I had a boss burrito from here on my last road trip up the 5. The famous burger spot that shall not be named had two charter busses of school kids hop out in front of us, so we left for something faster and more quiet. Across the road we were able to park our long trailer on a quiet street, and sit inside for huge carne asada and chicken burrito. The gigantic mural of Mexico had me mesmerized as I waited to order. Surprisingly our burritos were served up quickly. They got my wife's order right, it's really complex, "please, not spicy!" The guy making our burritos even confirmed not spicy! What luck!! Chalios looks the part but it's lacks seasoning on their meats. The rice is ok Shelly vibrant color. The beans is boss though. Who ever makes those beans put that seasoning that time and effort into them and if they come out the can that's a damn shame. That they have move seasoning then the meat. Def when you open the birria tacos and you see how pretty they just sit there you'd think they hitting like they look like they would, but the cheese cilantro and onion is what you taste more so than the lackluster meat. Stop by on a friday afternoon. The pro of this place is a min walking from an electrify America charging station so we decided to give it a try, while our ev charges. It took us longer to order our food than what it took us to eat. I feel like they could have a better system for ordering and paying. The food was ok. The meat needed more seasoning. This place was not great. In fact it was gross. We ordered tacos de chicharron with absolutely no taste or flavor. I had nachos and it had no cheese and barely toppings and full of only chips. My son had asada tacos, no salt at all. The lady taking our order was annoyed. Please save your money and do not eat here. read more

The place feels family owned and operated. The space itself is pretty large. There's a counter where you order what you want. There's a pretty good selection of different meats and decent selection different items. Not a lot of frills here. They dress up the tacos for you. You just asked for everything on it. I ordered a chicharron, asada, and a carnitas taco and asked for everything on it. The salsa had a pretty good kick... I started to break a sweat, ha ha. I thought the tacos were tasty. Basically, the only non fast food chain joint in Kettlemen City. At $13.99, the burrito is not badly priced and was pretty darn good. The horchata was refreshing, the carne asada and chile verde were juicy and flavorful. There are no frills here: no salsa bar, no tomatoes or avocado in the "supreme". The restrooms were dirty, no toilet seat covers or paper towel towels. We got a bacon and egg and potato breakfast burrito, probably one of the worst I've ever had. It appears like they have a stage as well so im thinking they have some kind of music. A lot of menu items were covered with green paper assuming they were out or maybe the menu hasn't been updated. The lady at the counter was not friendly at all and seemed to be rushing to take the order. She could definitely improve her customer service skills. I ordered asada tacos and lengua tacos. I asked for plain with lime and radish on the side however she said they didn't have radish. What kind of taco place doesn't have radish ? They also serve their tacos with chopped up cabbage which is new to me. The ladies restroom was dirty. One stall didn't have toilet paper. The whole place needed a good sweeping. I had the tacos with carne asada which was too dry for me and with chile verde which was much better. Others had this fried tacos with shredded pork thing and a dipping sauce that I've never heard of but they liked it. I found this gem a while back by coincidence, I was tired of burgers and had tacos. The tacos are so good that I have not tried anything else on the menu. I have had the asada, papas, al pastor tacos but I keep coming back to the asada. The perfect seasoning and a splash of lemon and salsa. It is a regular size taco lathered with onion and cilantro. I usually order 4 and that is a meal. Place is spacious and I have never been here while it is very busy. Food comes out hot and quick. Highly recommend the tacos here! read more

Drove up to LA for the weekend and stopped to charge our car. We saw Chalio's (about a 5 min walk from the supercharger) decorated in bright green lights. In the middle of pretty much nowhere. I love Mexican food but of course I was a little skeptical of a restaurant in the middle of nowhere with a big TAQUERIA sign. We went in hungry and hopeful to have a decent meal. It is a very big spacious restaurant and of course we didn't expect many customers. I like that it was very clean too. We ordered tacos to be on the safe side but they have a huge selection! Decent prices too. The meat was pretty good and tender! The tortillas also had a great flavor. Only thing I didn't like was that they added cabbage to my taco. I mean it wasn't going to kill me, I removed what I could. I guess it was just something new to me. I prefer just having the usual cilantro and onion on them. My order came out first so my husband let them know to not add any cabbage to his order. So keep in mind, if you don't like cabbage make sure you tell them before hand to not put them on your tacos. Asada was my favorite, the chile verde had a lot of fatty pieces but flavor was good. My husband enjoyed his al pastor and cabeza tacos, but said al pastor was more flavorful. For travelers: I can guarantee you this will be better than stopping for fast food. Very casual, authentic Mexican deli style spot. No frills, just good food. I recommend the breakfast burritos or the chile verde (if available)! One tip, is that if you're usually a street taco or burrito person, this place adds repollo (cabbage), which I wasn't crazy about but it did add a fun crunch.
