned patio is behind the distillery and you have to walk through the rest of the building to get to it - so past the bathrooms, past some of their equipment and work space, etc. The actual patio space is pretty cute though, and is covered; that was very appreciated on a sunny afternoon. My only regret about my visit is that we only had time to enjoy one drink (my mom and I went later in the day due to other scheduling conflicts)! The drink menu itself is massive; if it were earlier in the day I absolutely would have spent more time sampling things. I could easily see myself stopping in for early drinks and then heading to Redhawk Coffee afterward. I'll definitely be back again; this place is a delicious and delightful gem worth crossing some bridges to visit!
