Early in my pregnancy when food as a general concept was not appetizing at all, McDonald's smoothies were one of the few things that I could eat that felt satisfying. So in the span of a few weeks I gave McDonald's more of my money than I've done in years! This location always seems to be packed, both inside and out (or perhaps especially in the morning, since I'd stop by before work). But they move fairly quickly. Even more so if you have a code because you ordered online. The curbside pickup is on the east side of the building, and the parking spaces they have when they tell people in the drive-through to pull over and wait are on the west side of the building, which I've messed up a time or two and wondered if there was a problem with my order because I'd parked in the wrong place, so keep that in mind. read more

This Micky D is a hot mess! It is hit or miss in terms of service. It is either bad, very bad or a hair pulling experience. The last time I went through here, I had to repeat my order 4, count em, 4 times before the person got it. Or so I thought. I never leave bad reviews anywhere, but this is a bit frustrating. Here's what I thought I ordered (in app picture): the medium hot n spicy McChicken MEAL with Fanta frozen; and a hamburger happy meal with extra fries instead of apple slides, and apple juice for the drink. Then I could use a coupon of "buy a combo meal get a happy meal for free". First off, the guy don't understand what is the Fanta frozen. I repeated twice, and he kept asking which one?? Then, when I tried to use the code, he said I couldn't because I didn't order a combo meal. I was confused, but still, just paid whatever he said. He didn't give me receipt till I asked for it (which took them quite a while to print, as if I was asking for something very extra). Here's what the receipt (picture) said: I ordered a happy meal with the frozen; a medium fries, a McChicken, and an apple juice separately. This McDonald's location is probably one of the better looking places that I've seen. It's completely up-to-date from the decor, self-service kiosks anf menu screens. I've been to this location a few times and it's always been fairly clean. I don't think I've ever seen this location not busy and having limited seating. The lines can get pretty long but I don't think I've ever waited too long for my food. Plus the ice cream machine has always worked when I've visited! This location gets a bad rap because it's the hangout spot for the local teenagers and homeless population. There's always a lot of activity either inside or outside the restaurant. I've seen a lot of police activity whenever I'm walking past, it's typically just to tell the people hanging outside to keep it moving. read more

This location is my go to when I feel like having fries. Lately this location has not only had the worst fries but the food im general has been disgusting. One of the reasons I personally think is the constant turnover in employees. Every time I go I see new employees and I completely understand, but better training would help tremendously. Please teach the employees how to put salt on the fries, and fix your ice cream machine that is always broke now. Two words: SO CUTE. When I heard about this cute little spot opening up down the street, I knew I HAD to check it out. Their menu is really cute - classic American Fare. Came in to get a quick bite before heading home. I also had to use the restroom prior to ordering. You MUST get a token to be able to use the restroom. Apparently "new rule" that's being enforced by their "Brut Squad". When I asked one of the employees, who seems to be the manager, he barked that I have to buy something. I in turn said. I have to use the restroom and I was going to order afterwards. I was not going to wait in a line 10 people deep to get a token as if I was paying a fare. I started to walk out and he relented and gave me the token. The restroom was atrocious. Had an oder of stale piss. The toilet had marks and leftover residue from the previous user. And knats! They were all over the restroom! I come out and have a seat near the front counter so that I can decide what to get and waiting for a response from a friend of what he wanted. The Brut Squad then comes over to me with a glare and asks if I planned on ordering anything, meanwhile I am clearly on the app doing so. I asked him to please let me be as I have placed the order and patiently waiting for them to make it. I get my order. Checked to make sure I have everything and asked the same barking manager for napkins. He asked me "WHAT?!?" and I politely repeated the request. He throws them on the counter and walks away. At this point I was so shocked with the treatment I was getting and after observation of how they handled everything, I said that customer service doesn't have to consume your entire life, but to always remember that it doesn't cost anything, not even a token, to be courteous to a person. He rolled his eyes and muttered something inaudible and went to the next order. I would have given them at the very least, 1 star for the food, but this location doesn't even deserve that, because of the attitude and rushing manner that everyone exhibited. If being talked down to and barked at and nasty attitudes is your thing, then by all means, place your order. If not, I suggest that you stay far away from McDonald's on Wilson! Well waddya know. I did not plan for my review number 200 to be for McDonald's in Uptown, but I guess it was ment to be. One thing I can say for sure, the McDonald's on Sheridan and Wilson is entertaining as hell. You are almost guaranteed to see somebody urinating right outside, watch a fistfight between senior citizens, see an argument between prostitutes and much more. I don't wanna spoil it for you guys, it's something you just have to see. The place was recently renovated and looks nice. Be prepared to wait because there is always a line. Service is a hit or miss. If you get scared easily by bunch of homeless people hitting you up for money I advise you to stay away. Every time I order from here they mess it up, today I ordered a Big Mac with a medium drink and fries, as usual this was too complicated for the people who work there. I received a large fries, a plain quarter pounder (basically three slices of bread with meat) and a small drink. They still charged me full price of corse. For this McDonald's having low reviews, it sure is crowded a lot. As for food and service most McDonald's aren't perfect from what i see. Today it looked like there was a long line, that almost went out the door. Not sure if it was a party inside, or just a super long line, because the parking lot didnt have many cars on it. The main thing i see about this one is the sketchy area, which seems to have many people up to no good in it, or just lurking around. I've attended the Uptown Baptist Church, which sits across the street, and also Sonic, which is next door to this McDonald's, and i always get that urge to watch my back or lock my doors whether I'm on foot or in my car. The food shouldn't be a concern, because we all know that most McDonald's restaurants are hit or miss, as far as good service and food. What should be the concern is the sector that it sits in. So we thought McDonald's would be a quick stop. We were wrong! About 15 we waited for our food as 15 employees were working the counter and food. We watched as they called all the numbers ahead of us. That should never have happened! Get your shit together! Also I agree with the other reviews about the amount of bums that were inside. I like this particular location because it does have the self-order kiosks which make it super easy to get in and get out. However, this McDonald's is always filled with sketchy individuals, which can get annoying when they constantly ask for money. I won't come here at certain times of day, because I feel unsafe. Yes, I am reviewing a McDonalds and no, I'm sure whoever reads this is not surprised I'm giving it one star. Sure, the food at McDonalds is greasy crap and it is a terrible, terrible, terrible business to give your money to... but it has a time and place. Like when you're 9 and it's basically the only place you can hang out with your friends that you can afford. My problem with this McDonalds is their inability to give me a chocolate shake. EVER. I have literally been trying to get a chocolate shake on my way to work for like, 2 weeks. Complained to a manager but I'm pretty sure he understood about 0% of what I said to him. I had an onslaught of nostalgia (ah the days of skating and buying crappy food at Mickey Dees) which gave me a hankering for their not so great but not so terrible chocolate shakes so I figured I would pick one up. It turns out this is a lot easier said than done. Each and every time I go, I have to go in the morning and I pull up to the drive thru and order a shake. They repeat..."chocolate dkaljflakdjfakld" and I say "...CHOCOLATE SHAKE" and they are silent for a minute before telling me to pull around. I pull around and pay, look at my receipt and realize they rang me up for a HOT chocolate. They slam the window in my face so I have to pull up to the other window and they try and give me a hot chocolate. I resist because...1) It's a hot chocolate 2) It's like 1093 degrees out and 3)...It's a hot chocolate. When I point this out they disappear and come back to say, "No chocolate shake". And then disappear and then give me 2 bucks back- NEVER the tax that I literally paid them and slam the window on me. This slows down service BIG-time. Soon, a chaotic line with no defined symmetry develops, leaving people to wonder who's in line, and who's waiting for their order. Meanwhile, unmanned cash registers catch longing glances from frustrated customers pining to hear the blessed call "I can take the next person here!" But alas no, the registers remain empty, as you watch employees of mysterious rank performing non-food related tasks such as posting signs, making work schedules, posting ads, pics of Grimace, kicking the shake machine, and other activities that should be dropped the moment you see the lobby turning into McAnarchy.
