All the way from CT to PA for the living dead weekend. Took a little road trip to the Buffalo Bills…read morehouse with my husband and friends. Booked the 10 am tour. From the owner of buffalo bills house this was the last tour of the season until May of next year. But, you can book a stay in the house. I think it is also through their website. The tour was about two ours long. Got a little history of the house and town. Got the details of the movie and how the house was before filming and after. It was an amazing experience and so much fun. This house is beautiful inside and out. Thank you Chris for letting us experience this house with your knowledge. We had so much fun

The home on its own is beautiful, the tall ceilings, the pocket doors the 1' tall baseboards, the cute powder room behind Hannibal, it was just a wonderful layout, the time period furniture, the wall paper, it just a beautiful home. Now lets add in the rest, OMG!! The scene shots, the pictures, painting and props, just top notch and very "well" done, speaking of the well, it was great, we both did poses in the well with precious and the music and the background music and all were great, we had a blast. A++++++++. It was great, and if you can get a bunch of people to go, all the more better. It can slept 8 so it would be a great and fun group weekend. For an older home, you would expect it to be a little musty, but no, it was fresh and clean and just wonderful. I loved having coffee watching the trains go by, car counting. it was just awesome, all of it. Watching the Silence of the Lambs on the big screen up stairs, while being in the house while watching it, was epic and a nice way to top off the evening. Bravo Chris, Bravo, we, my wife and I, have been hosting Halloween parties for almost 4o years, so I am used to sweating the details, and I can tell you are spot on and caught every detail possible. Outstanding, A++++ and would spend another night there for sure. Already have two friends viewing and definitely going to book a stay at this home. Thank you again as it was everything we expected and more!!!! Tom D

We recently visited a veteran-owned, family-operated distillery that opened two years ago on…read moreSeptember 14, 2022. We had the pleasure of chatting with the father, Mark (if I remember correctly), whose sons and nephew are all part of running this distillery. One son is stationed in D.C., the other in Hawaii, and Mark runs the distillery with help from the nephews, only opening on Saturdays. The location itself is rich in history--Mark shared that his great-grandfather, "Pappy Joe" Blackburn, purchased the farm where the distillery now stands. Built over 100 years ago, the farm sits next to a natural spring, providing the fresh mountain water they use for their whiskey. Pappy Joe, a hard-working, blue-blooded American, loved "Old Grand-Dad" whiskey, and it's clear that the family carries on that passion today. The distillery's story began with their first batch of whiskey being crafted in a hand-built still inside their uncle's old sawmill, where the distillery is now located. The sawmill itself has been around since the early 1980s. During our visit, we sampled several whiskeys: Ridge Water - A traditional corn whiskey mash bill made with corn, malted barley, and fresh spring water. At 80 proof, it had a smooth, enjoyable taste. Stahlstown Tea Party - My personal favorite, this 60 proof whiskey is infused with Bohea tea, corn, malted barley, and spring water. It's like tasting a campfire in your mouth--smoky and rich. Ridge Fire - A corn whiskey with a bit of heat, made with malted barley and corn. Another solid offering. Parkante - A unique whiskey flavored with jalapeño, ginger, and lime, all sourced from their property. Mark warned us not to drink it straight due to its spice, but it was surprisingly balanced in cocktails. We also enjoyed two cocktails while there, and I highly recommend the Mountain Mule, made with Parkante and ginger. It was absolutely delicious! The distillery is beautifully tucked away in the mountains, with a peaceful, rustic atmosphere. One thing to note if you visit: the dirt road leading up is narrow and only allows for one-way traffic, so be mindful when making the trip. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we'll definitely be back!
