I had 2 exterior doors & a laundry room door done a few years ago and more recently just replaced 3 interior doors and 2 closet doors. I couldn't be happier! They have an impressive warehouse and they go above and beyond with helping pick out doors, handles, stain or paint to match the decor/style of my home. The absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with. If I could leave no stars I would. I asked for assistance searching for a product. The product was not there and told I needed to special order it. When I asked to call and order it the sales person told me that he cannot call because the company that we are ordering from closes at 4:30 and they do not pick up the phone. I picked up the phone and called the company myself which was not only open but because where they are located they are still open for another two hours! To make things worse is when I went to speak to the manager/owner of the company to just inform him of his customer service instead of him resolving the issue or acting at least a little empathetic he told me he just has a shitty company and to take my business somewhere else. read more

Rock stars!! Hurricane Irma is on the way, and this crew nailed it! Haha. They had complete order in their store. They inform people waiting on line the count of plywood they had left, and when they had a shipment coming In. They showed great professionalism. A guard stood at the door letting customers in one by one until they were serviced. The crew loaded everyone's car with plywood and made sure it was reinforced. One of the employees came out and gave the patrons water as we waited in line. Some patrons tried act uncivilized, and the crew put them in their place. They had a police officer at the compound, and everything was running real smooth. That is tough when you have people in a panic for material. Great job guys! Keep it up! read more

The absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with. First I called to ask if they had a specific wood door mounding in stock. I got passed around on hold 3 times and nobody could seem to help me. So I drove to the store and stood in line for 10 mins before someone asked if I was being helped. I explained what I needed. They did not have it but they had something similar. I asked if the could cut the wood. I needed 8 pieces of 8 1/2 inch long. They said no problem. They asked me how long the pieces were. I said I don't know I just need them at 8 1/2. I asked why does it matter on the pricing what size they are? Cause let's grab smaller if it does. The guy says to me what do you work here or something. I almost punched him in the mouth for that. That was extremely rude. They couldn't find the code to know how much to charge me and asked again how long are the pieces. So again I said. Why does it matter cause let's get smaller so it's cheaper. To where the guy then rudely walks away and passed me to another lady. Same conversation happened. I was asked 5 times if it was my first time there. I got asked if I worked there. Nobody wanted to answer my questions. Nobody wanted to help me. No body wanted to do there job. I just needed some wood and not pay for extra pieces I don't need. I was walked away from 3 times mid conversation. What they don't know is I'm a contractor and have A lot of work. I was recommended to them by another contractor friend. Based off my experience I will never shop with them. They will not get one penny from me and they are missing out on 10's of thousands of dollars now. Extremely rude none helpful people. I used to buy alot from Frank Vidal - BUT after getting beat up by one of his tenants and asking for the video. Frank told me he wouldn't help nor would he give the video to me. He told me that his tenant spent too much money with him and he would not get involved. BTW immediately I went inside and spoke to Maria (his mother and owner) and explained what happened. She asked why I was there and I told her to order doors and trim for a home I was renovating. All she cared about was getting the order. Her prices were very high and she kept taking phone calls while I sat there bruised. She didn't care about me or the bruises that I got from HER tenant - Chris Demarco of Demarco Landscaping. I then later got a phone call from Frank Vidal Jr. and all he could do is yell and swear at me for having a lawyer send him a letter to put his insurance company on record. NOT to see if I was ok or he was sorry for what happened - BUT to rudely insult and yell at me like I was some sort of piece of s%#@*. We he lost that sale and he's going to lose another sale as I'm building another high end home in Tavernier on the Ocean - Good Job - Frank! I will continue to tell my story to everyone to be careful of "Sheridan Lumber" that they are not goof people. read more

I had previously used Sheridan on all the baseboards in my house (hundreds of linear feet) and it was NOT something Home Depot could have handled for me. I had sent my contractor to pick up items and it had gone smoothly and without a hitch. They also allowed me to pay for my order over the phone without going in personally. Recently, I had a terribly difficult experience, and it took 4 months to get in 4 sets of custom doors for closets. I have always been treated courteously by the staff and the operator, but yes, it's difficult to get calls returned. All I can say is that you have to keep trying - they are just slammed and you can email them, too, if you have an inquiry. During this lengthy process (caused by the suppliers not providing the doors and delaying) I could have gone elsewhere, yes, but the doors would have cost much more. Eventually, I brought the problem to the attention of the general manager. He promptly called me, apologized profusely, explained how much harder things have become in the industry (which I well know from other issues with other companies) and promised to have my doors delivered within 48 hours no matter what. That's exactly what happened. Result: great products, no extra charge for the home delivery (and I can only imagine how much they had to pay to get the doors in) and the best customer service experience I can ever remember. It is almost impossible to find a company that cares more about making a customer happy than they do their bottom line. I purchased two doors from Sheridan Lumber in September of 2012, and used the installer they recommended. In November, the Plastpro fiberglass Hurricane door with glass and mini blinds failed, and was only 6 years old, with a 25 year warranty. I had the warranty info from Plastpro doors, and they told me I must work through Sheridan Lumber to get it replaced or a credit, and that it was still under warranty. I contacted the owner, Frank Vidal, in mid-November, 2018, with many pictures of the failed door, to ask for help. After many phone calls to him and Jackie, he finally made time, a month later, to come to our home and saw the failed door on Dec. 13, at 8:00 am. He agreed that the door failed and he would help us get a replacement for only the door panel that failed, minus the glass/blinds/frame, or a credit towards a replacement door, and would call me the next day with the amount. I thanked him and told him I wanted the credit. I left messages and talked to Jackie, but no response from Frank about the dollar amount of the credit and getting the door replace. I waited an additional 45 days for Frank to follow through on his promise, after I waited a month for him to come look at it. I called multiple times over the 45 day period, asking for the amount of the credit. On January 29th, after 2.5 months of asking for the owner's help, he did call me back again, and then AGAIN said, "I will look into it and get back to you." I asked him to please get back to me with a dollar amount of the credit within 24 hours, and told him I was disappointed that this had dragged on for 2.5 months. Our door is falling apart. The credit would be arranged through him, but not come out of his pocket, Plastpro would issue the credit. We would buy a new door. Because I asked him to give me an answer after 2.5 months, he called back about an hour later to tell me that he email a copy of the warranty and that I was on my own. I could call the manufacture directly and that he did not want to do business with me. Good businesses do not drop customers when the product they sold fails. They assist the customer, in a timely fashion, to solve the problem. Plastpro's policy is that the customer must go through the dealer they used to purchase the door, and that was Sheridan Lumber. The owner Frank was not honest with us and wasted 2.5 months of our time promising to help us, and then he sent me a copy of the warranty? Good men do not make empty promises and then play with customers for 2.5 months. I think Sheridan Lumber is very shady. Others need to be warned! I wish I never used Sheridan Lumber. On January 30th I contacted another local store. I sent them all the info on our door and Frank's bad customer service and his email. They got Plastpro to issue a credit toward a new door in only 24 hours! read more

I was doing some repair and remodeling work for my house, and was recommended this place by someone as an excellent place to get quality wood. The recommendation was absolutely right, and not only that, but a wide variety of specialized hardware, for all sorts of purposes. Modern architectural style handles, knobs, decorative molding, specialized locks for sliding doors - you name it, they've probably got something that fits your needs. If it's something special, I've just gone ahead and skipped Home Depot or Lowe's, to go straight to them. And you know what? I've actually gotten some things cheaper than what was at Home Depot (probably not always the case, but it has happened). Unlike the big stores, they know a lot about what they sell, and care about it too. Home Depot and Lowe's just don't sell some of the stuff you'll find here. I also compared prices of some special hardware to Build.com and some other online places, and found them to be about the same. The difference to me was that I could walk in and physically see something before ordering it. That being said, with the exception of wood, a lot of the nice stuff they have has to be special ordered, as they don't keep a lot of it in stock (even though the showroom is pretty impressive). Their hours of course are more limited too. If you care enough about the project and just can't find what you're looking for anywhere, give these guys a try, or at the very least a visit. It is hard for me to imagine having a bad experience here, I love this place! It has the feel of a family run business to me because everyone takes pride in their job. If you ever buy anything that requires some mill work, the men in the mill will work on your piece as if it is something for a family member, they go the extra mile for sure. I've interacted with several of the personnel, but I must admit Maria is my favorite. She is always juggling a few things, so I may have to wait a couple of minutes for her, but I get her undivided attention once she is available. The prices are competitive with the big box stores. If you are a Lowes or Home Depot regular, give Sheridan Lumber a chance, it is unlikely you will not return to Sheridan once you try it. read more

Fixing up an old house is never easy. None of my doors are standard size and Homedepot looked at me like I had three heads. The folks at Sheridan Lumber were great and made me 3 custom louver doors. I was having a hard time finding the door trim to match what I have throughout my house. None of the regular hardware stores had it. As soon as I showed my piece of casing to the lady behind the counter at Sheridan Lumber she knew exactly which one it was and was able to take me to the right line and and place my order. After I paid I went through a door that lead to the outside where they cut the cut the wood. A cool dude there cut the casing so I could fit it in my car and even wrapped it with cellophane and everything. Everyone there was super nice and the price was good too. I paid about $30 for 25 feet of some hard to find trim. I recommend these guys, they certainly helped me find exactly what I needed. read more

Have been going here for years. Henry is the person I am dealing with now, but the whole staff is very, very helpful. I take home samples, decide what I want, and then return the sample pieces....recycle ! I have dealt with Sheridan Lumber for a few years, and I think It's time to give some feedback- hopefully whoever owns this place has an internet connection. Problem Areas: 1) Staff does not return phone calls. At all. Ever. 2) If your transaction has the least amount of complexity (like for example paying for something and having your carpenter pick it up), they will screw it up. They will not find the parts, not be able to find the paperwork, and not be able to help you complete the transaction. They clearly stay in business just because they are the only place in town left with a barely adequate inventory, so as with any monopoly with no accountability, you get high prices, and no customer service. I find out one of their employees, Maria, is especially sadistically unhelpful, and a master at how something cannot be done. If you need to do business with them, arm yourself with patience, as you would with Comcast, Att or Verizon, and budget time and money to the transaction. They are masters of entropy. This is too bad, because their inventory really makes them an asset for all the trades that work in the area. Boy, do they shove it in your face, though. read more

I finally asked a woman where I needed to go and she said to the back. I went there asking for 1/2 baseboard and the guy acted like I just landed here. Rude as hell I asked my contractor about it and he said he would go there tomorrow and pick it up and have it cut. Oh hell no ! You gotta wait a week to have three pieces of plywood cut , save your self some aggravation go to Lowes or even Home Depot where someone will help you or even just act like they would like to help you. read more

We recently purchased a front door and sidelight from Sheridan Lumber and had, by far, the worst experience. Our sales rep was not helpful and disappeared on us and no one bothered to communicate any delays to us. And boy did we deal with delays. We ordered our door in November 2016 yet it was not delivered to our home until February 2017! And to top it off, they delivered the wrong sidelight. As if the delay were not bad enough, the lack of communication was ridiculous! I can excuse a delay that is a result of something outside of your control (life happens), but have the courtesy and business sense to keep your customer informed. We were left completely in the dark. As if not bad enough, we were told they were unable to compensate us for our inconvenience. Clearly they do not prioritize customer service. these guys are terrible. went to buy some cedar trim boards. 1x8 $1.50 per linear ft. 1x10 $3.50 per linear ft. Went to 84 lumber, 1x10 $1.60 per linear ft.
