My dad was using a credit card that you don't need the pin for and their machines weren't taking it. One of the staff members went to get the manager and the manager here was rude, as my dad is explaining what was going on, the manager had her headphones in and listened to my dad for 5 secs and walked away on her phone. So happy this McD was still open late Saturday night after when we arrived. We went thru the drive thru with our Jeep rental car and ordered two fish filets combos. I guess I had to get used to the pronunciation here on Maui for the things I ordered. It didn't take long for our orders to be filled and we parked the car to eat. Didn't realize it but we were really hungry and the Hawaiian Airlines dinner on the flight over was a long time ago. The fish filets were great and hit the spot. French Fries were as expected, and our drinks were filled to the brim. We didn't go in the dining area. Wow I must have gone at a bad day and bad time. We flew in late at 11:30pm and were starving so just dropped in here for bite before heading on. Mistake. Went inside. Place was kinda nasty. Not really dirty but tables had not been cleaned, there were spills on floor with the "caution" sign by them. It was just messed up for McDonalds standards (yes they have standards). Seemed like 1 person was working as it took forever for food at counter. I should have done drive through. Although the drive through was empty, it took a while to get our meals. I only ordered a large number 10 and a cheeseburger happy meal. The crewmembers at each window did not greet me or thank me. I don't mind so much that they didn't greet me. What really got me was that they put a half rotten cutie in my son's happy meal. I didn't think to check as I automatically assumed it would be fine. However when my son asked for his cutie I got it out the bag and immediately I felt how soft it was on one side. I would've said it was bruised if if was discolored and a little soft but it was deformed, discolored and very soft. I tried to see if I could salvage the other half so I gently peeled the skin away, but it had already began to rot on the inside of the other half. I don't want to put the entire blame on McDonald's, as I should've checked everything before driving away, but I've never had to before and this is a sad reality....moving forward, I need to make sure I check EVERYTHING..even the quality of the food. read more

With two cooks, one drive through, one manager, and one cleaning person the service is really bad. Two lines of cars in the drive through so I decided to go inside to order just a large iced coffee. I got in there a homeless man who is clean with clean clothes was standing and waiting and he told me to go ahead because I need to go to work I thanked him. I waited and the person with the red shirt which I would think is the manager was helping the drive-thru order taker and not acknowledging me or the homeless man. After she finish helping the drive-thru still not acknowledging us she was working on the ice cream machine and then went back to help the drive to and again on the machine back and forth for three times. Seven minutes has passed so I said, excuse me you need more employees if you're going to be working on the ice cream machine and not pay attention to people waiting to place their orders in here. All she could do was say she was sorry. I think she first seen the homeless man and did not want to help him. I told her I needed to go to work and I am not placing an order but I hope that she would help this man. And I left without even placing my order. read more

Drive-thru ordering leaves much to be desired. Could barely hear the worker taking my order in the drive-thru line I was in, yet I could clearly hear that same worker speaking to the occupants in the lane next to me. This caused my order to be incorrect, I got frustrated and proceeded to the pay window and placed my order there. This type of service is not unusual for ANY McDonald's on Maui, it's become the normal thing. Sadly that leaves me to have my order repeated at the pay window. I also have developed the habit of checking my order BEFORE I leave the pick-up window. Too many times my BLACK coffee with cream and sugar requested 'on the side' has been blended into the coffee. Located right outside Maui airport. No food on plane (no cheap food), so we waited to land in Maui and headed straight for McDonalds. Prices are higher than the mainland (as expected), but they did have one unique item....Taro Pies. I had previously tried this a few years ago in China and it was exactly as I remembered it. Yummy, purple gooey goodness. Looks weird, but taste waaay better than the Apple Pie. You have to try it!! Other than that, it is your standard McDonald's. The bathrooms were dirtier than normal, so beware of that. read more

Worst McDonalds on Maui. We've been here multiple times, and each time they can never get our order correct. This time, we were charged $6.78 for 2 SNACK sized McFlurrys when they are supposed to be 2 for $3. They gave us a Dr. Pepper instead of a Diet Coke, and then told their coworkers that we "didn't like" our order so they were redoing it. It's not that we didn't like it, we didn't order it. I've been stopping by this location a couple of times a day for the past week. Sometimes only for iced tea. It's had ok service. Typically has high school students working so I tend to give them a pass since they're at least working. But today I was very disturbed as I waited 14 minutes for my chicken sandwich and iced tea. That's not what upset me. As I waited for my order the girl working the window continued to prepare drinks for several orders. I noticed the first 2 or 3 cups she ran her fingers around the rim of cup before putting lid on. Almost like a nervous tic. That shocked me. But as she continued, it got worse. When she filled an iced tea cup, her fingers are all over the rim & fingers were actually inside the cup as the tea poured down her finger & into the cup. Yuck. Just yuck. It was al I could do to keep my mouth shut until then. That was the final straw. Finally I said nicely, "can I give you a tip? You really should keep your fingers off of & out of the cups for sanitary reasons." She just shrugged. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location. Considering the hepatitis outbreak Hawaii is currently battling, I'm shocked I just witnessed this. And I ordered iced tea today. My tea was already sitting at window when I drove up so who knows? However, the recipe must have changed or they left something out because the Saimin was so tasteless that we asked for a refund!
