COVID-19 Review Decided to get Friday lunch for family. This location offers drive thru and take out only. I ended up going inside to not wait for the drive thru line. Sit in area is closed. There are pieces of plastic covering the cash register areas. People were randomly coming in to use the bathroom. A few people tried to come in (to use the bathrooms) without masks and were promptly told they had to leave without having a mask on. 4 stars because altho the employees were wearing masks, some masks were lowered under the nose/ mouth. What's the point of wearing them (AROUND FOOD) if you're not going to wear the mask properly? My togo food was packaged well. Food was placed in a big bag with large sturdy togo box for the 2 drinks. I ordered at the sign, pulled around to an unlabeled window and the two people inside didn't even acknowledge me, just fooled around. So I pulled up to the pickup window, figuring I'd pay there. I was just handed food (I could've driven away with unpaid food!). I explained that I hadn't paid. He disappeared trying to figure out what to do. He and his manager eventually figured out my order and got it to me, but it was a few minutes. If you want fast and efficient, this drivethrough ain't it. I have been going here a year or so. I usually come to buy my roommate lunch and hang out with him. I'm a small business owner. And regardless if I'm a small business owner or not I'm a human. I've lived in Catonsville for over 2 decades and we occasionally will go through the drive-through. I don't know what has happened in the past 6 months, but more than half of the time, we are asked to pull forward because something is not ready. Today was one of those days. There was already somebody at the second window, so I pulled forward very close so the person behind me could pull around me. The person in front of me rejected whatever was brought to him at least twice. The last time the worker came out, he had my food. I was blocked in. He said I could make it. I said I could not. I should have said, "Please ask the man to move a little more forward." He replied several times, "You can make it." I was HIGHLY uncomfortable driving a car I don't normally drive. I could only go back about a foot and I had to put the front of my car out into the drive lane in order to further maneuver. Somebody flying by almost hit me. I did make it out and I will admit that I yelled something as I pulled out. Then all I heard was cackling and laughing by McDonalds' employees. Absolutely pathetic behavior. The employee should not have forced me to move if I was uncomfortable, then to actually laugh loudly? Those employees should be fired. I waited 11 hours before I posted so I could get over my anger. The worst. The "employees" were hanging out in a clump between the order counter and drive thru, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. One was even braiding another's hair around the food! We could have used the digital order penal but there were 5 of us, so to save time- insert eye-roll here- we went to the counter. This McDonald's is awful. Like.....one of the worst ever. It used to be good for the first couple of years that it was open but has gone downhill. The food is almost always old tasting or the order is just outright wrong. On top of the food being crappy (for a McDonald's where the food is already not outstanding), they also provide horrible customer service. They are rude and slow. This is definitely the best McDonald's in the area. The drive thru is open 24/7 here. They may not always be perfect, it's a McDonald's, but they are noticeably better than any other one around. The employees are friendly and our orders are always correct. This one is a little farther out of my way, the Wilkins location is closer, but I prefer to go to this one every time. They now have the new ordering screens inside, there are four of them, or rather two that are double sided. You place your order there, and it allows for more customization. You have the option to pay there with a credit card, it has a reader attached, or pay at the counter. It also has a space to scan your coupons from their mobile app. This is definitely my favorite location around, and I'll always choose this one. read more
