I never come to McDonald's, the in n out next door had a 30+ minute wait because of the Tesla supercharger across the street and all of the Tesla people walking over. I generally like the Big Mac, but the Big Mac I ordered here was awful. First of all look at the photo, it's incredibly small, they shouldn't call it a Big Mac anymore. And second of all they gave me no Big Mac sauce. I was very polite and I went to the desk and asked for some more sauce, not a lot just a little. The guy was trying to charge me but I told him I wasn't given much on my burger. This conversation went nowhere, I had to go to the manager. Pretty silly at this point talking to a manager for more Big Mac sauce. I literally had to bring my burger over to show I was not lying, they said that I was given the normal amount of sauce but she said she'll give me more sauce just this one time because usually they have to charge for more sauce. This place is an absolute joke, you pay more, you get less, the burger is smaller, when you ask for just a little bit more of sauce you have to talk to a manager. This not just this McDonald's this is probably instructions from the higher ups. Never again never again. We are in the year 2026 and McDonald's is on my avoid list. read more

My family and I were on a road trip to Solvang Friday morning and stopped in Kettleman City for a bathroom break and quick breakfast. We ordered the Steak, Egg and Cheese Bagel meal with OJ, Sausage McMuffin meal with Vanilla Iced Coffee, an order of Hotcakes and a Lemonade. I can't speak on the ambiance since we ordered at the drive-thru, but we were asked to pull up to a spot to wait for our food which is always annoying - they do this so their wait times aren't affected instead of just having us wait at the window. I think we waited an additional 5 minutes or so before our food was ready. Order was correct and the food was pretty good for a McDonald's - I actually really enjoyed my Vanilla Iced Coffee - it wasn't overly sweet like most locations. Ordering is so easy with the kiosks, and the food comes out so quick. It was really busy, but they must have an efficient system. The breakfast sandwiches were hot and fresh. I order a sausage egg McMuffin w/out the sausage. Still can't have a hash brown because of the beef additive, but hopefully they take that out one day. Plenty of seating and clean tables. This is a better option for snacks and coffee than the gas station next door. The two businesses share a bathroom which could be cleaner but also could be dirtier. McDonald's prices have gone up! Portions and quality have not. You order on a kiosk and there's not much confirmation that your order has gone through. It took too long to get my iced coffee and it was very very very sweet. Service was slow and not that helpful. There was a homeless guy who was creeping around which was disorienting. Lots of tables but they didn't seem that busy with orders. read more

When driving down south/north on I5 to/from LA, we make a stop at Kettleman City. This has two different sets of tesla superchargers so if you need to a quick charge, the Tesla superchargers are here as well. In terms of the McDonalds, when I went on a holiday weekend, this place was packed. I saw 3 tour busses parked along here so it could've been packed due to multiple reasons. You can ordered at the kiosk which is a lot faster than ordering at the counter. Service was surprisingly quick given it was packed and crowded. There is seating but since it was so busy, there wasn't enough seating for us. I would say the amount of seating is a normal amount I would expect. This McD shares space with Chevron gas station. Overall, food was what I would expect from a a McD, kiosk ordering was easy, busy but very quick/efficient. Definitely would come back during long road trips for food. read more

As far as McDonald's go - this wasn't a horrible experience. I stopped by as I was driving along the 5 and needed a break. There are quite a few fast food and family restaurants at this stop - on this side and across the way. Since I parked on the Bravo Farms side, I ended up grabbing a kid's meal just to have something small to eat before heading back on the road. I ordered through the kiosk as that seemed to be the prefered way now. It was pretty easy to order and then I waited for my order. After about 10 minutes, my order was ready and I was able to grab it and go. I wasn't expecting the best quality since it's fast food, but it wasn't bad. My hamburger was warm and the fries were good. My frozen coke was the best part of the meal. Restrooms are outside and shared with the gas station. I didn't use it as it was packed and I ended up walking over to somewhere else. Overall, not a bad place to grab a bite as your driving along the freeway and/or need a quick break - as long as you understand it's fast food. read more

Fantastic setup for I-5 on a Sunday afternoon. Huge parking lot, with extra bathrooms in the lot. Super crowded so we went in and ordered at the kiosk and braced for a wait - but by the time I came back from the bathroom, food was ready! They also have two drive up lines. Great job. read more

Part of a convenience store along the Interstate 5 and not a large indoor seating area, so mostly caters to drive thru and to go orders. One cashier which is not normally manned, as ordering is primarily through the app or kiosk. Considering the number of people there at noon, the orders came out quick. The food was McDonalds, so the fries were great and the burgers were ok. read more

Was on the road for a couple hours driving from LA to the Bay Area. Decided to stop for a bathroom break and a much needed food pick me up. So I opted to walk in the restaurant. Upon walking up to the counter there was already a much older couple waiting for someone to assist them. I noticed staff in the kitchen, including the manager on duty, preparing food. Waited around 10 minutes and no one ever came up to the counter or noticed a line forming. Now a total of 6-8 customers waiting in line to place their order. One of the customers in line shouted for help and was waved off by a staff member to just be patient. Well I got impatient and decided to get in my car and order through the drive thru. With only one vehicle in front of me it didn't even take more than 5 minutes to get order taken and get my food. Horrible service. If the restaurant is understaffed I completely understand, but there was no communication nor was there ever any slightest hesitation to help out the customers physically in the restaurant. Drive thru and online orders were the priority, unacceptable. Please managers do better in training staff there are older folks that still need help ordering at the front desk rather than a screen or their mobile device. Im not sure how long it took for customers to finally get some help but lets keep it real this is a FAST FOOD restaurant. This is a pretty solid rest stop when you're driving through the state. It's convenient that it's in Kettleman City as that is the midway point of California. I usually like to stop by for some jet fuel coffee and snacks for the road. I have to say that the price increase is always shocking, especially recently. The service is nice and it does take some time for your order. Usually I just drive to the parking spots to wait for my order. McDonald's is always my go-to when traveling because of their consistency. Food, service, bathrooms are usually good and I can count on finding a clean bathroom when I need one. The McDonald's in Kettleman City is an unfortunate exception. We have visited this McD's on five occasions and the only thing consistent about this location is their inaccuracy and poor customer service. On our last (and final) visit, the restaurant was out of ice, drink cups and straws. Based upon prior visits, we knew that our order would be filled incorrectly so we were not surprised when we received the wrong size fries and an extra hamburger. Drinking cokes out of a McFlurry cup with lid and no straw was weird but we managed to finish our drinks before they were too warm. Here's the good thing: the bathrooms are not in the same building and they are clean and offer several stalls. During each of our visits, they have been adequately stocked. There are other options for food and drink within the immediate vicinity and those might be a better option if you want food without drama and accurate order fulfillment. read more

After looking at the options, we decided to go for McDonald's and take advantage of their deals. Parking: Parking lot is busy. It's shared with the Chevron and the ExtraMile building. There's also a separate building dedicated to restrooms in the parking lot area. They also have a drive thru. Environment: The McDonald's is part of the ExtraMile building. Once you enter, you'll see the McDonald's sign near the restrooms (and probably a line for it). Plenty of indoor seating available. Place your order at the counter or use the kiosk. We ordered through the mobile app and it was ready after a short wait. Tables are not the cleanest. What was ordered: - Spicy Deluxe Crispy Chicken Sandwich (crispy and the sauce was tasty, not too spicy) - McDouble (added extra pickles and onions) Yay/Nay/Meh: Meh. Overall, I think it was what you'd expect at a McDonald's. Fast food, not so clean tables. At least we got our tummies filled up fast so we could be on our way. Credit cards are accepted. read more

There was a car in 1st drive thru just waiting so husband thought devise didn't work. He ended up pulling up, no one at the 1st window and lady at second window passing food didn't even look at the window. No, my husband wasn't rude, we were trying to find out if someone was there. Popular McDonald's for travelers on the 5. The large bathrooms here are the reason lots of people stop but the hours are so odd most times the doors are locked and people end up at the smaller bathrooms for the gas station. For some reason you line up for the bathroom by going through McDonald's and there are also lots of people that get good here. Because of that it's often crowded and the doors are constantly opening and closing letting in cold air. Ordering is done via a kiosk and I liked that a lot. Breakfast sausage sandwich, hash browns, coffee, and OJ tasted fine, it just took longer than usual to get the order. read more

Kettleman City is a must stop when you're on the 5 and I always go here for a little break on the drive. I was craving mcdonalds but I definitely made the wrong choice when better options were right across the street. This shares the bathroom with the station so there's usually a line for the restroom. Just fyi if you have to go, then you probably should go somewhere else without a wait. I normally don't rate fast food chains but I had to this time because this McDonald's was all the bad rumours you heard about. Drive through person sounded like they had an attitude and that they were doing you a favor. When I received my McChicken, there was more sauce on the paper packaging than the sandwich itself. Fries were stale and large fries weren't even filled all the way. I had to look for the fries in their signature red container. No napkins in the bag so I had to go inside and ask for some, which usually wouldn't be a big deal for me except the bag was leaking with sauces that was supposed to be on my sandwich instead. read more

I'm projecting here, but considering how uninspiring this crossroads town is, the enthusiasm conveyed by the gal who served us was a pleasant surprise. We stopped in because a) we were thirsty and b) there isn't really another convenient grab and go option for a drink around here. The drive-thru was empty midday and we pulled up. The gal was super sweet and chipper, even asking about our day. This is in comparison to the usual monotone death rattle that emanates from the speaker at my McDonald's back home. She served us up some drinks and fries, wished us a great day and we were off. None of this is spectacular. But in a world of fast food places doing the bare minimum, this gal went a step beyond. Avoid this kettleman location. I had a van filled with three young kids on my way to Sacramento. I was stuck in the drive through for 30-minutes. So not worth it. If I would have know I would not have willfully driven into the car trap. Additionally, the kids taking the order has no concept of reward points, fountain drinks were not available, and the grilled chicken sandwiches were not available.
