Totally disappointed. When they say slim chicken, they are not kidding. Those were the smallest and skinnier chickens that I have ever had and the taste was just okay. I ordered the "hungry meal box" that is supposed to have 7 pieces. What a joke!. Not kidding about that name also. After you eat this you will still be hungry. I paid $2 extra for an order of fried okra which was soggy and awful tasting and 2 dollars for a milk shake that was mostly sugar or high fructose corn syrup. Stay away from this place. I'm so disappointed with their decision to get rid of their inferno sauce. It was the one thing that sets them apart for the other chicken places and it was so good too. Now without that sauce, everything else is just ehhh, pretty much the same chicken I can get anywhere else. Not only that, they've also gotten rid of their fried mushrooms. Wow! I just do not get the appeal for this restaurant. My daughter & I had lunch here on New Year's Day, January 1, 2023. MEDIOCRE is what comes to mind. The french fries were slightly warm and soggy. My Chicken Club sandwich was served with unmelted cheese piled on top and was just okay; nothing to brag about. Braum's has much better Chicken Sandwiches & fries. Tried to order in the Drive Thru but couldn't hear her and she couldn't hear me. So, I went inside. Ordered an 8 piece meal. I had to ask if they had Lemon Pepper as it wasn't on the menu. They did have it. So, I ordered half Lemon Pepper and half Asian Chili. I was given all lemon pepper. You literally couldn't taste any lemon pepper at all. Fries are just ok. Not a fan of their toast and this time one piece of toast was burned. Waste of $12 and calories. I have tried this place several times and never satisfy me. This is not the first time I have eaten at a Slim's Chicken. My first time was over at Little Rock near UAMS, but this is the first time I am reviewing Slim's. This review is only for this branch, of course. We came here on a Saturday night. The place was not packed. We ordered 5 and 5 which consist of 5 wings and 5 tenders. Since we were still somewhat full from lunch, we were just sharing this. Being tight on a budget, we usually do not get a drink since I can just go and get a soft drink from the Sam's Club nearby that is more affordable. The person took our order was kind to us to comp us a drink. And, I was so grateful for this opportunity. I was able to try their peach tea, and it was peachin' awesome. I could not stop drinking that stuff. I hope they can bottle that and start selling it at the grocery store because I will surely get it by the gallons. So, when you visit here, make sure to get a drink because their peachin' great peach tea is to die for. As for the chicken, they were alright. It came with a huge Texas toast that was buttered and toasted just right. Their tenders were small though breaded lightly and cooked just right. The deal comes with 2 sauces, so we picked mango habanero and Sriracha garlic. Avoid the Sriracha garlic unless you just want spicy ketchup. It was not even that great of a ketchup. As for the mango habanero, it was the best sauce for tenders. It has the sweetness of the mango but have the punch of the habanero. The weird thing about it is that the spiciness was additive. At first, I could not stop dipping, but it eventually started burning my mouth. Thank goodness I have the peach tea to give me relief. The wings were tiny though. They were probably getting the wings from malnourished chickens. The seasoning on the wings were lacking. Thank goodness the mango habanero was plentiful, so I used it on the wings also. They were nicely cooked, crispy on the outside while tender on the inside. Overall, our experience with Slim's Chicken was great. The sauce was awesome. The chicken satisfying and well cooked, but most of all, the peach tea made it memorable. I suggest for you to go to Slim's Chicken for their peach tea. read more

Food was decent, but... The Slim's Wrap typically comes with massive pieces of chicken, like whole chicken strips. We asked if they would cut it up & they told us no. No big deal, we'll cut it up ourselves at home. The wrap was tiny, I guess this is shrink-flation; $7 for a five inch wrap. We finish up our food & notice the melted styrofoam in the container where I guess they threw the chicken strips straight out of the fryer. Am I being dramatic? Maybe. Went to the fort smith location and ordered 2 of the 4 piece meals. One with a side salad the other with fried pickles and an extra side of fried pickles. We went directly across the street to our hotel so not a long distance. We opened our boxes and the pickles were soggy cold and inedible, no salad there was cole slaw instead and the chicken was dried out and obviously old. So not only did we pay 30 dollars for 8 chicken tenders we called the restaurant several times and no one would answer the phone. Very disappointed from one of my favorite places or used to be but no longer. read more

I've tried the several wings, a couple different strips, and a salad. Did I say "salad"? Yes, I did. It was a Buffalo Blue Cheese Salad. A bed of lettuce with many chunks of fried (or grilled) buffalo chicken, blue cheese crumbles, and raspberry vinaigrette (this was my choice of the many they offered). I thought it would be a weird combination but it turned out great. Between the tart blue cheese and the sweet vinaigrette it hit the perfect note. I've never been to a Slim Chickens before I went to visit family in Arkansas. Never even heard of them. I was browsing Yelp to find some good food and came across this place. I love me some wings so I decided to try. The menu is awesome! As you can assume from the name, they specialize in chicken. They had chicken strips, wings, fries, fried pickles, all the good stuff.. and with a wide variety of dipping sauce and wing sauces. I got the hot buffalo wings and strips with honey mustard sauce and fried pickles. I was satisfied when I left. The lady who took my order was nice and welcoming and our food came out fast. It's come to my attention the milkshake they have are blended way too thick; I am unable to slurp the shake up the straw when it's that full. But the Oreo shake i ordered was very de looks nonetheless. I also had their chicken sandwich with honey glazed, not complaining there. And lastly, I settled the potato chips to try something different for my side, and it was tasty too. So I was originally going to try it but never came to it, but then I saw an ad for buffalo Mac n' cheese, If you met me you know this is one of my top 5's, so I went to the slim jims and ordered the buffalo Mac n' cheese. When I got to the order window, the lady said "so we're actually all out of the Mac n' cheese." which it might seem like I'm being over reactive but I actually waited 30 fucking minutes of my life that I will never get back. I ordered that slim meal instead and ordered a Dr Pepper slim sauce. guess what I got, a fucking a lemonade and a bbq sauce. if you are/were a raising canes enjoyer, just stick with it. the sauce is better the line is quicker the chicken better the fries are crispier, it's just better. read more

I came here to eat my favorite meal of regular chicken and found the restaurant to be filled with small children of the age of no more than 10. There was a large crowd of old people hanging out around the drink fountain, presumably to avoid the rowdy children. The drive-thru was around the building and I wondered what kind of person ordered chicken and waffles without getting out of there car and how out of shape they must be. Finding a table was no easy task as most had either children or old people sitting at them. I then sat down for a good 30 minutes until my food arrived presumably because they had to serve all the old people and kids who can only eat brown colored food and the fats who order through the drive-thru window. Got carry-out and got home the fries were cold and bottom of the barrel pieces. The chicken was actually okay, but the Texas Toast was just small normal white bread not even toasted. Normally the bread is large enough and toasted to wrap up a piece of chicken. Don't know if they were off their game on cooking tonight, but it will be awhile before I return. I came in just before eleven for my second visit. Both times I got 5&5. That is five wings and five tenders. Both times I got my order fairly quicky. This time, however, I only got four wings with my order. I am full so I don't feel like complaining. The parmesan wings and tenders I got both times were very good. They were fresh and moist. The sauces are also very good. The sweet chillie sauce is almost addictive. Last time I got fries and they were unremarkable, so I sprung for the fried pickles. They were expensive and to me undercooked. They are not crisp and are instead limp and slightly greasy. I can feel the grit in my teeth from the batter. The sides definitely need some work. I found myself on my way to the airport in Fort Smith when the hunger struck me. Not having a lot of time to spare, I walked into Slim Chicken's without ever having tried it before. I have to admit that I was drawn in purely by the name and the image of the coolest chicken I had ever seen who happened to be holding a guitar. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a friendly gentleman who appeared to be the manager, and after scanning the menu I settled on the chicken and waffles. "An excellent choice" he responded, and he was not lying. A few minutes later a large, thick Belgian-style waffle topped with three chicken tenders. The waffle had been pre-syruped (not a word, I know, but I like the way it sounds) for me, and I immediately inspected the waffle and confirmed each square nook had been hit. The tenders were just that - extremely tender with light and tasty breading. The waffle was crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. As soon as I finished, someone came right over and politely asked if they could take my plate. That leads me to another note. This place was super clean. Someone got up to leave, the table was immediately cleaned. Someone finished at the drink station, it was immediately wiped down. I would recommend this place to anyone passing though. read more
