I don't see why there are so many negative reviews. I go here at least once a week, pre-order through the McDonald's app, get some great offers (and their rewards program is pretty darned good). I always use the drive-thru and the employees are always friendly - and fun! Nate is the best, he is always smiling and laughing. The food is good for fast food. Coffee is a hit or miss. So far 2/3 tasted good. Friendly service, clean, very spacious, lots of parking. LOBSTAH ROLL 8.99 you get what you pay for, folks. There's a reason most places charge double that price for lobster on a hotdog bun. This thing was offensive. It tasted like it was cooked, frozen, thawed out during the Bush Administration, then served to unsuspecting tourists for nine whole american dollars. Criminal. We needed a little break from all our shopping so a quick stop here for an ice coffee(McDs always seems to have a great tasting ice coffee) and an urge for soft serve cone we were able to get both and sit and relax. We had planned to go to a local ice cream spot but the line was super long, so to save time and have a little peace and quiet, we came here. Only one in the outlet area, we stop in probably once each trip up here. Typical McDs, clean and served quick. We must time it right, as we never seen to hit the rush crowd. read more

so i used to get ketchup and pickles only on my burgers (which was great they never messed up), then they changed their pickles so i started getting only ketchup. every single time i asked for burgers with ONLY ketchup, i would get an absurd amount of onions on them. every. single. time. which i didnt mind too much, their onions are good. so i started asking for burgers with ketchup and onions only, only for them to give me cheeseburgers with ketchup, and like 4 tiny little pieces of onions on the bottom bun. so NOW i ask for ketchup and EXTRA onions only, just to get an overwhelming amount of onions both on top of AND under the patty. im talking like an entire tablespoon and a half on both the top and bottom of the patty. and a sprinkle of onions literally on top of the bun. whatever though right? i can just suck it up or scrape some off. except now i swear these people have it out for me or something lol. i normally will get 2 cheeseburgers when i do go to mcdonalds. i either will get one burger that doesnt even have a patty on it, so it's literally just cheese and freakin bread, or i get a normal cheeseburger with everything on it with the most absurd pile of mustard. i absolutely despise mustard, its literally my worst enemy. so im sure you can imagine how i just wanna cry everytime i get home, take a bite and just taste the most vile taste ive ever had in my mouth. i had already left and gone home to eat, im not gonna get back in my car and go ask for them to be redone, most of the time they aren't even redone properly. there has been multiple times where ive gone back inside to have my food redone, or ive called to kindly ask them to keep track of what they do. they literally do NOT answer their phones. the last time i called that mcdonalds and they answered was like a solid 2 years ago. Best one so far. Sorry to our last favorite, new man in town. Ordered on the machine. Starving so got something new today. Honestly gonna be my new go to. Best nuggets. Had a very nice display with all condiments, get your own drinks, we love not needing to ask for a cup. Huge inside. Separate room if you need a quiet place to study. Spilt my soda and it cleaned itself . Awesome. Coloring sheets. Has advertisement to help international students have a home to stay at over the summer. Very charitable, charismatic, kind. read more

Incredibly bad service. Waited at the drive thru pulled up to order at 10:47 am. Ordered some breakfast sandwiches and was rudely informed that breakfast was not available. Nothing on website, probably a good thing food is generally below average for McDonald's. Avoid and go the Portsmouth if you want nice service and good food. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced the way that staff speak to customers is unreal. I had a bad experience 2 months ago contacted corporate about it they emailed me saying management would contact me never happed. Not one to shut a business out for one Bad experience. So I thought I would try it again this evening I drove through drive-through gentleman who took my order was very rude told me to hold on after I gave him my order. A little common courtesy from your employees Mike help this business out. I can only take they learned from the management who refused to contact customers after a pretty big concern. Went today and asked if I could buy a box a straws for my sons school project. The woman was so rude and annoyed for me even asking. Then told me no after "asking management". If Mcdonald's wants to improve their image here is a great place to start. I could of easily taken the straws, but didn't. In addition she was rude to a cashier that was clearly new and trying his best when he asked for her help entering an item. Edit. My wife tried to buy breakfast but the manager taking orders had us wait so long that we couldn't get breakfast anymore. Refused to accommodate us even a little bit. Our food is on the All Day Breakfast but it was still a long wait. McDonalds is one of the very few restaurants available for the tourists/discount mall shoppers in the Route 1 area of Kittery. Across the street sits Burger King. You would think that this would motivate some kind of rivarly in business quality or promotions but these restaurants are all being run by young kids and a handful of Colley-McCoy Corp lifers. Translation: the only thing this company cares about is the bottom line financially. First the good: There is plenty of parking as the parking lot shares their parking with the malls. Secondly, the wait time is generally acceptable. The food is fresh and I have seen food thrown out that is an hour past its' expiration time (breaks my heart). The bad things: 1) CLEAN the rest rooms! Every single time I go in there these OUT DATED rooms are disgisting. The hand towel dispenser is usually empty and the toilets are in need of better monitoring. A schedule needs to be adhered to as far as checking and cleaning those bathrooms. Also, the toilet paper is often empty and not refilled. I feel bad for the foreign exchange students who work there for a year (or work VISA students) because they are pretty much slaves to the corporation or they will be sent back. I also feel badly for the people whose jobs were taken for cheaper labor. Colley McCoy (the owners) will hire managers and expect them to work 65-70 hours per week and many have seen a personal toll on their family/life. So, be kind to the person behind the counter--the ones on salary are working crazy hours. In truth, one can make a good salary as store manager and they are skilled in food safety, etc. so you are safe eating there. In Kittery there is a nice play area--just watch the children as it adjoins the very busy parking lot. Don;t hesitate to complain if something is not to your liking--you are the corps eyes and ears. If you don't get satisfaction, the corporate 800 number is plastered everywhere. In closing, clean up your toilets, Kittery, and get that under control. The food is fresher than Burger King for the most part but it is pretty much a toss up. (Tip: Don't eat directly off of plastic trays--the are often put back without washing them-they are supposed to be washed and sanitized but sometimes workers will take a rag and brush them off. Yuck. Just put something over the trays if you are not sure--a study showed that is a common form of food borne illness transmission. Safer and more sanitary than other fast food if time is short and you have kids. (As to the TV question below, it has one but it was never on, so not sure if that got fixed). read more
