Easy to find. Staff was friendly and informative, and the cashier directed me to the highway.

Been to several of the Fiddleheads in Milwaukee. I typically find it to be a very good experience…read more The locations are all designed differently, and each has qualities that make it unique among other Fiddleheads and local coffee shops. This particular location has plenty of space for different size groups. You can choose between the downstairs area, an upstairs space, or a nicely appointed outdoor patio. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful. The baristas are usually high quality, but occasionally you will get someone who is either in training or using their own techniques. Today was a good example of that challenge. My usual London Fog Tea Latte was a surprise. You can check out the pictures. Whoever made it steeped the tea in the cup and then poured the steamed milk over the top, instead of removing the steeper and then adding the milk. No worries. I went back and they were happy to fix it. The reworked one was a bit cooler than I like, but the texture was much better. The bakery here is good too. There is a nice selection, though it does not taste as fresh as if it were made on site. I always ask to have bakery items warmed up, which I think improves the taste.

My coffee stops are generally reserved for the AM but on this particular day, I happened to be here…read morearound lunch and thought I'd go for it. I was greeted promptly by the friendly staff, which I appreciated. They were extremely patient as I perused the lunch menu. I settled for the Chicken Bacon Avocado Melt. For the price, I found this to be a tremendous value, especially with the addition of chips. It hit all the notes I would expect from a Chicken Melt. One thing keeping this from being a 5 star was the cleanliness of the dining area. There were a number of dirty tables and debris on the floor. One note of caution: Parking can be tricky here. Be prepared in case you come during the morning rush.

Their bags of coffee have gone down in size and up in price unfortunately. I get it - the market, growing conditions, etc. Just odd that a bag of their coffee is more at the cafe than in the grocery stores. The staff are friendly though and the cafe gives you the perfect coffeehouse vibes. Chatter fills you as you walk in and people are catching up over their drinks. Not a fan of the small parking lot here. You're lucky to get a spot and to get out of the lot with traffic nearby. But, if you can walk, that would be ideal.

I chose the brunch sandwich which comes on a homemade rosemary biscuit and it was fantastic! My mom said her tuna salad sandwich was the BEST SHE'S EVER HAD!!! They even have jugs of water for you to take to your table which I appreciated a lot. Next time I'm in the area, I'd love to come back and try a coffee! My only negative is that our food took a very long time to come out. Although, it was definitely worth the wait!

Food: They have a large selection of breakfast pastries, including scones, cinnamon rolls, hand pies, and more. There are also some savory items, such as a rosemary biscuit. It was a tough choice, but when in doubt, I go for a scone, and they had a Maple Cinnamon one. I had it warmed up a bit, and it was delicious. These scones are not muffins in disguise, which means the texture is a bit drier and more crumbly--perfect alongside a hot beverage. For my drink, I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte. I was hoping to have it served in an actual ceramic mug, but those are only offered to customers who order drip coffee. That said, they made a very good London Fog, with a little extra lavender and plenty of foam. For my taste, it could have been a bit hotter. Service: Everyone who helped us was kind and helpful and gave us plenty of time to choose the perfect pastries. When ordering the London Fog, they explained how they make theirs and how they would add the extra lavender, which I appreciated. As mentioned above, they do not provide mugs for specialty drinks, using mugs instead to keep track of customers who have paid for bottomless drip coffee. I could bring my own mug from home, but I am not a fan of carrying around coffee shop essentials. Atmosphere: The building is nicely designed on the outside and sits on a corner with plenty of large windows that bring in natural light. It faces north, so you avoid the glaring morning sun. Upon entering, there is a short walk to the counter, where you can view all of the bakery and pastry items. A menu board above clearly displays the breakfast and lunch offerings, making it easy for first time visitors. There are numerous tables that accommodate small groups, and a fireplace with a couple of upholstered chairs offers a cozy seating option. Even after filling up with customers, the noise level was very good, and easy to have casual conversations. A nice visit and a place I would enjoy coming back to.
