There are few things more seasonally satisfying than the cold, creamy, mint-y goodness topped with a cloud of whipped cream. I ordered through the app when I was picking up an order at CVS' drive-thru and as I drove to MacDonald's drive-thru, my order was ready. Sadly I agree with the other reviews and share in their disappointment around the food quality and cleanliness at this McDonald's. For starters, this is probably my first McDonald's food in 5 years. I came here to have some fun with my kids. They're always asking to come, and I always say no, but when they asked to go in order to see if ordering unsalted fries actually got you hotter and fresher fries, I said sure. I'm not sure if we hit this one after a big rush (330pm). We first hit the restroom and found an empty soap dispenser and the soap insert sitting on the sink counter. I walked up to the register to ask for more soap, and after a bit I got someone's attention from the back, but never heard if they'd be putting more in, so we washed with hand sanitizer. We ordered two 6pc Nugget happy meals, a large fry and a 3 piece chicken strips. The happy meals were as expected, though despite ordering milk we received juice. The meal was supposed to include a Disneyland toy, but each came with a different type of toy. My older son was going to order a regular meal and went for the happy meal because of the Disneyland toy that reminded him of the trip we just took, and when I asked for the Disney toy they said they were out. After ordering we looked for a table and I noticed that a lot of them in the dining room and the play place were very dirty. It's 420 now and I see someone cleaning the tables now. The other odd thing is that everything you need to enjoy your meal seems to be behind the counter. Ketchup is accessible but water, napkins, salt, etc must be requested, and since it seems McDonald's has gone to mobile and kiosk ordering, getting someone at the counter was quite tricky and I had to ask three different people at three different times for what we needed, like napkins. As for the food quality, the chicken nuggets were as expected and the unsalted fries were hotter and fresher and awesome. The McStrips were absolutely awful. Rubbery, not crispy, and with the same chewy texture as the nuggets, not the real chicken I was expecting. This was a huge disappointment and confirmed why I've avoided eating this stuff for so long. I had hoped in the movement toward better food, McDonald's would have been inspired and come around to offering something better, and the strips looked like they'd fit the bill. I really should've returned my food. The best part of the visit was that the ice cream machine was working, so the kids got to experience the glory of a soft serve cone! Do better for all of us. One star due to your store manager. Been coming here for over a year and getting my sausage biscuit sub bacon at no extra charge. Today i wasn't even greeted by the store manager as she rudely took over for her employee instead of continuing training. She said she can sub bacon and she doent care what her employees have been doing she is the store manager and she said she will mot be substituting bacon for sausage. She said it doesn't matter if you don't like sausage theres no substituting at her store and gave me the sausage bisquit even though i didn't want it and closed the door on my face. The sandwich to top it off looked horrible like it was under the warmer and the bisquit was harder than a rock. Let her atay in the office her team was perfect without her non sense. Really really rude as she told the new employee and other employee to get out of her way. Maybe she is the reason why her turnout rate at her location is so high. Rude service. I frequent this location the most for convenience despite it being the most inconsistent. I think the traffic through here is hit or miss so food sometimes sits and dies like the fries. For whatever reason their sweet tea is always odd and gross. read more

Hate to admit it, but I patronize this McDonalds just about every week for my son, who is a chicken mcnugget aficionado. This McDonalds does have the best service of the ones I have been to. To date, my orders have been 100% accurate, which is actually good considering McDonalds track record of not getting orders right. Fast, cheap food. Consistent. Great fries. Chicken McNuggets are pretty good. Ice cream shakes and cones are the best on warm, summer days. Service is good. There was no seat protectors in the women's bathroom, the garbage was overflowing and the worst thing was there was no hand soap. So, do the employees wash their hands? Eeeew What good does it do to self serve and put in your table number only to have your food not delivered and find it sitting ten minutes later sitting on the counter waiting for YOU to pick up...cold fries of course. The play area needs to be seriously cleaned. It smells like old dirty feet/socks. Wouldn't surprise me if your child gets hand foot and mouth from playing on the play structure. I only come here for the kiddos, but this time was probably the last. I ordered Happy Meals and they didn't give me the sauce. I went up to the counter and they said they'd have to charge me, even after explaining I didn't get what I paid for. I'm over 40 and the 16 year old who barely speaks English (which I don't care if you're not rude) didn't believe me and asked for my recipe. Well, I used the non-human interaction kiosk (that probably allows you to keep your job) like I was told to, and it doesn't print receipts. Incredibly slow service. 30 plus minutes for 4 cars ahead of me. One time the app crashed, charged me anyways, and the manager just said "damn, nothing we can do" like wtf do you mean. Want McDonald's on your way to work early in the morning? DONT STOP HERE! If you see a white Lexus in the parking lot the lady will NOT open on time. They are supposed to open at 0600 but she'll not open the door or drive thru until almost 20 minutes after the opening time. And she also sound like she's yelling at you when you order in the drive thru "HI CAN I TAKE ORDER!?" Sounds super aggressive. Update: After stopping in at the Steamboat location of McDonald's, gave up calling, they referred me to Soussie at the Reno HQ. Soussie took my information which included a photo of the back of the "ARCH" cards, bank statement showing charge (couldn't locate receipt) she was able to have her supervisor sign off on reimbursement of the charge. Unfortunately now that every fast food joint seems to be short-staffed, they rarely (if ever) open the restaurant for customers. The past few times we've tried to go, it was drive thru only, so the line can get lonnnngggggg during prime meal hours. You can order ( & pay) on the app and drive thru with your order # to pick it up, but not sure how much faster that is than just ordering at the drive thru since they usually open only one line, so you still have to wait for everyone in front of you to get their orders first. The times we actually get food from here, it's usually disappointing for one reason or another but like a toxic ex, you just keep giving them another try hoping they've changed (WRONG!). At this rate, I predict this location will shut down if something doesn't change (actually open the restaurant for customers, update their business hours, get orders correct, salt the fries, etc.) Hope this location survives the pandemic (however much longer we will be in this). read more

I have to say that we have been to this McDonald's three times since we have moved to Reno, back in March of this year, every time the service is unbelievably terrible, the restaurant has been dirty, but this time the service was terrible, the restaurant was un-excusably dirty, and our order was wrong and I had to ask for three things that were missing. There was only one other person in the dining room. There were no clean tables in the playroom, it was disgusting, there were no sanitary wipes to wipe the table, I asked for those and was refused. I ended up taking the towel that I got, and cleaning my own table. There were french fries, and sauce, table, order, numbers, ketchup, pieces of food, and everything you can imagine, spewed all over the restaurant. Trashes were full, and it was grease all over the tables and the kids play area. The fountain drink area was disgusting. Our food was disgusting, we ordered chicken nuggets and fries, the Nuggets were burned and hard as a rock and cold, and the fries were burned at hard as a rock and cold. You will see in the photographs. There is no excuse for this, please do not waste your money, or spend a dime eating here, they don't deserve it, the drive-through does not see the disgusting environment that your food is being made in, if it's this bad in the lobby. I wonder what it's like in the kitchen area. Please do not patronize this place, we are done third time is a charm. There are plenty of other McDonald's, just drive a little farther. I am sending all of this information to the health department as well. Please be careful where you give your children food. Please be careful where you let your children play. Worst fast food experience ever. Will never ever come back to this place again. Took over 21 minutes to order a single McFlurry in the drive through with only one person in front of me and they only ordered one small bag of food. Had to shut off my car while waiting in 105 degree weather. Couldn't back up because I was trapped by multiple cars behind me. Our order was totally mixed up and we were not only missing food we had ordered but we were charged for food missing. I took the receipt to the store and was told 4 times that I would not get the food replaced or cash back for the charges on my receipt . I was also told I had to call first and that just a receipt was not acceptable for me to use to get credited back with food or cash. I asked where does it state in the store or on the receipt you need to call first. I asked to talk to the manager and she was also not willing to do the right thing until I informed her I was not going anywhere until she gave me the food or the money back for all the mistakes. My family and I frequently get food from this location but we will never go back again. As a lot of people have replied they are improving. I mostly order via the drive in and I must say with the two lanes they've become faster and more efficient and try to cut down on the wait times. The food still taste fresh, often times a good temperature. When holidays are in effect they should ask if you want the special Apple pies or regular in my humble opinion it helps experience wise. Just remember to get your kid a cup of water when you give your order. If you forget and go back later, you will get, "Oh...I'm sorry, I will have to charge you for that." Yet, you can see in the cashier's eyes that she is really just trying to figure out how to make sense of your question and figures it must somehow involve the register. No common sense ever at this location...not even to hand over an empty cup so the customer can fill the water. Orders are seldom correct. I wish this McDonald's were 24/7, but I realize this is South Reno and very few people want to get McDonald's later than 11 pm or earlier than 6 am. I often get Micky D's for breakfast on special occasion Thursday mornings before work, and the female employee with the Indian accent who works the drive thru in the mornings is THE BEST. She is so pleasant and cheerful that I feel like I am visiting a friend rather than indulging in a guilty pleasure. I always order the same meal, but I always change what size coffee I want and how many creams and sugar substitutes I want. But she always gets it right, and she's super fast at taking my debit card and handing me my order. Every now and then I'll go in rather than use the drive thru, and this has given me insight into how well the employee who is one or two rungs above the drive thru lady manages the operation. I always see her hustling to help the other employees and helping the show run smoothly. My experience at this McDonald's is a million times better than my experience at the Vassar location, where everything takes forever, and it's way better than the Keystone McDonald's (my former go-to location, when I lived downtown) because it's not at all shady. read more
