We had a really great experience at the McDonald's hardware store. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by at least five people. Everybody was willing to help us even though they were busy. We explained our problem, and the parts we needed, and the nice Man took us to what we were looking for. It was such a relief to actually find what we were looking for after going to 5 different stores. This will definitely be our go to place from now on. specially having such a large inventory! They're very knowledgeable about home improvements, and we really appreciate their help. We'll be back again. Thank you. read more

Everyone in the store is so helpful you'll never walk in here and not find what you need

I have been in the building material industry for 12 years and have sent so many people (friends, family and my customers) into McDonald Hardware UNTIL TODAY. I've never been treated as rudely as I was treated today, I'm embarrassed that I still gave McDonald Hardware any of my hard earned money. The guys said his name was AKIVA? - I will never be back, no I will be back because I was helped many times before, someone can respond to me and tell me when that guy is FIRED and quite honestly any employee that sat there while he was mocking me like some playground bully, they should be fired right along with him for allowing it to happen. It's SAD that I'm actually writing this review because I am one of the biggest supporters of "support small business" but I cannot ever suggest this business after the way I was treated today. I would welcome the McDonald Hardware owner to reach out to me. One rotten apple DOES spoil the whole bunch. read more

Great store, helpful staff, they have items you won't find in big box stores. Been shopping here for over 20 years and love you can buy 1 screw instead of a whole pack if that's all you need. read more

I needed some tiny screws for an old carburetor and they had it in stock. And for 14 cents a piece it beats the prices for it online by a mile and I didn't need to wait for shipping. It's so easy to forget about brick and mortar stores and to support them with our patronage. Thanks McDonald's hardware, I'll be back soon! read more

McDonald's Hardware - Receipts - Hardware Stores Near Me - Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Best hardware store in the county! Possibly the best in South Florida. They have stuff you'll never find at the big brand stores that put all the little stores out of business. read more

They are the best when it comes to product knowledge and service. The staff is absolutely awesome. I have been going there since 2001 and they always have the hard to find products as well as so many other supplies. Thank you for your great service. read more

I have been going to this hardware store for years. I went to return an item. I set the item on the counter, unfolded the receipt and pointed to the specific item and said I would like to make a return. The girl at the counter rang up the item as if I was buying it. I politely said I'm returning the item not buying. Some guy standing next to her rudely said, "you need to tell us you're returning something." I was stunned at how rude he was. I again explained that is what I said. He started arguing with me and shouting at me. I asked why he was being so rude and then asked to speak to the manager. He said he was the manager. I then called to speak to an owner or someone higher up. The entire staff stared at me in the rude guy kept getting more aggressive. I later called to speak to a manager or someone higher up and the person on the phone hung up. I've been to the store dozens of times I did not recognize the rude guy that was working. I asked for his name and he would not give it to me. Simple solution, I will never return. It's a hardware store, nothing they sell is a specialty item. Customer Service, should be number one. I can go to Home Depot and get treated better. I do not recommend this store! You're better off to go to a big box store or go to Ace Hardware off 17th St. and Cordova they are professional and friendly. read more

Always helpful, can always buy just the amount you want -not a "pack" of twice what you need. Great hardware store! read more

Buyer beware! They charged me more than DOUBLE the price tag 2 times last week, ILLEGAL in Florida! Apparently an investigation has been opened by the state, its a $1000 fine each time they ring up a higher price than shown. And almost everything there was there BEFORE tarriffs. One one occasion a manager just started screaming profanities about Trump, i couldnt make this up. My God, screaming TDS in his own store?! Just wow! read more

Great selection. Support the local guy. The seem to have everything in the world you could ever need. Support the local guys. Great service. read more

Great staff, they typically always have whatever obscure thing I happen to need and I appreciate supporting locally-run businesses. As soon as I go in there's usually a staff member jumping up to help and in the event they aren't able to locate what I need they've generally pointed me in the right direction to an alternative solution/product. Been coming here for many years and much prefer these guys over the big box stores. I have to say... I get a kick out of the so-called conservatives on here flipping out about a private business deciding to enforce a policy (mask-wearing) of their choosing ... as they are a private business. This is what conservatism ~used~ to be about. The store owners have the freedom to enforce this rule and you have the freedom to choose not to shop there if you disagree. Win-win. read more

As a 3rd generation resident of Fort Lauderdale, you would expect the service at McDonald's to be better. The employees seem to be so unhelpful and angry even there to work very unfortunate for such a great hardware store. read more

McDonalds is a real hardware store in the most classic sense of the term specializing in both industrial and marine hardware. It's by and far the best place I've found when looking for marine hardware and recognizing many of the patrons who I know are mechanics and others engaged in marine repair and maintenance it is clearly their first choice too. I've also found plenty of polite, knowledgeable as well as helpful staff to available to assist and guide me in my selections and have always found my purchases to be at a price far more reasonable (particularly when it comes to quality stainless steel fasteners) than at other places specializing only in marine hardware and marine only related items. read more

McDonald's Hardware - Front - Hardware Stores Near Me - Fort Lauderdale, Florida

This afternoon we drove 25 miles from Miami Lakes to this hardware store in East Ft Lauderdale, because we need a part for our trailer hitch. I encouraged my husband to take the extra drive out of the way to purchase this said bolt there, because it is a small mom and pop place and now that businesses are starting to open up we would like to contribute in helping small business owners rather than big corporate one. Well, we had our masks and gloves, I had my spray sanitizer in my front pocket formed the long line to get in. When we get to the door the owner was very rude said with a "matter of fact disposition" that only one person can come in at a time!!!! Very calmly, I told my husband that, that was okay it is a normal safety precaution I did not mind waiting in the car. When he walked into the store there were tons of people inside the shop shopping. This upset him and he asked the lady owner if there was this many people in the shop, what difference did it make if my wife came in? She needed some things of her own as well. My husband said the lady was extremely rude and told him "it's her store she makes the rules if he doesn't like it it he can leave and go to Home Depot" so ladies and gents, we are now on our way 25.7 miles back to our Neighborhood Home Depot which is down the street from our home. Owner is rude. My husband is British and you know British people are very polite. We'll keep looking for other small business owners to promote and help but definitely not this place. Stay away from here. If thats how they do business when things are tough, I won't give them the business on a good day. read more

McDonald's hardware is the place to go for that strange odd part that you just have to have and you know Home Depot or Lowe's doesn't have a chance of having. You might have to pay a little more, but you will definitely walk out with exactly what you needed. The parking lot is on the west side of the building and it's a one way loop type lot. The front door is on the east side of the building. When you walk in, you'll immediately see that there's stuff jammed everywhere. From the floor to the ceiling you're going to find products crammed onto every possible surface. My recommendation is that if you aren't familiar with the store, you should ask an employee where something is at. A lot of the store is laid out intuitively but a lot of it may seem random if you're not familiar with the layout. Overall, a great hardware store that isn't a big chain and will definitely have what you're looking for. Including a large selection of Marine hardware. read more

Love the employees here!! Everyone is super friendly and very knowledgeable!! I can call them anytime and someone is always available to help me. Great job all!! read more

This small, locally-owned hardware store is amazing. They're more than a bit out of the way from my home but I keep coming back They've found their niche and fill it well. If you're looking for an odd part, doohickey or thingamajigger, they probably have it. Worst case scenario, they know what it is and how to get it for you - something your local big box hardware store can't usually say... They also offer most of what you'd expect from a neighborhood hardware store, as well as friendly, knowledge service. They're always busy, and I hope they stay that way! read more

This store is awesome. The staff are the friendliest people Ive ever met in a hardware store. They got all kinds of specialty screws and hardware you wont find at the "other" stores, so I dont even bother and come straight here. They are open 7 days a week but close somewhat early...check it out.. read more

Need something... it's probably there... Staff is friendly and very helpful..... Cash or card works for payment

Wow, this is the kind of hardware store one dreams about. They have everything and will even help install an item if necessary. It is definitely my go to hardware store and perhaps the best in Broward County. read more

Although this store has everything you need, the employees need to step up their customer service. Today, on Father's Day, I stopped in and instantly I felt that I was bothering the employees. When I asked one associate where something was, he quickly pointed to an area, when I still could not locate the area, I returned to him and got an "auggghh" and he showed me where it was. The cashier was upset that I took her away from texting on her cell phone to wait on me. Mr. McDonald would be rolling over in his grave if he saw how his neighborhood store is now being run. Management needs to oversee what is going on. read more

Great place they have everything and I AM GRATEFUL FOR THE MASK MANDATE enforced by the store. You want to spread your germs go elsewhere all these people on here freaking out are a bunch of selfish inconsiderate babies. Thank you McDonald's. read more

Hardware supply store. If your looking for tools and want to skip home depot come here. They have everything and all the staff are ready to answer your questions. They handle all industries. They social distance as they only let a certain amount of ppl on the store at a time. Cost of tools are good compared to other places. Come check them out fill up your tool box. read more

They have been helpful to me lately. I think the owner got the hint that the rudeness was getting out of control with the staff. Or maybe they were just having a good day..Who knows. Like others have complained, the mask enforcement is totally unnecessary and way out of line with the boating community (whom are 90% of their customers). I had my mask below my nose and this one guy gave me crap about it - I couldn't believe it. It's quite obvious the owner is making a political statement - good for her. Anyway, Macdonald's is still a good place for parts. Especially obscure plumbing fittings. read more

If I could give zero stars I would... the employees are rude af! I felt like an inconvenience and will never be back !! If I can find something online or in another store I will, even if I need to wait for delivery... unbelievable. Not to mention over priced.. I found a socket that this place was selling for 5 dollars cheaper at a big store. #neveragain read more

Marqus is spot on again. I'm going to simply read his reviews and go to the locus. They have everything at this wee store; very English I must say not American at all. It puts Home D to shame. I went looking for a castor of an odd size and have been doing so for weeks. Not even the best hardware stores have what I want. I thought I would be re Quoted to go to Shell in the Grove, but they had it here plus an amazing array of other items. read more

Been going there for years. Have my vaccination and they still require a mask. Called and the owner lady said it's her store and she doesn't want my money. Stay away from the liberal he'll holes. Spend your money with people that have common sense, and follow science not cnn. read more

I've been here more than 100 times maybe!? Sales crew always help you. All you can buy hardware, a little expensive though.

Bad customers services, her staff is very rude especially the owners daughter, there is not mask mandates but the owner is enforcing masks For this reason I will never shop at her store again read more

McDonald's is a local little hardware store that has just about everything you could need. The staff is extremely friendly. About the best there is when it comes to full-service hardware stores in south Fort Lauderdale. Old-fashioned in the best sense of the word, meaning they have plenty of people who will help you, long, narrow aisles full of things you didn't even know you needed, and a host of services: they'll cut screening and glass (single-pane) to measure, cut keys, cut and thread pipe, mix paint, and they sell all sorts of conduit, rope, cable and hoses. They advertise as specializing in industrial and marine hardware, the several times I've been there it looks like most of the mechanics in the boating industry in Fort Lauderdale head there first to find what they need. Open 7 days a week: M - F 7:30am - 5:30pm Saturday 8:00am - 5:00pm Sunday 9:00am - 4:00pm read more

The. Workers are so nasty. They think who the are. Always in a rush and snippy. Even when the store is not busy. Give me a break! You're 35 years old making a life's bucks over minimum wage and your going to treat customers like this. I'm done and been hearing it from more and more peeps. Sad, used to be my go to place. Stay away. read more

Best hardware store in South Florida. They have anything and everything you need and easily the greatest hardware selection you'll find anywhere. That being said, know what you want, get it, and go. And for the love of god, DO NOT try and pay with a card at the counter that's cash only (with a inconveniently placed sign you have to hunt for to know not to do so). Quality store with quality goods to match the quality s#!t attitude the employees have. read more

This is a great little neighborhood hardware store! So much STUFF packed into these walls!! Employees are very helpful. So much better than HD. **BEST THING: They have a sign on the front door that says "We are dog friendly. Please do not leave your dog in the car." I love that. read more

I don't quite know how they can pack so much into such a small store...but I have visited them no less than 20 times and have always found what I needed. The staff is friendly, and their hardware selection blows my mind! The only quirky thing is the separation from the cash only line from the credit card only section. I see confused customers all the time...BUT they handle it well and are so quick that it's not a bother. read more

Awesome staff! I always go in describing a thinga-ma-jig or a watcha-ma-call-it and they direct me to where I can find it! Plumbing electrical, you name it! If you're working on a boat and need screws of any size or type, they always had what I needed!! read more

I've been using McDonalds hardware as an alternative to Home Depot for over a decade now. Prices are very reasonable and they have almost everything I commonly need around the house and on the boat. Someone is always close by to point you toward whatever you're looking for. Best little hardware store I've ever been in! read more
