About what you expect from a McDonalds. I always like to visit when I am in different countries. The biggest difference I saw here was they offer a Big Mac with no meat! I passed on that one. Obviously, they have poutine which was not that bad at all. It is not by any means a chart topper for poutine, but, it wasn't bad. I had a filet of fish which is my go to at McDonalds and it was pretty standard. Good, but not much different than home, but they do not skimp on tartar sauce which was a plus. They do skimp on napkins though. read more

After a long 12 mile / 20 kilometer round trip hike to Garibaldi Lake on 6/11/23, I was very hungry since I had nothing to eat yet. So, I stopped at McDonalds on my way back to the Vancouver metro area. I pigged out. I ordered a Double Big Mac and Poutine. The Double Big Mac comes with four patties instead of two. The poutine was traditional McDonald's French fires covered with brown gravy and cheese curds. The food was prepared quite well. The service was relatively fast, even with the busy lunch crowd. The restaurant itself was also clean and updated to the modern standards of most Golden Arches nowadays. read more

McDonald's - Double Big Mac & Poutine - Fast Food Near Me - Squamish, British Columbia

McDonald's is really doing the upscale thing with the whole McCafe theme, and I'm lovin' it. This location has been renovated somewhat recently, with an expanded seating area and much nicer (and larger) windows all around. Parking here is plentiful, unless it's during the winter, in which case you're up against hordes of skiers and boarders. The inside is quite well done, with a raised area with a fireplace. Great place to catch up over a coffee. They've also added some touch screen gaming consoles at some of the tables to keep the kids amused. Unfortunately the machines don't seem to keep the high scores past 1 day. Oh poo. One curious thing about the breakfast menu - a Sausage McMuffin costs $1.39, but an Egg McMuffin and Sausage 'N Egg McMuffin each cost $3.29. In other words, an egg costs $1.90. Another way of looking at it would be that an egg costs more than an entire Sausage McMuffin, or that the egg is so expensive that if you order it, they throw in the sausage for free. What? So confused.. McDonald's is understandably trying to differentiate their menu items, but I don't know who in their right mind would order anything but the Sausage McMuffin. Mind you, this pricing anomaly is across all locations, not just here. I just had the honour of discovering it at this particular location. When I'm here my mind says "order a salad" but my stomach plots with my mouth and out comes "I'd like a 20 pc chicken McNugget, poutine fries with extra gravy and cheese, and a coke!" Well, at least I thought about that salad! This is the best McDonald's I've ever been to. They have a mini bakery with healthy bran muffins, kiddo game consoles in booths so parents can eat in peace, and a ton of touch screen self service kiosks so you get your grub fast. AND in Canada fries are the poutine kind or if not Parmesan! Why aren't we doing this in the US? They also just came out with a line of bagels and bagel BLTs! The awesome factor here keeps on getting better! Anyhow if you're traveling up from Vancouver to Whistler this McDonald's in Squamish is a great half way mark to stop and feed the hangry kids or spouse and perk up those low blood sugar levels. I'm amazed that they still do those balloons on sticks for kids and coloring books with crayons like how they used to do that in the US when I was 5. Maybe the one by my family house in my hometown is just lazy now. This McDonald's seems to have ponied up the cash to do a really nice renovation with a cool fire place, trendy lounge seating and if you're super lazy, they're doing order from your phone and have it delivered to your table. Whoever the planning of locations person was for McDonald's I have to give you props, as this is probably the busiest place you see in Squamish, whether you are going up to Whistler, or coming down to Vancouver, everybody uses this as some sort of landmark as either a meet up, pick up a snack, or use the washroom destination. How can you miss this place, it is right off the highway, the lot is big, and the inside is quite nice, there even is a fire place to gather around with your Big Mac and chicken McNuggets. I remember when this place use to even have soup, yes, slurpy not bad served soup for the winter months, gone, too bad now for anyone who wants this. Still, if you have kids that run around, people who are whining about being hungry, people in your car that are crossing their legs cause they have to go to the washroom, something spilt in the car where you need a stop off to clean, a place to stretch your legs, and you know your damn close to Squamish, this place is for you. Also if you have lost your friends as they were driving in another car faster, or slower than you, they won't miss this destination! read more

On this rare occasion, I came here during my drive from whistler last week. It was just past 11am and because I had seen advertised that they had all day breakfast (perhaps they discontinued that service since I hadn't been to a McDonald in quite some time). I asked for an egg breakfast bagel and the extremely rude lady snapped through the speaker at the drive through "Yeah okay so we don't serve that anymore and we ESPECIALLY don't serve breakfast after 11am". Great play area!!! Separate section for toddlers, which is nice when you have younger kids and aren't particularly thrilled with having your little ones trampled by rambunctious older kids with oblivious parents (just saying). High chairs were available, which was not surprising. But what was surprising was that the high chair trays were individually wrapped/sealed and packaged with utensils. Wow, how sanitary! Any parent of a young child/children would definitely appreciate this. Extra star for the touch screen games at the tables. Cool and fun. read more

Worse Mcdonald's EVER. We came in for lunch and we know they are busy, but our food took almost an hour and we never received it. I have never been to a Mcdonalds that takes that long to serve food. We requested for a refund and instead of the manager apologizing for wasting our time he is making up excuses for serving everyone else except us. I have visited many places before from different culture and I have to say this is the worse Mcdonalds I have ever seen. NEVER coming to this restaurant again. A brilliant addition to the quaint community of Squamish. Meaning it is perfectly situated on the way up to Whistler or back down to Vancouver. I am royally jealous of Canadian McDonald's. Um, cherry pies? Cherry sundaes?! Why can't we get that? Not only did this location supply me with my iced coffee fix I needed for the drive north, their chicken sandwiches were on ciabatta buns! I nearly ran off the Sea-to-Sky, I tell you. The afterglow was simply amazing. I pant just thinking about it now. Canadian McDonald's trump the states', definitely. Stellar location for the trip to and from Whistler that will satisfy everyones needs from food, a leg stretch, Wi-Fi, and bathroom breaks. Nice interior with a cozy fireplace with a lot of seating both indoor and outdoors. Be forwarned as it does get busy here on a long weekend as there are a lot of family with screaming kids, and teenagers with attitude. read more

Ah the Squamish McDonald's highway. I always stop here on the way to Whistler to load up on gas next door and grab a bite to eat. Yes, it's McDonald's but as far as McDonald's goes, this is one of the nicest ones out there. It's got a great patio and fireplace and is the only McDonald's with an interactive video game screen at the booths! It's conveniently located right next to he highway, a gas station and an off ramp. The food is well, it's McDonald's so I don't know how else to describe it except that they make the food properly unlike some McDonald's that I've been where they don't care and so your burger comes out squished or the burgers are not assembled properly. And it's still McDonald's pricing so you know what the pricing you're getting. read more

I am so disappointed in MacDonalds.. first of all they put two ketchup packets in my bag when I specifically asked them to put 3 and they gave me handsome son six chicken nuggets when I said a four piece!!! I am for sure not coming back guess what MacDonalds you just lost a customer! read more

I avoid McDonald's as much as possible but this one needs a little extra credit. First, it is very convenient for those on the way to or from Whistler, though now that Squamish is growing there are other far better options. Second, this McDonald's seems to get a lot of the trial or alternative options. As Carl noted, you'll find different buns, pizzas, soups and sandwiches you won't find elsewhere. Finally, this is consistently the nicest McDonald's I have seen in North America. Unique, dare I say almost cozy atmosphere with a fireplace and they seem to continually fix it up. So while I really don't like supporting McDonald's, this one does deserve a little more credit. read more

The Big Mac was crafted to perfection. Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, all on a sesame seed bun. The staff were a little stingy on the chocolate sauce on my hot fudge sundae. Also, some guy was in here complaining about the garbage cans outside or something. That was pretty annoying. For the second time in 3 days we have received our order only to find that instead of medium coffees with 3 cream we got medium coffees with 3 sugar! Yikes!! If they don't understand , ask. I live in Squamish and have driven through for takeout many times. About 30% of the time my order is incorrect and this morning I waited 14 mins for a sausage mcmuffin. 3 people drove up, got out of their cars, went in, got their order and drove off. When I got to the 2nd window the poor girl there was doing it all, getting payment, poring coffee and filling orders. I saw 3 people wiping down counters and making coffee but did nothing to help.
