    Chili beef birria chimichanga

Stopped by last month on our way back from a wedding and was disappointed by my dry chicken. The seasoning wasn't bad, but the dry and lukewarm chicken wasn't great. I am wondering if they can find better options to either keep the chicken fresh and hot, or cook to order? I think patrons would be understanding if they had to wait 10-15 minutes for it to be at it's best temperature and texture (moist). I also got a surf and turf taco which wasn't bad so I'd recommend that! My friend got a burrito, and that was what he seemed really intent on getting which sounds like burritos are usually a safe bet. Maybe pass on the chicken unless the place seems so bumping that you know they are frying fresh chicken. The place is cool with a Mexican vibe and cool art all around. They also have cool t-shirts.

You can't miss this spot when you're driving up the Sea-to-Sky. It's one of the first things you see but we've never really stopped in Squamish for food so this spot has always been a mystery until now. After a long day of rock climbing, our friends who live in Squamish said we had to grab a bite here cause "this is here all the rock climbers go after a day of climbing" and it's been our go-to spot now. The place is always packed at night with all sorts of individuals in tshirts and cargo shorts. Definitely a spot for all kinds of adventure peoples. The lines to order are always super short and food usually takes around 20 mins (even though we arrived near closing once and was told it would be an hour wait...it was way faster than that). I've tried their meat burrito, twice cooked pork belly burrito, fried chicken poutine, and wild mushroom poutine and their meat burrito is my fav; it's exactly what I need after a long day in the forest with all those carbs, meat and veggies. Who kWho knew a spot with such a funky interior of bright graffiti, anime and retro video games could serve up such good food. I can't wait to try the rest of their menu.

What a fun restaurant! A friend and I were on our way to Whistler and we wanted a little snack. The fried chicken was not bad (nothing to really rave about), BUT the tacos! Oh my goodness.. it was amazing. The Tacos are a must if you go try it!!!

Fried chicken and Mexican place by Hwy 99 in Squamish. Has eclectic and colorful decor inside and out. Went in for a late lunch on a weekday, and they were doing decent business. Got a 4 piece chicken combo, the pork quesadilla and the chicken taco salad. The cashier said it would take 15 minutes, and it took at least that long, so not really fast food. Each item was $15-$17 so on the higher end of fast food prices. Portion are quite generous, especially for the salad. The salad and quesadilla were decent enough. The fried chicken and the fries that came with it were not that great. The fried chicken flavor was alright, but it just wasn't that crispy. I think KFC is better.

Tried the poutine and it was really good and huge portion too. Definitely recommended for the value if you are passing by whislter or squamish and needing some food to get to. I would definitely recommend sunny chibas to go to. I would definitely come back to try its other food. Cheers!

One line review: Unremarkable at best, disappointing at worst. Let's just say it's hard to find good Mexican food in the Vancouver area. That has been our experience for the last two years since we moved to this area from Hawaii, also a Mexican food desert. For this kind of cuisine, we miss California. We ordered: - a two-piece chicken combo with fries and a drink (the chicken was not strongly seasoned, even with the habanero papper seasoning they shook on after cooking, and the chicken breast was a bit overdone to me -- dry; fries were decent but unremarkable) - two tacos, both pork pastor but topped differently (these were full of meat -- a big win -- but also appropriate, given the pricing; seasoning was okay but not great; our comment after: This didn't taste like Mexican food -- at least not what we were expecting.) After seeing other peoples' burritos, we wondered if the right way to order at this place was to get a couple of burritos or a burrito and chimichanga. They looked very generous. But the food we did get was not good enough to warrant a return trip to test that hypothesis. The restaurant is decked out in amazing art, featuring some famous Mexican luchadores -- the most outstanding and memorable part of the experience. They are clearly trying to be careful with the COVID-19 restrictions -- creating a directional flow through the restaurant by designating an 'in' door and an 'out' door and having hand sanitizer available to customers. They even have a plastic sheet between the person ordering and the cashier (who was unmasked). We stayed masked throughout our time inside, then went outside to the picnic tables to eat in the open air -- a nice provision. The views of the mountains from that spot are pretty nice as well. Parking was free in their lot. Bottom line: I don't get the hype about this place but concede that it could be because we didn't order the right things. But we're unlikely to try it again in the area with better options nearby.

I am not a fan of having LARGE long pieces of plastic wrap in my burrito. When I reached out to " customer service " I got a reply back saying.. " call me tomo to discuss " GROSS all around

If you're on the Highway 1 and are passing by in Squamish, would highly recommend this Mexican spot for some good food!! I had gotten 3 tacos, $6 Each. Small size but super tasty! * Surf & Turf Taco - Meat is super Juicy, recommend! * Twice Cooked Pork Belly Taco - Pork belly super crispy, and love the flavours! Different with an Asian Korean spin. * Crispy Corn Fish Taco - tasty, but recommend the other 2 tacos over a fish taco Overall super tasty and great flavours, portion for tacos were a bit small and a little bit pricey but still would recommend to stop by if you want a good bite!

Definitely no need to stop at this one. I've always wondered about this joint having done the drive from Van to Whistler many a time. We finally stopped in today, I never went when it was Mags 99 which I regret as I heard their chicken was good. Sunny Chibas took over the joint and added a texmex vibe to it and still kept the fried chicken. The decor is pretty chaotic and the tables were dirty when we walked in, it was busy but not as busy as we'd seen in the past. I wiped our table down to sit at it. We ordered a two piece fried chicken with poutine and a fish burrito. They had run out of the beer my partner wanted so he settled for something else. The beer wasn't super cold which is always disappointing. I love an ice cold brew. The chicken was very quite shrivelled and sad especially my drumstick. I don't work in a kitchen but I wouldn't serve that piece of chicken to dinner guests. It was dry and the seasoning was lacking big time. It just tasted like it was cooked in burnt grease. The thigh was better but their seasoning is it needs a lot of TLC. Also for $14, I can get much much better chicken at Church's for less or Duffins or Popeyes etc. The poutine was disappointing as well (I paid extra for it too). The cheese curds were cold and the fries weren't full coated in gravy to melt the cheese so it was kind of unpleasant. The poutine sauce wasn't classic at all but tasted more like a chicken based sauce, it was passable. Now for the football sized pot of rice stuffed burrito lol. It was HUGE and full of bland. It took my partner around six bites to even hit the fish! We were questioning if they'd forgotten to include it but no, it was just hard to find in the pot of rice and crunchy veg they stuff it with so you get full off of filler versus quality ingredients. This burrito was $18 for mostly a tortilla rice and crunchy veg. Really disappointing. Overall skip this spot and head to Howe sound brewing or Backcountry for their delicious pizza pies.

Pretty good tacos and fried chicken. I so rarely eat anything else here. Cool decor and vibe too. Their coleslaw is terrible unless you want chopped cabbage swimming in some dressing that is a cross of thousand island and ranch.

Lol some recent reviews made me so sceptical yet whenever I drive by it's packed outside. I'm glad I tried it, we ordered waaaay too much and stuffed ourselves and the drive home was uncomfortable to say the least because all I wanted to do was unbutton my pants and nap. The food tastes Western Mexican and the tacos are well done and aren't cheaply put together at all. The fried chicken isn't dry but I didn't think the spice shaken in it was too amazing; however, my boyfriend thought it was! The fried chicken plate isn't much to look at because it's just fries and some chicken but the taste is there. Don't Instagram that dish and move on. I enjoyed the different flavours of tacos (I tried a whopping 6 of them) but like other reviews the most bang for your buck appears to be with the burrito order which I didn't try. So if fullness and less money spent is what your after then maybe try a burrito. The beef quesadilla was good, Not amazing but I'd order it again and the salsa on the side was REALLY good! Definitely coming back to try the taco salad as it looked fantastic coming out of the window!

Don't be fooled by the looks of this restaurant. It's cheesy and odd and the food is great. It looks like it was previously a drive through restaurant, but now polka dotted picnic tables line what was once the drive thru portion. There's lots of old video game memorabilia and japanamation, and even King Kong and Godzilla. Okay enough of that. The food! Nothing fancy here. But who needs fancy. My falafel vegetarian quesadilla was big and cheesy and delicious, and served with plenty of refried beans and spanish rice. Was so good. My partners veggie burrito was also delicious and it was the size and weight of a nice set. Located just off the highway it was the perfect ending to our afternoon in Squams. Now I'm hungry just from writing this review.

What a disappointment! I called in a takeout order on my way to Whistler, and it seemed simple…read moreenough. Paid for the order and waited a bit. The girl preparing the food shoved all the items forward on the counter without a bag. When I asked why my takeout order wasn't in a bag, she said in a very snarky tone, "It's 89 cents for a bag". I then asked for some dips since she didn't include any, followed by another snarky: "it's a dollar". I glanced at the long lineup and debated if it was really worth lining up AGAIN to pay $2 for a bag and a dip. Note to the owners: 1. Have your staff ASK if you'd like a bag on takeout orders at the time the order is made if you're not going to just include one. 2. Ask clients if they would like to include any dips when the order is placed, so we don't have to lineup and pay twice for these basic items. When I finally got to eat the food, it was very MEH. The steak burrito was tiny and full of gristle. The tots were cold. Overall rating: This place suuuuuuuuucks and the staff are rude. Do not recommend.
