I am doing research on gas grills and I stopped at ACE to find out about the options and prices. I was looking around and since I had some questions, I asked the cashier to get me some help. Soon enough, he got on the PA and within a minute, I had two associates there to help me. I asked a few questions and one of the guys was really straightforward and clear about the answers. He was really good about giving me the information I needed....that is one thing about Ace. They do have knowledgeable and friendly people that can assist with any questions. Overpriced merchandise! Only go there if you are in a time sensitive emergency. You can easily go to nearby Home Depot or shop online at Amazon to save money. Today we went to Ace to exchange our SodaStream CO2 canisters. We brought two in for exchange and the cost was over $68 (before tax) They charge $34 (before tax) for one!!! We decided to go to Bed Bath & Beyond on Federal Highway where it cost $27.08 (before tax) for the Two Canisters! That's less than one at Ace! We were told by SodaStream that Target and WalMart are also fairly priced. No thank you Ace Hardware! We will shop elsewhere! read more

This has to be the most poorly located Ace hardware in the country. Fortunately there is Yelp because I would have easily overlooked the store despite frequenting other stores in this mall. Tucked in the corner, Ace has friendly, very helpful and, most importantly, knowledgeable staff. I shopped here for two different projects and both times I got what I needed because they listened and understood. Especially with paint I was behind the times and didn't know something fundamental about the climate here. It seems they really know what they are doing. Plenty of parking including a few spots right in front. The store feels small and the amount of merchandise may overwhelm at first like it did for me. Hidden gem! read more

I continue to love this ACE hardware. I mean, what's not to like? They stock just about everything you can think of, have staff that actually knows hardware and how to fix things, and are always pleasant and helpful. Today I took my Dyson in cuz it needed a new battery. I had the new battery but for the life of me couldn't get the screws out to change the battery. Not only did they find me the right tool to make it happen, they actually took the time to make the change out for me. Now that's service! And these days, it's usually hard to find. read more

Ugh! The frustration I feel just remembering my shopping experience at Ace Hardware. I recently moved and have been having to do a lot of minor fixes to get my place to look the way I want it to. Amongst those fixes was getting replacement sliding door locks. I must have looked at and called at least three or four places before going to this store. And I only went because they had what I needed and even then it was only one. I needed two! Consequently the second one got ordered and didn't arrive until nearly a week later. Mind you, I got told I would be called. No one called. I had to call. And when I called, one time I got put on hold for nearly half an hour. I ended up having to go in person to get things resolved. Then upon entering the store, it seems that the employees just don't want to be there. No smiles, no can I help you?, nothing. Fortunately I eventually got what I needed, but it took forever and a day to find an employee who actually cared enough to help me. read more

Rude employee! I called and talked to a manager about some Milwaukee M18 batteries. He was helpful. I told him I would come in after work and get them. When I arrived, talked to a store associate, (didn't catch his name, but I did catch a whiff of his TERRIBLE B.O. ). I told him about the conversation I had with his manager, he got irate and started yelling " you didn't call here! Who here supposedly talked to this guy?" Wow, take a pill man! He kept saying I didn't call - then I showed him my call history... is this your number...? He said I think so, but you didn't call here... then just walked away! I've had a strange experience both times I've visited the location with a different rude male employee each time. The first time, we were next in line at the cashier check out, and the employee at the register simply walked away and left without comment or replacement. The second time, I was returning an item that was the wrong size. One might think this is a common occurrence, but today's rude employee commented "no one will buy this," and ""why didn't you ask someone before buying." It was a packaged $15 item. Ace TRULY is the place with the helpful hardware man!! I ordered two shed storage units and was super happy to see they were in stock and free delivery within a few days, which put my delivery on Saturday. Perfect! Just in time for the Holiday. I get a phone call the day before my delivery is due and the associate starts to tell me that they don't have a driver on Saturday and they're all booked on Sunday. I'm prepping myself for the "so we'll deliver it sometime next week" story but imagine my surprise where instead they say, "can we deliver it TODAY instead?!" OMG!!! I am LUCKY if I get a call confirming a delivery or before they show up from one of the other big home stores. I don't live at many of the properties I service so I need to be present for deliveries and that call is really needed. This time I get a call to deliver EARLY! If you're looking for Big Green Eggs or egg add-ons, grills in general, Yeti or even OXO, this Ace has it. They have a weird assortment of pretty much everything. We've gotten Ook picture hanging hooks, stainless steel hardware for mounting a dock ladder, broom and other miscellaneous items here. If you're willing to pay a little more for convenience and not have to deal with the one-guy-who-won't-move-out-of-the-way-in-front-of-the-one-thing-you-need-at-Home-Depot, then this is a pretty good one stop shop, especially with Publix and TJ Maxx and Total Wine next door. I'm one of those people who prefer to fix or repair things myself, and I usually can, but not without some good advice or being able to located the materials necessary to do it. Also, since I only go to a hardware store after something has gone terribly wrong, it's nice to find a friendly understanding face. I try to avoid the big box stores whenever possible - so I went to Ace even though I've never really had a good experience there. Locally owned - you keep trying right? No. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the cashiers and they ask what you are looking for -they tell you which aisle, and ask if you will need help and page someone to assist you, telling them what aisle you will be in. The girls should save their breath. You wait. You wait some more. You see store workers walking around away from you. So you grab something head out and find out when you get home, the product is old and completely useless. Do you go back for 7.99? No more chances - today was the last straw. read more

Hard to find items such as bleach, Lysol spray, paper towel, gel hand sanitizer, toilet paper were available at your store more often, than any other place I shop at. Ace really came through in the clutch for me on patio furniture and a grill. Great price, cheap delivery, excellent customer service. Are you a Vet from a Middle East campaign? You'll be happy to know that Ace will haggle with you on price for certain items. Give them the chance to meet your expectations here. They pretty much gave me a table for free with the purchase of four chairs. I needed an electric grill because I have an enclosed patio. The Weber Q series is the only one I've found worth buying, and not too many people have it. Check. No discount here, but the grill is a heavy hitter. Expect personal treatment here as if your in a family-owned hardware store. It's nice and small. You'll feel right at home. read more

I can't speak for all Ace hardware locations, but I can definitely say that this location is the absolute worst !!! Their customer service is absolutely horrendous. I tried to get some paint to match, and it didn't come out similar. I very politely asked if they could add more white to lighten it a bit, and an older man proceeded to yell at me and tell me it's not possible and that I shouldn't be making such requests. It was so bad that even other staff members were turning around to look at him! I didn't even ask for a refund, just for color tweaking !! Then, another time, I bought a volt meter which did not work, and they did not allow me to return it because it was open. How could I know it's non functional unless I try it ??! This is exactly why I will keep shopping at Home Depot and Lowe's and never shop here again. read more

Went into the store looking for a needle in a haystack. Specifically a RCA into an HDMI. This store clerk named Bill searched everywhere, in the computer, top shelves, bottom shelves, etc... We didn't find it but he did go the extra mile and guide me in the direction of where to go. Awesome customer service. read more

I went into Ace Hardware at Harbor Shops off 17th Ave and Cordova Ave Fort Lauderdale to purchase a couple of tools. I asked the clerk in the aisle where the restroom was he said they're not open. I walked to the cashier and asked where the restrooms were - not open to customers. I told her I'll never be back at another Ace Hardware store. It's October 1st and no customer restrooms! I like to support small privately owned businesses and franchises but no more Ace. No restroom - no purchase from me! I'll shop at Home Depot and Lowe's! read more

Happy Holidays everyone!!! What an adventure and experienced we had!!! To finish our xmas deco, we have to a certain lights. So online showing Ace hardware is on sale for $5.59 instead of $7.79. Yelp took us took us to this location "available for pick up at sale price".... so we called to have the lights on hold. Well from the moment we walked in the store, every employee were super sweet, all really helpful and attentive.... when we went to ring our purchases, all the mark downs or sale items from the aisles were not up to dated, so imagine standing at the register and had a little agrument about each item then having to call the guy go back and check to "get approved" from the store owner.... Now the lights that we had it on hold. Im on the Yelp app showing at the location price is at $5.59. Store owner said NO! This is our price and every store is separately owned ... I said "Sir im in ur store location and this is what it show on my phone...". No thats our price!!! "Well who can I call? Aren't you a Chain? ". "Yes! If u called, you'll be talking to me!! And thats our price!!!" He said We felt so BULLIED!!! We had just drove 45 min to get to this location... I calmly said NP... give me few mins, I went online and search for Ace Complaints #. While on the phone, my husband flagged me that now price is now sales price. I calmly walked back to the register and paid for my goods then gave him little piece of my mind. 1- great store with extra friendly staff. 2- his computer need to be updated. 3- is the Holidays season, everyone were merry and happy and we should never had to experience his bullying and putting the girl at the register in a bad situations....the OWNER must be a TYRANT and everyone is afraid of him!!! I stopped at this Ace to get a key cut. One step in the door and I received a very friendly greeting from one of the cashiers. The person who cut my key was friendly and proficient. My first impression of this place was outstanding. The variety of non-hardware merchandise was impressive. Since I was running late (and my wife was waiting patiently in the car) I had to scurry on, but plan to return and spend some time browsing. I'm a bit of a Hardware Store Nerd, I admit. I love to wander around looking at things, picking up odd items that I'm reminded I need. Okay, "need" is a strong word. But who doesn't NEED a bright red silicone spatula? Ace has differentiated itself by providing really proactive, cheerful, educated customer service, and this location is no exception. You're greeted at the entrance by at least one staff member, and assisted as much or as little as you like. They deserve a one star for both lack of inventory and customer service. I go into Ace this afternoon looking for a specific copper pipe strap, every time I come here they never have anything in inventory or just do not carry it in the plumbing department. I asked the cashier about this specific product and her answer is oh you should be here early in the morning you do realize we're open seven days a week I don't care how long you're open for I am telling you every time I come here no matter what our I come you never have The items in stock. This is a very good store and just about all of the staff is very helpful and courteous except for the extremely rude big black lady at the cash register. She is very rude and every time I went to this store she treated me very badly. I would not be writing this if it was the first time as everybody has bad a day. I am not sure why management keeps her around as it is not doing this wonderful store any good to have her work in public.
