This McDonalds was average. Nothing that made it amazing and nothing that made it overly terrible. The only red flag is the presence of flys. And the ice machine on one of the drink dispensers failed to produce ice but the other ice maker succeeded in providing ice. The food was enjoyed by all. Chicken McNuggets were very tasty and NOT dry or tasteless which is something the McDonald's near me can not seem to achieve. The Order & Pay machines made the ordering process hassle free for the most part. Welcome to the worlds slowest McDonald's. Nice that Frederick can be known as a destination for the slowest McDonalds on earth. Plan on a solid 10-15 minutes for a simple order like fries and a coke. Plan for more time if you want anything more. The lobby/seating isn't clean inside. The employees seems over worked and under appreciated cause they are usually pretty grumpy. You better not show up to the headset and start yelling "HELLO?", can't you see I'm taking care of another customer at the Pay Window, have you considered that. It is irritating having to yell in your ear "HELLO?", I will get to you in a minute just, please show some patience. You don't work here so you do not understand how stressful it can be. If you do not hear anyone speaking on the headset, we're busy doing something. So don't pull up at the window and place your order there, UNLESS YOU HAVE SOME DISABILITY (DEAF OR BLIND), because we will send you back to the headset to place your order there. It is plain and simple the headset says "ORDER HERE," the first window says "PAY HERE," and the second window says "PICK UP HERE." It is plain English that our foreign language speaking friends understand that, at least most of the time. Also, don't tell someone at the "PICK UP" that you want to add something because they will be instructed to send you to the headset; WHEN PEOPLE DO THIS, IT HOLDS UP THE LINE. When in the drive-thru and you want sauce(S), Ketchup, Mayo, Ranch, BBQ, Sweet N' Sour, etc., order them at the headset so we can move way faster and we just put them in your bag and tell us the exact amount you want. Sauces are free for nuggets and tenders. They usually are 10¢ each, it is not enforced but if it ever does become enforced, don't be surprised. Yes, the drive-thru is slow. If you buy one item and you want it to come out fast; just come inside it will be way quicker for you. If I could give 0 stars I would. A MANAGER was beyond rude, speaking rudely over the microphone, could hardly understand his accent so I sat there patiently. I was verifying my order and he said 2 Coke's so I didn't look at the screen (my fault). However he then handed two shakes and I said there was supposed to be two cokes (how you mix that up I'm not sure). I said I'm sorry as well and he literally, kid you not, said "are you kidding me". I serve in a restaurant, I know respect from not, and that certainly was just plain rude. I feel the enjoyment and fun of being at any McDonald's has certainly gone away. It seems as though something always goes wrong at this location. It's worth noting that the workers always have an attitude and are never polite. And just today, I was in the middle of placing an order (I had just ordered a combo and was ready to order another) when the lady cut me off and said to pull over to the pay window. I stayed where I was because I knew she didn't understand I wasn't done ordering. When she came back after two orders and an amount of silence, I explained what happened and she quickly took the second part of my order before ushering me off. On other accounts, despite the fact that they open at 5 and I tried to order food from them at 6, the supervisor said she was the only one there and couldn't serve me because she was short handed. Lastly, my order is always either missing something or just wrong in general. Don't go to this location; it's a real piece of work. read more

Based on two separate visits, I recommend avoiding this location and heading a mile up to the road if you want McDonalds. On New Years Day, I had to wait 50 minutes for a curbside order. I checked on its status after 20 minutes and was told my order would be ready after a few more cars had been taken care of in the drive-through. 20 minutes later, I had to leave curbside and get in the drive-through to place my order again with the manager. After 10 or so minutes in the drive-through, I was given my order - only to find that it was the original food time-stamped 50 minutes earlier that was not brought out to my car. Oh boy. The food wasn't warm, the french fry containers were half-filled and items were missing from the order. If only I could go lower for the review I would. I know this is McDonald's I don't expect fantastic. But you do expect decent service and quick turn around. This location is close to my work and every time I've went there has been some issue. Today it took twenty mins from order taken to receive my food. Three people in front of me their orders were messed up. Mine was fine but three out of four is just ridiculous. Other times it has been similar issues(takes way too long and/or orders messed up). Management here is a joke. They are messing around while most of the staff in the back just looking confused. No one is expediting so it gets backed up fast. Went to this McDonalds today and asked for a large cup of water, any other McDonald's I have been to, any state, everywhere you can think of I have only been charged 10 cents. I come to this specific McDonald's and ask for a large cup of water, the lady tries to charge me for a $1.00 and I politely told her being that I work at McDonald's before, and that water is only .10 cents and I directed her on how to do it. She was talking over me while I was trying to tell her how to get there and she kept cutting me off. Than another girl walks over and says oh we don't do that and I was trying to explain the same thing to her. She also was cutting me off and I just took the whole item off. I had the worst experience ever at this location. I would just advise the people of Frederick to not go to this place. The manager was stressed out and could not do his job. He literally told me to "get the F*** out of here" he was upset with me because after five minutes of waiting at the first window I pulled up to the second window. I said no I want coke. She then said something in Spanish to another worker. When she handed me the cup again she said something in Spanish and the lid came off and coke went all over me and my car. Of course it's a McDonald's, so one must go by McDonald's standards when reviewing it. Having said that, this is one of the better McDonald's, at least in this city/region. Like any McDonald's, there's always the risk of receiving an order with mistakes, but it's less common at this particular location, and when they do make mistakes, they're quick to fix them. Great customer service here. This store is on Frederick's Golden Mile, and as the Mile fights to revitalize itself, this place is leading the charge. Within the last two years (as of this writing), the owners of this McDonald's leveled their original building and rebuilt from the ground up, completely modernizing everything, including a double-lane drive-thru. As I mentioned in the beginning of this review, you can't really go by "normal" standards here. You do need to go by McDonald's standards, and by that yardstick, this is easily one of the better ones. read more
