First time here. It's a volunteer organization located in the same building as the Volunteer Center…read moreof Washington County. I came with my wife for lunch. Food: They have a small menu, but it includes several items that would be among my first choices for breakfast or lunch. I was pleasantly surprised to find Avocado Toast. Their version was a bit more "exotic," with both pickled red onion AND pickled fennel. That was a first for me. The addition of a balsamic drizzle provided a nice balance. I got mine with a fried egg. They only offer the egg fried hard. My preference would have been a softer egg with at least a little runny yolk, but it was still very good as served. My wife got the Quinoa Bowl with chicken and guacamole. That was an amazing combination. The guacamole isn't made fresh on-site, I happened to see the package from Costco, but it was actually very good. Service: Lots of very nice people here. My understanding is that there are a few paid staff members, but the majority of the people working are volunteers. Everyone we met was genuinely friendly and helpful. Ordering was easy. After placing your order, you get a number, and they deliver the food to your table. Atmosphere: It's a nice space. There's a smaller area where you place your order, along with some small tables. An adjacent larger room has additional seating and bigger tables. Lots of windows provide plenty of natural light, and there are areas that work well for smaller groups. My understanding is that the larger space is also used for meetings and gatherings by different community groups. It's a great facility for a community that wants to nurture neighborly goodwill and social involvement. This is definitely a place I want to support. Maybe there's a future volunteer barista position for me! :)

The first day of fall called for a coffee shop and a pastry today, so I decided to finally try a…read moreplace I've wanted to visit for a long time. The ivy climbing the side of the historic-looking building along the Milwaukee River fit the exact description I was looking for. Inside, the space is spacious and already decked out for fall. There seemed to be a mix of regulars who joked with the barista and newbies like me, but I still felt completely comfortable in this unique space. My go-to is a latte with almond milk and stevia, and the barista offered to steam the stevia with the milk. Such a small detail, but I loved it! The latte was beautifully crafted and even came with latte art. Since it was my first time, they suggested trying one of their fresh-baked daily goods. I went with the cranberry orange scone, which she said might still be warm ... and it was excellent. The sugar topping and zest in the glaze sound like they'd make it overly sweet, but it was just right. While sitting for just a short while I was extremely impressed with the customer service here, above and beyond!!! There were waves of busy and quiet at the counter throughout my visit, but overall, it was an awesome spot to slow down, enjoy a really good coffee and pastry, and take in the cozy fall atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to coming back soon.

I was already familiar with the other local coffee shop, and AM Coffee Roastery stood out as an intriguing option. Upon arrival, I was captivated by the partially ivy-covered building and the prominent cornerstone inscribed with the establishment's founding year, 1884. The interior exudes a vibrant atmosphere, adorned with lovely artwork, and the aroma of freshly roasted coffee filled the premises. I ordered a cup of coffee, complemented by a jumbo Chocolate Chunk Cookie, each made in-house. Both were exceptional, leaving me eagerly anticipating my return visit.

Excellent iced latte with almond milk!…read more The decor, space, and overall atmosphere is everything you want in a coffee shop. The map wallpaper is so cool. They have a few outdoor seating options giving it a european cafe vibe. I thought the bar area was so cool too. Lots of seating options and well spaced out. A great decor section too. I wanted to get a crewneck sweatshirt and to-go coffee mug. Really cute stuff! It's right in downtown Cedarburg. We stopped in for a coffee to go and then checked out all of the small local shops. The staff were friendly and efficient. My latte came out right away. Highly recommend!

I usually ask for it in a mug, but unfortunately they don't have mugs, so you get a paper cup. I asked for whole milk, a little lavender, and a little vanilla. After I got it and looked inside, I was seriously disappointed. It was pretty much a cup of hot milk with a tea bag floating at the top. It was hot and had reasonably good flavor (the bag was still steeping), but there wasn't much latte texture at all. I didn't even finish it. They have a nice selection of different bakery items, cakes, and cookies. I saw many people enjoying these, but I didn't get anything myself. Service: The folks taking the order were nice. They seemed to know lots of regulars who came in for beverages and food. Atmosphere: The place is super cute. It has an old-time feel to it, with a tin ceiling, wood floors, period lighting, and a cast-iron radiator. The roaster sits in the middle of the place, with a counter all around it for enjoying your drink. Other seating options are along the outside walls and near the front windows. As cute as it is, I'm not likely to stop back. It just doesn't offer a quality beverage that I would enjoy.
