Solid McDonalds choice in the area. Plenty of parking and a fairly large and well decorated dining area. The service using the kiosks was friendly and surprisingly quick in preparing our food. Food came out as expected in terms of temperature and flavor, fairly consistent with what I expect out of a McDonalds.

Went to McDonald's for a McFlurry. They had a promotion bon their app for their new flavor Caramel Brownie with their vanilla soft serve. It was simply awesome! The texture of the brownies were.maintained and the caramel was perfect with the vanilla Mc D's soft serve. Only issue I had was the staff ignoring me or even running into me as I was awaiting acknowledgement for my order. They dont have in-room dining open so they must not want customers hanging out or have forgotten customer service with a smile (indoors at least). Guess they don't really expect to have people stand and order anymore since they have the kiosks for ordering. The drive thru is super busy - always occupied. But I'd prefer to do curbside with their app. Once you're there, just indicate which number slot you're parked at and they'll rush out your order with a smile. So if you want a positive experience, you should not expect to interact with a human for ordering anyway.

Kiosk to order your food and sanitizers on the left side of the kiosk!

I haven't gone to a McDonald's for a very long time and I decided to bring lunch for my grandkids! I went in to order my food and I only had to wait 5 minutes and my food was ready! They still don't have dine in service yet! The food was very tasty and brings back memories! They have the best fries but I thought it was pretty pricey for French fries!

Their wine prices for the bottle are very reasonable with a wide selection. They only charge $20 for a corkage fee should you want to bring your own. The space is cozy so making a reservation would be advisable. My only regret was ordering the espresso martini which was really disappointing since everything else was so good. It didn't have the right foam on top and tasted really off so avoid that but their other cocktails were delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more!!

Service was also great! I ordered the Beyond Burger with "sautéed jalapeno, onion, mushroom, corn, and a light shmear of stone-ground mustard". It tasted great, and the portion size was plentiful. The menu also offered other vegan options such as the Vegetable Jambalaya (which I didn't order because it's super spicy), and the Asian Vegetable Noodle Bowl (with tofu). I would like to come back to try the bowl for sure! The decor is interesting; it made me feel like I was in the 1980s... somewhere out of town. The low ceiling was the only thing I wasn't a fan of since it made me feel a little claustrophobic. All in all, it was a great experience!

Charlie Beinlich's Food and Tap out in Northbook is this Dive Bar / Tavern established in 1950 and looked and felt every bit of its 75 years; I absolutely LOVED this place. Wow, talk about nostalgia! Beinlich's emanated an era way back when that just doesn't exist anymore. At 7:30 pm this Saturday night this cash only place was packed to over flowing. I mean Humming like a turbine engine. The bar was sold out and we jumped on the only table left. Now the fun started: * Their Chili con Carne is this cauldron of meat and beans done thoroughly right. We loved it * Their shrimp cocktail was equally wonderful * My Cheeseburger was out of this world. With sautéed onions, real cheddar cheese, on toasted rye bread - Wow, it was so good. * Their French fries and coleslaw were great sides * My Miller Highlife Beer in a bottle took me back to my college days. The service was great, the ambience was better and the crowd was just this mess of very happy people. Will I come back here - a resounding YES! This is exactly what happens to you when you go out with the right people.

It was very busy when we got there, so that last one might just be me, lol. As a former New Yorker I have to say...the pizza....if you like eating cardboard covered in cheese this is your place. The baked mostaccioli was decent enough, but topped with enough cheese to give you the cheese sweats. It is very much 70's vibes. We were number 120. After them calling 126 a half dozen times I told my husband he better check to make sure that wasn't us...it was. ‍ I thought it looked very clear. Oh well. The pizza was gross. Pasta was kind of good. Overall would not go back unless I was with someone who insisted. I'd try the chicken parm next time, someone a table over had it and it looked good (I do bet there was a lot of cheese on that too). The place pretty much emptied out in the time it took me to get through my cheese so I was able to get some decent interior pictures. Also this is the menu with current (may 2026) prices.

On a rainy Thursday night, we finally had a chance to check it out because we wanted a quick and easy meal before heading to the Art exhibition opening in the Northbrook Public Library close by. The restaurant was not busy at the time. There was only 1 table occupied. After we settled down, there was another small table taken. Our waitress was friendly, but after she brought the Miller Light for my husband and a draft beer "Fist City" for our daughter, she forgot about my lemonade. I had to remind her when she brought our food. She also just brought 1 Fish Taco when my daughter ordered 2, and had to place another order again. Not a big deal. When we left and passed by her, she didn't say anything like thank you or good bye, just looking at us. It was a little awkward. Well, maybe she's just not very outgoing. Hope that I was not expecting too much from a little eatery. Now on to the tacos. There were hits and misses. The Crispy Avocado Taco was very good! It's my first time tasting fried avocado, crispy and flavorful! I would order that again! However, the lamb in the Lamb Carnitas Taco was bland and rather dry. it's the first time that I ever had lamb that had no flavor. Although the mango slaw had a nice crunch, tart and refreshing, and went well with the lamb meat, it was skimpy and not enough to top all the meat. I joked to my husband that maybe that's the taste of munching on cardboard! I don't like to waste food and I wasn't full, but I could not continue eating, and had to waste half of the lamb taco. Husband thought that his Blackened Salmon Taco was OK, but his Steak Taco was not, since every bite of steak had gristle. He was surprised since that was supposed to be their signature taco. Daughter's 2 Fish tacos were good, except that she didn't like the flour taco shells. She prefers corn taco shells. My lamb taco had corn taco shells (2 layers) and the crispy avocado had flour shells. I love supporting local businesses and really planned to give Eataco 5 stars before we came, but had to deduct 1 star after we dined in. However, when I read more reviews afterward and found that many customers enjoyed the 2 bottles of salsa (1 green and 1 red) that came with the tacos, and we had no condiments of any kind on our table. Should I had a bottle of salsa, the Lamb Carnitas would have been edible. Unfortunately, I had to deduct another star. Our overall experience at Eataco was not bad, it took us only 55 minutes for the meal. It fits the bill when you need something quick and simple.
