I mean, it might be Taco Bell, but that doesn't mean all expectations go out the window. I ordered two of my usual favorites: the Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes and a Chalupa Supreme. I also ordered one of their refreshers because Chicago summers are HOT! With the refresher, I accidentally ordered a frozen one. Credit to the staff for allowing my "whoopsie-doodle" and offering to switch to a different one. Since they only come in one size, and not wanting a sugar-bomb, I went for a fountain drink instead (diet option) The Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes were middle of the pack. Not fresh from the fryer, but not cold either; they seemed like they'd been sitting under a high-powered heat lamp instead. As for the Chalupa, this was towards the lower end of what I've had at Taco Bells. The tortilla wasn't toasted whatsoever, and the beef was notably goopy. What accentuated these problems is that this location didn't have salt and pepper, even upon request. In my experience, it's salt and pepper that help bring out the best in Taco Bell, not just the sauces (those are a close second). Without these basics, both the potatoes and chalupa were bland. What this place did have, however, are very high prices. It was downright sticker shock when I saw the chalupa was almost $7. For something this unsatisfying, it is basically highway robbery. In terms of service and staff, considering the Michelin guide isn't stopping by, it was generally good. It did take a little longer to get my food than I would have expected given how dead it was, but not outrageously so. Finally, regarding the location itself, things were clean, but the space was neither comfortable nor inviting. It looks like they'd started some kind of renovation and left it only a third done. Thus, while not horrible-terrible, the experience at this location was underwhelming. There's no shortage of Taco Bells in the Chicagoland area; thus, when the occasional craving strikes, this one will not get a return visit from me. read more

Driving by and had to get something to eat so I stopped here. Wow! I haven't been to Taco Bell in half a decade or more and I know prices have in general gone up but holy cow, they're expensive. And am I a jerk or would it be nice if you were even acknowledged rather than a bag just being handed to you? I know that isn't always the fault of the employees since they have to take orders whilst running the drive through, but... I didn't reduce this by any stars for that reason but it would be nice. It's a Taco Bell. 'Nuff said. Actually, I wanted to leave a brief review because I came here with my family after we bought a new car, to celebrate! (We needed to eat economically after just dropping so much coin... ;) ) The staff here were really kind and attentive to us, as the only people in the dining area. We started our order on the digital menu and ran into complications, so the staff helped us to transfer the order to the register so that they could help. The other thing was that the heat was turned way up, so we were super cozy from the 20 degree and windy elements outside. Last thing is that we are happy that Taco Bell continues to offer economical options, especially for our family of 5. Though they've had to increase the prices on many of their items (just as every other fast food chain), they still consistently offer a $5 combo option with plenty of food. Considering this Taco Bell is technically still in the city, it's a decent location all things considered. The beans are usually fresh and our orders are almost always right. And if not, we are able to have it fixed pretty quickly. I think we have only had one instance when the workers were rude but that is usually not the case. read more

Are there employees at this store? This location is hopeless, I have never received a correct order from them. On weekends, they don't even allow drive-ups, it's all delivery. This is very strange, because even only doing delivery, they make drivers wait 20-40 minutes, even on a Sunday night. I've had two drivers cancel because I'd ruined their night, stuck at Taco Bell where no one would help them or answer their questions. When I do get an order, It is never even close to being correct. I just got an order that left out 5 items and got what was there wrong. I'm worried DoorDash will stop processing refund requests, that's how bad this location is. I don't know how a location with this high a volume, in this good a location, could mismanage it so consistently for so long. Well, it is Taco Bell so I'm pretty confident everyone can relate to my review from the get go. I love Taco Bell and crave it all the time but only treat myself a few times a year. Was pretty excited for that day to come but was less than impressed with the outcome. First thing, they have the dining area roped off with hand sanitizer available. It was very clean and the the kiosks were in working order. Problem was, you order and pay via kiosk and then they told us they were out of nachos. They didn't offer to give credit back but asked if we wanted another taco. Little bummed, because we already ordered tacos, we said Ok. They brought us the drink we ordered and then put our order in the bag, left it on the counter and walked away. We then asked for sauce and napkins and they brought sauce and left. We waited and eventually flagged someone down and gave us napkins. We then went outside to sit at one of the Tables and they were pretty dirty. We found little spot and opened the bag to see our nacho replaced taco didn't make it. Figured no big deal, but then opened all our other items and they were about half full so we left hungry. Food was hot and obviously made to order but just rather incomplete. It's frustrating when Taco Bell's prices have increased so we paid $18 and were less than satisfied. Way to clean, but maybe display a sign if you can't update your kiosks if you're out of things. Of course I'll be back, because we can't stay away, but I'll always remember. read more

This used to be my favorite Taco Bell in the city but in the past year it's really fell off. Number one they stopped serving breakfast which is crazy because their giant ass sign is all about breakfast. Number two if you go to do a mobile order most of the time you are not able to get simple menu items like cheesy potatoes or a cheesy roll up. I really don't understand that because I know you have the ingredients for these items they are staples to the store. I've also had on multiple occasions my soda be just sparkling water. This location used to be my favorite but like I said for some reason they don't give a shit anymore. I had the most terrible experience ever. I didn't receive my chips and guacamole which I paid extra for, I didn't receive my burrito, and I got delivered the wrong freeze. I ordered the midnight freeze, and I got the strawberry freeze, which I do not like. I can't even touch it. On top of that, a cinnamon twist was in my nachos (i didn't order any cinnamon twists) which I ordered for my friend, but she is allergic to cinnamon so we had to throw the whole thing away. That could've been a deathly experience for her if she didn't notice. I also randomly received an avocado ranch sauce that I didn't order, it seems like my whole order is just a mess. I tried to contact the Taco Bell location, but they did not even respond the two times I called them and they were still open and not close to closing. Worst service I've ever seen. Once upon a time this used to be a legendary Taco Bell location. Back in my DePaul days around the early 2010s, this establishment had 1500+ reviews and a 5 star rating. You'd drive up, and in the most welcoming heart warming tone the employee would ask you how your day is. There was sincere politeness and care in them simply taking your order no matter the time or day. And they almost never got it wrong, if they did, going back around for your correct items would be a non-issue. Those days are long gone as it seems the original GM of that nostalgic time period has moved on. I thought this TB was forever going to be special in every way, but time has proved that to be wrong. We used mobile order and waited about one hour and no food was ready. Ended up getting food somewhere else. When I arrived there were 3 people waiting at the counter already and they looked annoyed. One dasher told me she was waiting for one hour. There were 2 workers on the line making food. 1 worker breaking down the other line and doing dishes. If you're swamped that's the last thing to do. That third employee should jump on the line and help finish the orders. It seems like the workers had no idea how to make the food and how to push out the orders. They only make drive through food. Don't bother ordering in or using the mobile app. I've worked for another location for 5 years and this is by far the most disorganized store. I hope the RGM (if they even have one) hires employees who get the job done. People are out there hire the right ones. I'd suggest getting rid of some of your current employees. One made racist comments towards a door dasher. She said no cheese no cupo de cheese. That's not even how you speak Spanish. She had a rude demeanor towards him. He was just asking how long will it be by showing the dashers order on his phone. She then yelled out loud to the lobby that she's got no food and about to shut down the store. Ok so shut down the drive thru and prioritize the app orders and the customers who already spent their money.
