I ordered the Tinga Burrito, and my friend ordered a variety of tacos that he really enjoyed, but we both agreed the tacos and the drinks were pretty expensive. Though if your fine with water and getting a burrito or a bowl, both coming in around $19 then it's definitely worth a stop. Tinga Burrito: This is not a handheld burrito, it came covered in delicious sauce and needed to be eaten with a fork and knife. They provide what I believe is homemade hot sauces next to the water station, which really added even more to this dish. The burrito itself is close to mild but well seasoned. It was a big portion, I had leftovers even with being starved after our early morning hike. Good value.

Looking for our Mexican food fix and this is super close to our lodging. The burrito is a lot of food, as is the Cantina Bowl. We tried one of each and left full and happy. Frozen Margaritas were as expected. We're a long way from Texas. Fine but kinda tart even with a spicy rim. One was enough but it was nice to have with our Mexican food. If I liked beer, I'd get a beer next time. I still want to try the tortilla soup and a Poblano taco.

What a disappointment! I called in a takeout order on my way to Whistler, and it seemed simple…read moreenough. Paid for the order and waited a bit. The girl preparing the food shoved all the items forward on the counter without a bag. When I asked why my takeout order wasn't in a bag, she said in a very snarky tone, "It's 89 cents for a bag". I then asked for some dips since she didn't include any, followed by another snarky: "it's a dollar". I glanced at the long lineup and debated if it was really worth lining up AGAIN to pay $2 for a bag and a dip. Note to the owners: 1. Have your staff ASK if you'd like a bag on takeout orders at the time the order is made if you're not going to just include one. 2. Ask clients if they would like to include any dips when the order is placed, so we don't have to lineup and pay twice for these basic items. When I finally got to eat the food, it was very MEH. The steak burrito was tiny and full of gristle. The tots were cold. Overall rating: This place suuuuuuuuucks and the staff are rude. Do not recommend.

Our last night in Whistler and we were hungry for Mexican food. We decided to try The Mexican…read moreCorner as it was a short walk from our hotel, but had mixed reviews. We were seated right away and our server came over and she was really nice. We checked out the menu and decided to try the tostadas. When our server came to take our order we asked about the size of the tostadas and she said they were like street size tortillas, maybe a bit bigger. It was our fault for not asking if they came with anything, we didn't and they didn't. Mr. B ordered the Ahi Tuna Tostadas and I chose the bean and pineapple tostadas. When the dishes came out, we were a bit surprised, the tostadas were sliding around on the large plates. Each dish was $16 and what we got was definitely not worth $16. The tuna tostadas were very good, had a nice spice to them. My bean and pineapple tostadas were delicious, spicy and very flavorful. So there was no complaints about the flavor of the food. But for the price I would expect a side of rice or something. This was more like an appetizer. For $32, and what we got, I wouldn't go back. One of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had in Whistler…read more We arrived as a group of eight, and the employee who greeted us immediately appeared irritated that we needed to move two tables together. Instead of making us feel welcome, we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing the staff. After being seated, all eight of us waited for about 10 minutes because we had no idea this was a counter-service restaurant. No one checked on us or made any effort to ensure we understood how to order. When we finally asked another employee, we were told we needed to order at the counter. When we brought this up to the greeter, she claimed she had already explained it. If every person at the table missed the same instruction, the communication clearly wasn't effective. Rather than acknowledging the misunderstanding or offering a simple apology, she chose to defend herself. That response said everything about the level of customer service. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable ordering food. The rest of our group did order. The food was decent, but several orders came out incorrectly, adding to an already poor experience. To top it off, the music was so loud that holding a normal conversation was difficult. It felt more like a bar trying to be a nightclub than a restaurant where people come to enjoy a meal together. Good food can make people come back. Good service makes them want to. Unfortunately, this place delivered neither consistently enough for us to consider returning.
