Mrs and I decided to have McDonald's for lunch on our drive back to Denver from Keystone. The two daughters ate their leftover sandwiches from the previous night with potato chips. I ordered 20 pieces chicken nuggets and a large fries. There was a misunderstanding and the fries were never entered into my order. The friendly employee apologized and gave me the French fries without charge. I insisted to two other employees that I want to pay for the French fries. However, both refused to accept my payment. This place was pretty big and clean. Restrooms are clean as well. We ordered: 1. Sausage McMuffin with egg - The sandwich was freshly made. Muffin was soft and fluffy. 2. Steak biscuit - My biscuit was soft, and the sandwich itself tasted like it was freshly made. 3. Hashbrowns were nice and crispy It was 32 degrees on a Sunday morning. This hit the spot and warmed our bellies up. People who work here were nice and prompt. I'm not sure why the rating here is low. Great solid road trip McDonald's. Have stopped here a dozen times+ over ski trips. It's a nice location off the highway. Usually quite busy at breakfast but the staff has been nice and no bad experiences stand out. These workers do stand up to some bad reviews but overall they serve a lot of people. The interior is all touch screen ordering. Love doing the App deals, you can get things like $2 McGriddles and dollar burgers. Several other fun businesses in the plaza and easy on/off to Rte 6. read more

On my way back to Denver from the Western Slope, I stopped at my usual place and ordered a quarter pounder burger, just that. I was however, surprised at being pressured into ordering a meal or a drink as well. I declined, purchased and ate the burger, which was actually good. Late that night (early morning), I became very ill with symptoms of Norovirus. Not wanting to describe what I went through, I invite the reader to Google it. The active part of the illness lasted two days. I was sick for another three days. I'm still recovering. I thoroughly investigated any other possible causes and narrowed it down to this establishment. I plan to report the incident to the Summit County Health Department tomorrow when they open. Alright. I normally don't review places like McD's because they tend to be all the same. The only time I review a fast food place is because of two reasons: super great service, or super bad. We frequented this McD's twice during our stay in Silverthorne. Most of the breakfast places in Silverthorne do not open up until 7 AM or later, and we needed to go places! Speaking of 'going' the bathroom was closed the two times I visited; for 'cleaning'. I am talking about 700 AM and around 730 AM just as the crowd is coming in. The dude is mopping up the floor on the two occasions that I visited, while the crowd is literally getting pissed. I was in line for the women's bathroom and I was thrilled to be able to use the crapper before hitting the road for the airport. Just as I get into the bathroom, the mopping dude alerts me that there is no toilet paper in the second stall, so don't use that one. I do my business and flush. And flush. And flush. And flush. Multiply this x 5. I was getting irritated. Should I just leave a nasty surprise for the next diner? Or should I miss my plane? I could hear the other toilet users repeatedly flushing their toilets too. It sounded like "glub glub glubbb glubbb glub". That's what happens when you close the damned toilet stalls for cleaning and open them up all at once during prime time. The old plumbing system can't take all that crap at once. A poor unfortunate lady had gone into the stall without the toilet paper. I heard her say: "there is no toilet paper!" Poor lady. Glad it wasn't me. The only thing this McD's location was ready for was the already pre-made Egg McMuffins. They must have been made way in advance, because the muffins were stale. The Egg McMuffins cost $3.99 a piece here and $3.95 at McDonald's Denver International Airport - just an FYI. Due to a lot of recent mountain trips for both personal and work reasons, I have been to this location a little too much! It is such an easy place to grab something quickly when I am almost home and/or grab something hot for breakfast on the way up to the mountains. I am always impressed with how fast and friendly the staff are. Also, I truly want to steal all of their bilingual employees to work with me! I am impressed with their ability to switch languages with ease, and their enjoyment in just talking to you about random things. read more

I don't know why the ratings are so low. I've never had a bad experience here. It's a very convenient place to stop for grub and to pee after a long day of skiing. When I leave a review I do my best to be impartial. I also try to give the establishment a few chances. Since I have been here a bunch (at least 8 check-ins this year), I feel I can give my .02 on it. First let me start with some good. They rebuilt the place last year/earlier this year. It has an indoor play place for kids. This is good! The parking lot is overall bigger, which is also good. The drive-thru is wider and easier to navigate. However the little road going up to McD's and the turn-in has some issues (bumpy). It is also one-way only. Visitor's PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ROAD SIGNS!!! They have longer hours too. I am not sure about when they close inside, but they have 2 drive-thru stations and both are open most of the time. Late at night, they may close one down. These are pluses. Now onto the things that need work. #1 Hearing/Listening skills of the people taking the order. I ask questions, I don't just 'give an order'. LISTEN! I also know we are a bilingual country, but I'm not as cultured as I'd like to be. My 1st language is English, most in the US are similar. So being able to understand English is likely important for most jobs, even if it is not your 1st language. #2 Taking out the trash regularly. There use to be a trash bin in the drive-thru. It would go DAYS without being cleaned out. It was disgusting. I liked the convenience of throwing stuff away like wrappers, but I wouldn't if it was filled. It is no longer in drive through. There are 2 trash cans by the front door though. #3 Charging for condiments and how you make the food. I get charging for extra condiments. It is a business and they look at the bottom line. However, then TEACH your line cooks how to make a sandwich. I like to get the hot n spicy McChicken. I usually say 'no lettuce'. Do not put 'too much' mayo, but don't skimp either. Some on both sides is just fine. Same with other sandwiches. Have you ever eaten a Big Mac and there is hardly any big mac sauce? Annoying isn't it? As a manager, this is what I tell my people. Make it like it was for YOU or YOU were going to eat it. Effort people, effort. #4 The overkill with napkins. With California trying to make (or already has?) a law 'banning' straws....can we at least be aware of the overkill of passing out napkins??? I mean come on establishments! From BK to Wendy's to Starbucks to DQ to Chick-fil-A to Taco Bell to Mc D's....it doesn't matter who...they ALL give like 10-20 each time!!! You want to talk about waste? There is some serious waste! I encourage people to start saying "NO NAPKINS PLEASE!" or "ONE NAPKIN ONLY PLEASE!" I was told in other countries (not sure where but eastern parts of the world) they frown upon people using napkins. They do not give them out. Perhaps we should learn something from this too. #5 Getting orders correct. There should be a person whose job is to check each bag, each order, each sandwich. People have allergies. People pay for things to be 'done their way'. Whether it is no lettuce, no onions, no pickle, no tomato, no specific condiment, etc... MAKE SURE IT IS ACCURATE! #6 Up-charge for drinks. Now let me first say, I get the cost of doing business. I live, breath and eat business daily. It's my job and I am very good at my job. Starbucks charges .60 typically for replacing the milk with Soy, Coconut or Almond milk. It costs more, therefore the cost is passed to the customer. However, McDonald's only charges $1 for a soda. doesn't matter the size. That is right folks, drink a Pepsi for a buck all day long! ICK!!!! However, if you purchase a milk (I prefer Chocolate) or an orange juice, expect an up-charge. Today, I was charged $1.79 for a large orange juice. HOLY MOLY!!! Yeah, I'm a bit annoyed. Let me get this straight, it is 'cheaper' to be unhealthy and eat unhealthy? Cause they also charge for tomato's added to your sandwich. Not pickles though. Fruits and vegetables cost more and more. Healthy food should NOT be so expensive!!!!!!! #7 The Sausage Egg McMuffin meal is less (by .50) than the Egg McMuffin meal. It costs $5.49 for the Sausage and Egg meal, but $5.99 for only the Egg McMuffin (has ham on it?) meal. When I asked at the window, they told me that the Sausage meal is on sale....really? for the last 6 months? I still call BS. Meat typically costs more, so what gives? If the Sausage Egg meal is $5.49, than the Egg meal should be $4.99, NOT $5.99!!! I'm guessing someone screwed up and no one wants to go fix it. The drive-thru board has had other errors on it before. There is a gentleman who works there, I cannot recall his name at the moment. He tries very hard to make things accurate. I wish he was made manager, I have a feeling things would be run more accurate there. I give this establishment 2.5 stars. They did great on the new remodel. I love the play place for the kids, they even have mobile ordering and remote ordering stations. However, still errors that need addressing. read more

Needed a quick, cheap bite to eat while passing through town, so we stopped at McDonald's. Big mistake. I have four kids and we got three happy meals, and a quarter pounder for the oldest. I watched as the manager worked as fast as he could to throw food into bags for us, yelling at the other employees to go faster, faster, faster. Man were they fast at throwing whatever food they could get their hands on into bags and call my number! Trouble was, they got everything - everything - wrong. I had to go back into the restaurant three separate times to get the right burgers, the right drinks, the right fries, all so we could choke down the nasty non-food that McDonald's charges egregious prices for. They were busy so I understood, then the general manager of the store started raising his voice at me about how I've changed my order in front of other customers. He blatantly talked about me in front of me to his employees and threw food in a bag and gave it to me. Ok so wow, we strolled through the drive-thru before we had to catch our flight after 18" had fallen and we stopped by to grab something to eat after our 72 Hours at Snowberry and not only did they score us some breaky goods close to 11am but I enjoyed the fluffiest softest Sausage McMuffin ever!!! They only had 4 left so we took all four along with a couple Double Cheeseburgers, Fries, a Chocolate Milkshake and a regular Cheeseburger... the Sausage McMuffins were a huge hit, warm, cheese melted all the way through (no hard aka square cheese corners) and we were all so happy and didn't mind the longer than usual drive back from Dillon, CO to DIA. Thanks Mags for driving and thanks McDonald's... I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast here and was probably the highest calorie item I had all weekend... and by that I mean highest calorie solid I took-in, alcohol doesn't count! read more

The important thing to note about this McD's is that they have hot air hand dryers in the restrooms. Genius move in ski country, where people have cold, wet hands more than half the year. I stopped in late on the 4th of July last week and almost died of happiness to see the hot air machines because I was soaking wet from using a wet sander all day that just so happens to spray water in a way that makes you look like you peed your pants. In just a minute under that baby, the front of my shirt and jacket had dried and I didn't have to suffer the whole drive home with a wet crotch. You could easily do the same for your ski gloves when the season changes. Why don't they put those things in ski lodges and slopeside bars? Another thing to note is that their extra value menu items are not $1 like most places. Hello, it's a tourist trap. This is NBD to me, as the size of the french fries on that menu = nowhere near large enough for a normal person such as myself anyway. read more

I think we discovered the worst McDonalds in the world. When you consider the number of McDonalds in the world, this is actually an amazing accomplishment. No cars in line and we see just 1 customer inside at the corner and so we figured good news, fast service. Nope. It took them over 5 minutes to provide our order - 2 double cheeseburgers. Ah so maybe the 5 minutes was so they could cook them up fresh. Ha ha ha no. The patties had to have been cooked 30 minutes earlier. They were low grade shoe leather that was room temperature. One word of warning - don't throw the burgers from this McD at anyone, you could do serious injury. read more

While we were driving to Las Vegas we stopped at McDonald's almost exclusively because the food is consistent, the iced coffee are a great price, they have clean bathrooms and free WiFi. All the McDonald's we visited weren't the same as the ones from my youth, bright and bold. Today McDonald's has a more comfortable atmosphere, professional and use neutral colors for the restaurant's interior. I was impressed. I am sure there are some that are still use bright colors, but the ones we visited were places I would sit and study at. read more
