As we were driving for a while without finding this mystery place I figured they had gone out of business (like so many other places that couldnt keep up with the chains) and we almost stopped at Burger King because we were so hungry. I decided to keep going and find another restaurant when a couple miles down the road there it was!!! I was actually excited when we pulled in. We sat at the counter and my wife and I both ordered the cheeseburger garbage plates with everything but relish and I have to say this was one of my top 10 meals! IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! I had a milkshake with my plate and it was awesome too. We were so happy with the food the server brought the owner and his wife out to meet us. Great folks! They told me this place almost became a Dollar General before they took it over!!! What a waste of a wonderful tradition for the people in that area. We do a lot of what we call "cheeseburger rides" on the motorcycles with friends and I have no idea why it took so long to get back to this place... I would make a long story short but its too late to do that. We are looking forward to returning here with my son (who was with me 35 years ago) and friends often. I hope everyone in that area appreciates this place and supports them as often as they can. These are the places that make memories for Generations and its shameful to see any of them go away. I couldn't even get my fork into many, and they were so bland. I doused them in ketchup and the "awesome sauce" on the table. No help. The pepper and onions were largely absent.. They were so finely diced, and also overcooked, it was easy to miss. Sausage, bacon, and ham were VERY crispy and a little burnt, but they were still tasty. The eggs were spot on. It came with meat sauce or sausage gravy. Both were very rich. I passed on my meat sauce (too much allspice and/or nutmeg for me). Husband ate his gravy. He said it was sausage forward, with little gravy, but definitely scratch made and good. Full points for that. Coffee was ok, nothing great, a little weak. Now, I will give them credit as we came in at the end of breakfast. So maybe that was it. We got what they had left. The staff was great!
