No customers. No employees. No signs of human civilization. Waited five minutes. Finally, an employee appeared from the back. We made eye contact. I thought, "Great, we're in business." Nope. They immediately walked right back out the back door without saying a word. Waited another three minutes before accepting the fact that apparently I was now the manager. So I left. Pulled around the building and discovered where the entire staff was: out back smoking. Drove across the street, got food somewhere else, and could still see the original drive-thru hostage sitting there waiting for his order. Legend says he's still there. 6 p.m. Thursday night. Empty restaurant. Employees out back smoking. One customer being held indefinitely in drive-thru purgatory. These guys aren't gonna make it.
