Cool spot that looks like it was redeveloped from an old auto shop into a multi-tenant restaurant…read moreplaza. Tiny parking lot with entry on Alpine and exit on Latah. You'll probably have to either parallel street park or try a vacant lot across the street that had a sign stating it was ok to park there as of Aug 2026. Order at the register and they give you a buzzer. Go get it from the counter when it goes off. Indoor and outdoor seating. Fast and friendly service. We tried the wyld style burger (favorite), wyld style chicken sandwich, fries, sweet potato waffle fries, and orange crush slushie. Fries come with one sauce each. Everything was great and it was a good quantity to feed our family of four, which includes two adults, 4 yr old and 2 yr old.

Right off the bat the place was busy. That's always a good sign…read more Both my husband and I ordered the classic burger with sweet potato waffle fries (pictured). My son had the kid's chicken tenders, which was just their crispy chicken cut into strips. The waffle fries were perfect. Just the right amount of crunchy and the taste...so good. The burger was good but I didn't find it amazing. My husband on the other hand devoured his and declared it "good." Coming from out of town, Wyld Child was a great introduction to what Boise offered.

Central/South America landscapers or construction workers. Their presence is a very good sign! 2. A salsa bar with carrots and jalapenos in addition to at least four salsa coices. 3. The meat selection and specifically lengua, cow tongue. If att three are present, you are in for a really good meal. Sadly, none of the three were found, but they did gave fish tacos, which I ordered along with a Mexican Coke. While they didn't have hirchata, they did have an acceptable variety of appropriate Mexican drinks. I always start a plate by trying the rice and beans. If you can't get these right, there is little hope for anything else. While both the rice and beans were the right texture, neither under or over cooked, but I must note that the rice was not fried before being prepared, it was too fluffy. We always fry the rice at home before adding liquids to it. They were also on the bland side. The rice needs significantly more spice, the beans need a little roasted jalapeno and a little farm cheese on top. This would take them from okay to good, maybe even great! The tacos, first thing I looked for was if there was cabbage or lettuce. Lettuce if fine for most other meats, but cabbage is absolutely essential to the correct flavor profile. Also noted were cillantro and a little sauce. Sadly there is no salsa bar or else I'd have put some tomatillo salsa on them. I wasn't asked if I wanted salsa when I picked up my order. They use flour tortillas and while their flour tortillas were good, tasted at least locally made if not onsite, I expect corn. This feels like a somewhat authentic Mexican restaurant but toned down for the local Idaho pallet. Having lived in three of the four southern border states, and eaten in all four, and being married to a Mexican for forty years, I tend to look for the three things I mentioned, so will leave this place for the local, heat and spice averse diners.

The menu board read vinegar but we had mayo and mustard and a pickle slice. Maybe the gal got mixed up. The sandwich was good on the white bread roll. The employees are nice. Lunch for two at $20 is pretty good these days.

But don't get pigeon holed into just getting a sammi, because Hugos got some pressure fried deli fries and chicken that will knock your socks off. Seriously though, it's the deli fries that will keep you coming back, with that house ketchup. They are like individual lightly breaded godesses..true entities of divine beauty. Coupled with their solid sammis it's hard to beat when looking for a local spot. I mean who leaves their Nonni's and doesn't wanna come back. So get over there, show em some love, and eat up Boise.

We were close to the area and we finally were able to visit and I'm sure glad we did. The restaurant is located in a nice shopping center on the corner of Eagle and Overland, immediately on the other side of 84. The location is nestled towards the back of the center and can easily be missed as it's tucked in the corner of a small lot. We were greeted with a huge smile and swift seating to a booth in the larger dining room area. Even though it was barely 11:30 am on a Saturday, the dining room was already filling with hungry customers and the kitchen was notably bustling. We had Kaitlyn as our server. She arrived with a sunny disposition and eagerness to get our orders going. Downside, due to cost, tomatoes are not available. I have to say, that kind of broke my heart a little...tomatoes, in my eyes, are a requirement for every burger. I ordered the Bleu Bacon single burger and hubby had the cheeseburger. We ordered a small fry (1/2 pound) for us to share. Food did take quite a while to come out, but our server did come by several times to check on us, refill drinks, and give us updates (apparently a large to-go order backlogged the kitchen). The burgers came out first. I was a little underwhelmed with the small burger plate and cheese that was obviously cold when added to the burger and had become a tad sweaty from being steamed instead of melted. I had little hope....but then I took my first bite. The Kaiser hamburger bun was soft, burger patty was nicely seasoned and the bleu cheese was punchy without being overwhelming. The bacon sung through. The fries quickly followed. We were surprised by the home cut style, thick and irregular...rustic and perfectly cooked. These suckers are huge. But with every fry, it was crunch-tender on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I really enjoyed our visit, but the place seemed to be a little understaffed. Several tables had plates stacked or cleaning supplies atop the tables. That aside, service was attentive and the food tasted great, even without the tomatoes.

For my $3, I got my initial fill of a the highly bragged about bottomless soft drink and that was it. No refill, no offer of a refill, nothing. I never saw our server again. Someone slapped our bill onto the table with someone else's credit card attached so we had to wait to get that fixed. No apology, just nothing. There were several people working in the front so I have no idea what the lack of service, presence and accuracy was About, but they fell way short.
