Live in the neighborhood, love the food , but the service is unacceptable. After pre ordering 1.5 hours in advance , I arrived at the store to find a line of 30 customers. The manager was very rude , and told me I needed to stand in line for pick up . As a matter of fact at least half the line was pick up and no sandwiches were made ahead of time . The absolute worst fast food experience ever! I ended up getting a refund as I didn't have time to stand in line for an hour , which was the purpose of a customer pre- ordering . Could you wipe down your tables occasionally? I was here during a slow time 2:30pm and all tables dirty. I was here for an hour, no customers came in for a while yet no one wipes the tables. Worst service i've ever had. I walked in to pick up my online order and no one had any urgency whatsoever to make it. Mind you, I was the only person in the store. I got two regular-size roast beef subs with provolone, one for dinner and one for lunch the next day, and one bag of chips. The subs are super-skinny; you could count the slices of roast beef on the fingers of one hand. The bill for these three items? $26.30. Yes, I know food-price inflation is affecting everyone, but that is a RIDICULOUS amount to pay for a couple of okay-tasting sandwiches that aren't even slightly filling. Although the food tastes good here, we have had multiple customer service issues. Everything from them being completely out of bread, or out of wheat bread, to the 45 minute quoted wait time for an online order. The latter is ridiculous, I waited 20 minutes before going in to pick up just one sandwich, and it wasn't ready, despite no one being in line and only a few tickets up. Awful experience at this location. I ordered two subs on the app plus chips - fairly simple order, right? Well when I got home only one sub was in the bag. I suppose I should've noticed but the bag was stapled firmly shut (prob a covid protocol) and I just grabbed it and dropped it into my back pack as I had a long walk home. When I got home and noticed the lack of second sub I called, and they refunded me for that sub - cool! But then when it came time to eat the only one sub I received - it was plain. No toppings, no nothing. Wrong sub. Someone else's? I dunno - called back again and the person I spoke w seemed annoyed to be speaking with me again and said he'd refund that sub, too. Never happened and when I filed a complaint in the app they simply said this is a franchise location and they'd notify the franchise. It's a chain so one the one hand you know what you're getting but on the other hand, I feel like Jersey Mike's has somehow found a way to be special rather than generic. It's like the forgotten sub amongst the big boys of Subway, Potbelly, etc. The subs are honestly great. I always forget how good they are and then go on a binge of eating a couple in a few weeks and they're amazing. Then somehow I forget. Love the philly sub options. I was a bit disappointed in my online order last time as they messed up the toppings on my wife's cold sub, but the sub was still tasty and she just added some of her own mustard and lettuce. I also wish it was a more flexible online ordering - I love to put hot peppers on my hot sub but when you order a hot sub online, you can't add any jalapeno or toppings. Clean place with great customer service, but I think subs are little pricey when compared to competitors. Overall this place has been my favorite sandwich deli style shop for the past 2 years and hasn't failed me yet. It's family owned which is awesome and the family is incredibly considerate and sweet and always offer a few goodies if your stuck waiting. Just really genuine people. Back to the food, the food is incredible! I've had a few of the sandwiches and love them all but the Jersey Mike's Subs is my favorite. The coleslaw on it is so yummy! They pile on the meat and really give you your money's worth. Taking a stroll thru Lakeview doing some shopping I popped in for a cold beverage after I saw the sign in the window advertising some "craft" soft drinks. Sticking my head in, spot was not terribly busy on a weekday around noon. Sampled both of the sodas, Cream Soda and Root beer. My guess, manufactured by Pepsi under a different label as they were part of the dispenser. Cream soda was a tad bit overpowering. Root beer was better, delicious with a nicely balanced "bark" to it. Is it the fact that they cut their meats and cheeses deli-style on a rotary slicer for every sandwich they make? The hot sandwiches made to order on a grill? The fresh vegetables, tangy sauces and myriad ingredients they use every time I order? How about the smiles and friendly attitudes of employees that seem honestly happy to see customers? What about the cute interior--the wainscot around the walls, the wood floors, the subtle Jersey shore wall murals (no, not THAT Jersey Shore)? Is it the spotless men's room? How about the customer loyalty program and frequent email special offers? I think it's the quality of the ingredients and the glad-to-see-you welcome I get when I visit. When I ordered the gluten-free bread, every piece of equipment was wiped down and gloves were put on. Much Appreciated :) I had the #7 Turkey Breast & Provolone: 99% fat free turkey and provolone cheese. Simple and tasty. Tyler has the #13 The Original Italian: Provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni. Great combination of flavors. We had both served 'Mike's Way' with the oil and spices and when we got back to my place, surprised to find that they tasted good and did not go soggy at all. Both sandwiches were stacked full of meat, cheese, and condiments but the prices were a little too high. My Gluten-Free giant sub was $26.53 due to the bread and I added chips and a drink. The regular giant sub was $16.59. These prices are too steep for sub sandwiches, I think, so I probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

Was trying for a dinner I wanted for a night off cooking..I ordered a big Chicken Kahuna. Requested no jalepeno and assumed it was going to have chicken. Nope. Regular meat. I used to love me some JJs...but then I first tried Jersey Mike's when I moved to Chicago almost two years ago and haven't gone to another sub place since. Yes, it does take a little more time to make this magnificent sammy but that's because it's made with quality and love. They slice fresh meat and cheese for your sandwich right in front of you and take good care of it while gently putting on the goods. It's a magical process, you know. I usually order the ham and provolone with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles along with Mike's Way. I recommend Mike's Way, which is red wine vinegar, olive oil and oregano/whatever else is in their seasoning.
