Giving this place 3 stars, only because the manager took time to actually listen to what I was saying and do what he could to resolve the issue. The ambiance and food is usually fine, but the service could use some work... Looks like they've gotten new staff since I've been gone. I get the same meal from this place every time I come (through the mobile app). I took some time off to diet, and when I came back to order my meal (Big Mac with no bun and extra lettuce, meat, and Mac sauce, they essentially stuffed it in a Big Mac box. Mind you, I'm paying an extra 3 dollars for these ingredients. I knew I was getting skimped because the ingredients would only fit on a platter. I sent the meal back twice because they literally just remade the meal twice then told me that they "don't have platters". And to get a refund, which I can't do on the MCDS app. I call the manager over and he has them remake it. What a surprise, the meal comes on a platter. Nothing makes me more disappointed than being flat out lied to by workers. Had the manager not come and personally resolved the issue, I probably would have sworn to never come here again. The owner of this franchise had no problem bumping up prices after the City of Seattle raised the minimum wage. And we get lower quality service to boot. Ordered a quarter pound meal and they supersized it all even though I asked for a medium. Then I was charged $1 for a cup of water even though I also had a coke. Yes, we need to increase water intake. Talk about a sense of entitlement on profit margins. Also, I said I was dining in. Got my meal in a to go bag so that they can save on labor costs. That is very rude. I know a few people that will not bus their tables when this happens. Management wants to cut labor costs at the expense of customer service. The reasoning behind Seattle and other municipalities having higher minimum wage requirements is due to the higher cost of housing and other essential items. McDonald's has been unwilling to provide decent wages and got themselves in a scenario of Seattle and other cities having to raise wages. Then they bump up prices and lower service standards. Well, I can go to AM PM, 7-11 or other convenience stores that maintain better service standards. read more

This McDonald's is not a good one. The wait is too long, and it almost seems as if that's just "how it is" at this place. The quality in food and customer service at this location (the one near Lowe's on Rainier) has been going down consistently for quite some time. It's incredible if the order is correct. There's usually something missing in the bag. On my order there was some "special order/no pickle" label on my burger box that was so confusing cause I didn't ask for no pickle. Before I could order I was told just a moment, a few minutes later two cars pull into the drive thru had their orders taken before I could order which made the line even longer. The short younger manager shook her head with attitude while saying "I am the manager" making me repeat myself asking for someone higher up. They refused to fix my order and didn't refund me either. ENVIROMENT: - The building is fine, but there's a homeless person camping in front of the bus station closest to the McDonald's and some other sketchy people around, especially at night. Even with my partner, we were worried about our safety. These are things outside of this McDonald's control, but we tried to dine in when it was dark outside, and they told us to leave because the lobby closes at 10 pm, according to whom I assume was the manager or lead. This information should be posted clearly. It was just me and my partner, and I don't see why they couldn't let us sit down for a moment to eat before leaving. It's also confusing that the lobby closes at that time, but this location is listed as 24 hours. We left anyway, assuming it's true that the lobby closes for valid reasons, but we felt uneasy being forced outside with the sketchy characters around. - Inside the store was clean, and from a quick look around, I didn't see anything broken or vandalized, though we didn't really get to sit down. - There's a large parking lot if you have a car. - There wasn't an offensive smell inside either. SERVICE: - There was a manager or lead in the morning who copped an attitude with us when we came in the next day after our night visit when we got kicked out. We were missing a KitKat banana split ice cream, the coffee was the lowest quality ever (it was nothing but water and coffee, no flavoring of the chocolate iced mocha coffee we ordered), and we also didn't get the +$0.80 tartar sauce inside the fish fillet burger. Just three items we were disappointed with. We made a call that night to report the messed-up order when we got home, then came in the store to resolve the errors and have a better experience. The manager or lead that assisted us did not speak directly to us and instead spoke to their employee in Spanish so we couldn't understand. My partner understands a bit of Spanish, and when the manager asked if we understood, we said yes, and suddenly they stopped speaking in Spanish around us. I do not appreciate sneaky behavior like that. She could have talked to us directly in English instead of to an employee who knew very little about what happened. We felt like she was suspicious of us being dishonest and just wanting the whole meal again for free, even though we outlined on our receipt what the issues were. We just wanted to get our ice cream and have the two items that were messed up remade or get a refund on the tartar sauce. The manager interrogated us about why we didn't check the order and didn't care to listen to our explanation. She tried to advise us about the coffee, saying if we wanted something sweet, we should have gotten something else. I informed her that the drink was poorly made and not what we ordered at all. It was nothing but water and coffee, which I knew because when they remade the drink for us, it was way better. We just wanted to try new things at their best or at least the usual quality, but instead got interrogated and judged. I advise that the workers and especially the managers at this location learn not to assume and heavily profile paying customers, then immediately treat them poorly based on assumptions. We spoke professionally and calmly, and we've worked in this field before, so we understand what the work is like. Even we wouldn't act like that towards a customer and give such poor customer service and attitude. I expect more from managers, especially. I hope you don't treat your employees like that or worse. - Despite being a 24-hour location and kicking us out into a dangerous environment outside, the employees had way better customer service skills and attitudes compared to the managers. We did get our order fixed. FOOD: - I won't count the messed-up orders we had since that is not the typical quality. Anyway, there aren't any notes I can make about the food or drink so far, other than the coffee. It was OK. It's not something I would get again or recommend, but it was decent. Just don't come at night asking for it; maybe in the morning, it would be better made, like it was for us. Very light coffee. Anyway, we won't be coming back due to the awful experience, but we can make some recommendations for things we did enjoy. - Recommendations: The KitKat banana split was really delicious and sweet. It almost tastes like caramel ice cream, so if you have a sweet tooth and you're into that, it would be perfect for you. Give it a try. I don't think it was super strongly sweet or overwhelming. I'm going to start by saying I only go through the drive thru at this McDonald's. The thing I like about this location is the split drive through order lanes. If anything, it gives the illusion of faster service. The food is pretty on brand and the service has been good for me. I usually go to this location when I need to provide breakfast for our contractors. Sadly, I will avoid this location in the future. I walk by this location every morning. Today, I had to briefly step into the grass to avoid disrupting some construction workers, and to avoid being splashed by oncoming traffic. This is probably the most uninviting McDonald's I've ever been to. They don't have condiments, straws, napkins available for customers unless you go up to the front register and ask a staff member. There's no loitering signs everywhere and signs that say you can't be in the store no more than 30 mins! I understand the neighborhood is pretty sketchy and I'm pretty sure I saw someone stick up a needle up their arm 200 feet away from the store but still. The whole vibe was very off and weird. The messed up orders was a given and rude service was the expectation you had. After years of not eating fast food and moving into this neighborhood, I came to this McDonald's. I was blown away by the customer service, it was awesome! No one ever had an attitude, were always charming and accommodating. I literally bragged about this to my partner and friends. However, the past couple of nights I have come come to this location, and your night crew is horrible compared to your day crew. This is the first and ONLY McDonalds I have ever "eaten" at. I have never made that mistake again. The store opened in the early 1960's when I was a teenager and offered a free burger and coke.. I went in and the guy literally reached under the counter and pulled out one of each, I took one bite and sip and tossed all in the trash and walked out.
