SCAMMERS!!!! SPEND YOUR MONEY ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!…read more They will tell you it takes 10 minutes and it takes half an hour - I had an excursion booked and couldn't waiting any longer, just to take your money!! I was staying at a hotel next door, WAITING to try this place. I came before it opened was told to come back at at 8. I had an excursion booked and was waiting on my shuttle at my hotel, I asked the blonde bartender how long it would be for 2 burritos, she assured me 5-10 minutes. She said she UNDERSTOOD I couldn't missed my shuttle for my trip and it would be fast!! By 8:30, my shuttle had arrived and I had to leave. I told the bartender I can't wait any longer and had to leave, she asked would I be coming back tonight after my excursion. I told her I would. When I came back at almost 9pm, I had to go back and forth with the manager about what happened. He said he understood about catching the shuttle and he had to make a call to his boss. After 45minutes of waiting and going back and forth, he said his boss checked the camera and I left even after waiting half an hour for 2 burritos, so I get no refund and no burritos!! I SHOWED HIM SCREEN SHOTS OF MY RECEIPT WITH THE TIME I was charged and the time I had to leave!!AND HE ACCUSED ME OF LYING SAYING I SHOULD'VE WAITED LONGER than half an hour, so he wouldn't help, just argue with me about why I left? I came back later that night thinking they would give me a burrito that I paid for!!! To go back and work and argue over something so frivolous, after THEIR EMPLOYEES misinformed me of the time it would take!!! If the PERSON YOU HAVE AT THE FRONT IS TELLING PEOPLE IT CAN BE MADE IN 5-10 minutes THATS WHAT SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED!!! They took my money and REFUSED THE COMPENSATE!! Then the manger accused me of lying - disgusting business and unprofessional management. Took my money and my food. Trash business. Unprofessional service. While we were arguing, other people weee complaining about their service too. If you're a tourist, DONT COME HERE!

Time: Mid-May 2022…read more Place: This is one of the dining reviews from my vacation at Emporio Resort in Cancun. I also left a review of my stay at the resort overall if anyone is interested! This is one of the dining options available to guests at Emporio. I did the all-inclusive package, so I have no insight on the individual pricing. This is a restaurant inside the Emporio Resort that is open for lunch (buffet) and dinner (a la carte). I went here for dinner on two nights. The interior of the place is really pretty and relaxing. There are floor to ceiling windows on one side of the restaurant and it had an overall theme of greenery and beige tones. It was a very pretty place to eat in! Service here was slower than at the other restaurants of this resort. COVID Precautions: patrons and staff were required to wear masks. Food: We only got starter bread one of the two nights we ate there. The bread was soft and warm, and the butter made it all the better! Crab soup: I don't remember the actual menu name of this. This was my least favorite item. It was more of a broth than soup and it was just salty rather than having any rich flavor. The crab itself looked nice, but there was no crab meat to eat. The carrots were good, but that's about it. Ceviche: This dish was the same as the one from the Cantina, but the presentation was better. Ceviche from both places were very good! The fish was partially cooked, which is preferred anyways since raw food sounds a little risky while in Cancun. The ceviche is the perfect level of sour to make it taste fresh with the veggies. Steak: I ordered medium rare for both times. The taste was amazing and the steak was soft and juicy. I'd recommend getting it a little more well done because my stomach was kind of upset after the second time I ate there. They have a nice, saucy broth from the steak to color the mashed potatoes. The fried onions were also pretty yummy, but nothing spectacular. This and salmon were my favorite dishes (I got these both nights haha). Salmon: Delicious! The fish was so fresh and very quality, as it split without a fuss and naturally at the muscle fissures. The coloring was a nice, light pink. The taste was also amazing! Perfectly salted and not overpowered by the green sauce. The green sauce was slightly creamy and nutty, and paired so well with the salmon and veggies. The veggies had a fun presentation, but they were just steamed and grilled normally so it was nothing mind-blowing. Overall, the food here is really good and it made me wish I had a larger appetite so I could eat at both the buffet and here! This place satisfied my craving for a good steak! I highly recommend trying this place out at least once during your stay here. Tip: a group of servers sing and bring out a special slice of cake for you if it is your birthday!

"Meanwhile, have another beer What would we do without all…read morethese jerks anyway? Besides, all our friends are here Down at the Sunset Grill" (Sunset Grill -Don Henley) Sunset Grill is a very small snack bar located on the patio near the hotel's main pool. It's more or less self service, they have some prepackaged wraps and sandwiches lined up for you to grab, or you can go down a cafeteria line, scoop up a roll, a burger, a hot dog, fried chicken, or a veggie patty, nacho chips, then trick them out with lettuce, tomato, onion, pico, guacamole, and some kick-ass hot marinated peppers. The menu is very kid friendly, so it definitely has a niche if you are here with the kiddies.

All-in-all it was worth the inconvenience. Very eclectic menu, warm atmosphere and outstanding service. I started withe the Mango-Tamarind: Lettuce, Indian walnut, mango, blueberries, Cotija cheese, mango-habanero dressing and tamarind billet. Unique and tasty. "Swiss Chicken Enchiladas" for the main course was not what you get at a local Mexican joint -- Four tortillas stuffed with chicken, bathed in a creamy tomatillo sauce with melted cheese and a base of refried black beans. This was a 5-star dish! I couldn't resist ordering a side dish though I didn't need to because the enchiladas were really enough, so I indulged myself with fries: these were not your run of the mill French fries. Porfirio's Potatoes -- French fries with chipotle pepper aioli, parmesan cheese and parsley. Finally, if you like ice cream I highly recommend that you order BOTH offerings: 1) "ICE CREAM TASTING" - Strawberry ice cream, chocolate ice cream from Metate, marzipan ice cream and vanilla from Papantla. Served with grated coconut, chocolate grain, M&M's, Oreo cookies and ice cream cones; and, 2) "PORFIRIO'S MOLECULAR ICE CREAM" - served with cajeta Worcestershire sauce in an ice cream cone. (I know it sounds disgusting right? Nope it worked. The chef is just showing off with this dish)

I took some notes and this is what I thought of the dishes. Xoajacan Imoladas - The mole is perfection. The flautas, superb. Everything in this plate is a symphony of what I would expect from Xoajaca. 9.5/10 Barbacoa Bonemarrow - Barcacoa is on point. The Marrow is Sublime. Together with the accompaniments is superb. I dream of Marrow everyday. This is a 10/10 Yellow fin Tosatadas - Superb!!! One of the best tostadas I have ever had. The microgreens, the sauce and the square Tostada works well all together. 8.8/10 Salmon - Cooked perfectly. The corn is a great accompaniment. The fish is impeccably seasoned. This dish is heaven sent with a 9.8/10 Grilled Octopus - Grilled perfectly, I can tell by the texture. The mash is superb, they used margarine instead of butter and I absolutely love the contrast from the traditional mash. 9.8/10 Mexican Rice - Its pretty good. It does have a nice seafoodish finish. The pepper was actually spicy. Nice and pleasant rice dish. 8/10 Charred Avocado Salad - Grilled avocado is a bit of a wash. It did make it look good on the plate. The dressing is a little weak. Needs a little more zip, some citrus or vinegar would give this salad some justice. Its a little uninspired 7/10 Service is impeccable and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely.

Especially if you are from the US, and visiting this hot and very humid city without any roaming data. We walked about 20 minutes to a bus stop from Mercado 28. We were just dripping wet. It was THAT hot and humid. We took the bus back to hotel zone and we were standing almost the whole time. The bus was packed and EVEN HOTTER. Getting into this McDonald's was just what we needed. It was cool and refreshing; the staff was polite and spoke good English, and voila, free wifi! Time to search on Yelp what's for dinner! I did like the tiny stall just for washing hands. There was one bathroom available at the corner, which I did not use. We shared a large crispy chicken sandwich meal - Pollo Tocino - for 99 pesos. Fries were not as warm, and the sandwich looked smaller than US size. The chicken patty was also thinner, and the bacon was miniscule. BUT. We were not sweating, and were seated. And not getting kicked out any time soon.

They make their own tortilla chips fresh every single day, they have some awesome choices of food, and the restaurant is bright eyed and bushy tailed. How can a restaurant be like that, you say? Well, let's just say the workers are happy and helpful and the decor is fun and upbeat--making it a pleasant place to spend your afternoon. I ordered the chicken burrito and my mother tried the nachos grandes. Both were a home run! The burrito was so good, be sure to smother it in some of the home made salsa as well as the guacamole and sour cream. The next day (yeah, sorry not sorry, we definitely went back) we got the enchiladas and shrimp tacos. The tacos were heaven sent, with cabbage and some sort of mustard sauce complimenting the flavor of the fish. I'm definitely going back for a third time before I go back to the good old USA and the not-so-good old reality. TIPS & TRICKS: * Just tell them to "keep the chips and salsa coming" trust me, you'll want buckets of that stuff. * They have a big photo of "How to Eat Tacos" and you'll want to practice because you won't know you've been doing it wrong all these years.
