I rarely step into a fast food joint but this day I was wanting one of those haupia pies. I stopped in at 1100 on a weekday, the drive thru line was 5 cars deep so I ventured into the establishment. Still no done-in seating. The place was clean, there are a handful of ordering kiosks but the cashier quickly went through the 3 people ahead of me. Got home from McDonalds Waianae and this is what I got. I ordered breakfast for myself and my family. Made a special request specifically for them not to over toast the muffin. Why? Every single time we order, we need to be specific. We need to request it that way. They always burn the muffin and still serve it to their customers knowing it's burnt. However, this morning was by far the worst experience. I would never serve food to my babies, partner, family, friends or even strangers. If I pay for the food and request it a certain way, why can't I get it that way? I was nice and polite when I placed the order. However, the cook obviously knew the muffin was beyyyyyyyyond burnt even though I said the opposite. I hope management does better and hire someone who actually takes pride in what they do. Someone used my mobile account to help themselves to a meal today. So, as soon as I received the receipt notification, I called the Wai'anae restaurant where this happened. Basically, they were of no use and said there was nothing they could do. The manager on duty didn't even have the decency to talk directly to me and, instead spoke through the staff member that answered the phone. I tried to change my password within the app, but there was no option for me to do so under the settings. So, now I just want to delete my account altogether and it's a cumbersome process as there is no option but to contact McD to request a deletion. It's so annoying! read more

Waianae McDonald's had their dining area renovated recently. Gone are the high tables and chairs. The fast food restaurant now has four touch screen kiosk for customers to use when placing a customize order for a meal. Customers are able to pay at the kiosk with a credit card or even the Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. If dining in at the fast food restaurant then grab a number to place on the table so the meal can be delivered to you by the employee. I still see a lot of the residents stand in line to place their McDonald's order especially when the customers are paying in cash. Table seating can be found near the two entrances as well as on the right side of the restaurant building. Groups of five or more can be seated near the window areas. Single individuals or two people can be seated near the wall. Outside seating is available for individuals as well. Restrooms are available for customers to use. At 10pm the restroom gets locked up for both men and women. Customers would have to see an employee to have the restroom unlock in order to use the restroom. I for one love using the touch screen kiosk. I'm always paying with card and I rarely have cash on hand. McDonald's Waianae is my go to spot for a late night meal after work. It is within walking distance from my job site and the bus stop. read more

Came here on a hot and smelly day. Yes smelly outside don't know what it is but it brought the flies inside. It was horrible. Made you not want to eat but I just came here for the girl toys. Since my girl was collecting them. It was awesome that they had all of the animals not like most McD's that only carry 2 at a time. The employee that was very helpful and awesome was Allice. I have been to this location many times and really, can't complain a single thing. Well, except that drive thru can get so slow few times. I don't think it's the staffs' fault, sometimes customers fault. They like hanging and staring at pictures on the screen for a pretty long time. Funny, this happened yesterday. The drive thru lane is so short it always always overflows down the main road which is such an inconvenience to other drivers. Dining in is still a No Go as of yesterday. I mostly go to McDonald's for breakfast. You gotta love their freshly dollar any size brewed coffee. If you have an app, they got good deals most times. I normally go for the 6 dollars for 2 breakfast sandwiches. From my experience, the order takers here are expert. They never got my orders wrong unlike other fast-food I've been. The front crew at the drive thru are very nice and happy all the time. That being said, I've only used the main counter once, and I believe it's worth mentioning that there was that one kid who looked really sad and depressed. It wasn't rude but how can I make my customers smile if I am sad and look depress? You tell me. read more

This McDonald's can really use some improvements. Besides the fact that there are two order windows in the drive-thru, it's not very efficient. It still takes just as long as if there was only one order window. If there's a wait at the final window, they don't send the car to the side. Instead, they have the person wait there, causing an extra long wait time for everyone else. Using the app is a joke too as you're stuck in the drive-thru line like everyone else. Oh, and if you want FRESH bakery goods, you can forget it. They say that they make the cookies fresh, but if you order in the evening, they give you the old ones that have been sitting there all day! New look, same junk service. Went through drive thru and Mind u I was waiting for a good 15mins for my food in one of the parking stalls. After receiving our food, it was wrong and they don't answer the phone ever! So I had to walk in there and wait in line for another 15mins because there was only 1 cashier available everyone was talking stories and hiding behind the bamboo fence. Although I brought homelunch I wanted to give their new spicy chicken sandwich a try. The sandwich was actually good - hot, juicy, savory with dill pickles and their spicy hot sauce to further enhance. The sandwich gets 4 stars but I had to deduct 2 stars because the fries was really awful. It was cold and stale - like it's been sitting around since yesterday. It was really gross. While I would definitely order the chicken sandwich again, next time I order fries I will have to specify hot-out-of-the-fryer fries. read more

What a dumpy McDonald's. We were out touring the "non-touristy" areas of Oahu and found ourselves hungry. The golden arches presented themselves over the horizon so I tugged on the wheel and turned into the parking lot. I'll keep my review short and on point. The food was typical McDonald's. I found the staff reasonably friendly. Service was timely. Food was hot. The dining area was a real dump. The vinyl seats were all cracked and shabby looking. The entire restaurant was full of flies! They even had numerous fly lamps hanging from the wall so I gather this is a normal issue with them. Since I live in the Chicagoland area and McD's corporate HQ is right here in Oakbrook, I have taken the liberty of sending them an email, complete with a dozen or so photos of the condition of this location. It's a real downer. If you can avoid this place, I'd highly recommend doing so. read more

Believe it or not, I found this to be one of the better McDonalds on the island. No, I dont know anybody who works here. I'm a "Duke" at several McDonalds and I found this one to have the most friendliest workers and the ones who can speak the most fluent english!! Would u like an Apo Pie? or Prench Pies? WTF!! They just did a heavy renovation and the place looks awesome. People who give shitty reviews have no clue where they are. Waianae is the most poorest community in the state!! Give them some credit!! Like any drive thru, if you go during the peaks hours, of course, the wait will be long, duh? On one occasion they gave me a free apple pie, for making me park and wait. Damn! Quick and friendly customer service, workers have no problem accommodating you if they accidentally get your order wrong. the dine in area is usually well kept, there's a lot of seating space in the dine in and even if there's a line - they're quick to get orders in and out. same goes for the drive through, no matter the wait they do a pretty good job with getting the line cleared out. love this location for both drive through and dine in! read more

The wait is way too long, they mess up on the orders way to frequently, however the customer service is great. I ordered a sausage biscuit, a parfait, and a fruit punch. I was given a fruit punch and an oatmeal. I don't even eat oatmeal, when I got to work is when I noticed the mess up. I called mc Donald's and they came to my job to replace my order.
