The food is always good at McD's, but this parking lot is so poorly designed that you can't even get in the drive-through sometimes. You also can't back out of your parking space easily if there is drive-through traffic. So, make sure you park away from the drive-through. read more

This was a mixed experience. They had me stand in the wrong when there was clearly line to to have their customers adhear to social distancing. This location once wasn't bad though in the past few years and I left a previous good review, but seems in the past year it's just really went downhill. Yes I like my nuggets and burgers, but like many the fries are what makes me choose McDonald's. Most every time here for a while the fries have been cold and stale like or more as they were the other day and that's lukewarm and soggy. Drink that I got in the largest size was flat and syrup like. I ordered a quarter pounder and a Big Mac. Both came in quarter pounder boxes and one was made correctly, however my Big Mac the bottom burger was not the patty used for Big Mac but the quarter pounder and then the top bun to the middle bun was just plain. Being about 40 min from town it's not an easy fix for the person I purchased the meal for and I shouldn't have to go through my bag and dissemble the food to check for accuracy. The service at this location was a bit slow for how empty the restaurant was. The cashier was trying to run 2 cash registers at once and seemed overworked. I had not seen this before so I don't know if it was because they were short staffed or if there was a different reason for doing this. The staff was friendly and the food was made fresh. The floor of the restaurant was dirty and I had to walk around stuff on the floor to avoid getting it on my shoes. read more

This is a standard McDonald's. Nothing out of the norm. Went here on a early morning with a large group of people. We swarmed their lines and kept it long for quite some time. Despite that, they got our orders out as quickly as possible. I was able to sit down and eat within minutes. The lady who took my order was super friendly. read more

When I was in grad school... On a Sunday. At the drive-thru the woman on the speaker box couldn't hear exactly how many McNuggets we wanted. When we pulled up to pay, the first and only thing this black woman said to our car full of Vietnamese, Chinese, Taiwanese, and Filipino students was, "I don't speak Chinese." The smell of vomit was so incredibly overwhelming that I turned around and left immediately once I stepped foot inside the door. What is utterly confusing is the fact that there were probably 20 people inside who seemed completely OK with the vomit smell. The drive thru lady working Sat morning (Oct 31, 2015) literally called me a "dick" over the intercom because I forgot to say "large coffee" when upsizing and had to correct myself before i confirmed the order. She also used other random expletives while she was making the correction. Granted I was laughing my A$$ off listening to this with my wife, senior citizen aunt, and cousin as were they. It was certainly a memorable experience and one I look forward to sharing in the future. This is a standard McDonalds, the food was fine, coffee fine, it is what it is. Due to busy work schedules and never having time to make food at home or things come up, I often eat out. I can honestly say, NEVER have I had food poisoning. If I ate out, something may have upset my stomach but I am not one prone to puking or diarrhea. Well, I picked up lunch at this McDonalds location on Friday around noon. By 6pm, I had excruciating sharp pains that went from my stomach, to my chest, to my back for hours. I took some Tylenol and went to bed. 3am, I am up until 8am with the worst food poisoning symptoms possible. Being that the McDonalds was the only thing I ate yesterday other than some pop tarts for breakfast and salad I made from home, there is absolutely no doubt I received contaminated food from this location. This McDonalds has decent food and the front employees seem friendly enough but the managers are unconcerned and rude! When I was talk to roughly by an employee I asked to speak to the manager and she informed me she was the manager! I have never seen anyone act so unprofessionally! Come to find out, the guy standing next to her was a manager and he didn't try to intervene at all. He stood right there just staring off into space. Yuck! I went here as a pit stop on the way home from vacation. It was okay when i walked in and then it started going downhill. The employees didn't know what they were doing and my food was cold. My roommate and I used to come here everyday as poor college students. We lived off the dollar menu. The fact that we came here everyday and received the same low level of service is appalling. I worked at a fast food place during high school and I cannot believe these people are allowed to work here. They acted annoyed of customers, took their time taking orders and giving food, and would stop in the middle to have a conversation or finish talking with each other. Sometimes I'd be waiting in drive thru for 15 minutes because no one was at the window. And this was not during the lunch/dinner rush and we were the only car there. The people who work here are rude and make the most ignorant comments. Corporate should do something about this. read more

I just had a horrible experience at the Emmett street McDonald's. My family and I are visiting the UVA Pediatric Encouragement Feeding Program because our son has problems eating. The Encouragement eating program is based on the idea that children with feeding difficulties and or tube dependence need to be treated in an environment that exposes them to wellness and holistic treatment. He loves the Syrup from McDonald's and he eats this with his sausage biscuit and chicken nuggets. Things are limited to what he eats and he loves these things from McDonald's. We have eaten there two day's straight and the young lady (who stated she was a manager) at the drive thru treated my family and I really bad because we asked for an extra syrup. My son will only eat the syrup from McDonald's. My wife and I as parents would not mind paying for the extra syrup because we know that he will eat it. It is really unfair to receive that type of customer service when a mom and dad are just trying to make sure that their child eats what they like because he has a gastrostomy tube (also called a G-tube). Needless to say he does not eat a lot of things. It is a shame because once we left McDonald's I dropped my wife and son off at UVA and I felt sad and angry. Thanks McDonald's way to go!!
