Super crowded on a Friday Night. Was there for a private party in the back and had to walk through crowded bar to get there- was treated rudely by "regulars" who didn't want our group to walk through bar and interrupt them. Sister was greeted loudly with "Ugh. Somebody brought kids" when she was trying to get through bar area. Once we got to our party everything was great- friendly staff, decent food, great drinks. Just was caught off guard by initial "greeting"... If you aren't a regular, but wanna get in on weekend, just be prepared. read more

Great selection of local beer on tap, fish fry was very good , and so was our appetizer of deep fried green beans. I would give 5 stars but the smokers hanging out in front is a negative and the smell lingers as they come and go read more

Enough of the "paid" reviews. I have driven by this place a couple of times since it opened. Well, I decided to bring my kids for a dinner. Don't set the bar to high if you've had high end Irish-American style food before. The kids menu is Chicken Nuggets(Dinosaur shaped ones; Tyson perhaps), Grilled Cheese or a Kids sized Shepard's Pie(if your kids aren't picky). The entree's are around $13/ea and seem to be the only thing that they might take some pride in(although I didn't have one). I had a Reuben sandwich that would have been around $6 worth at any other local diner. The "kettle chips" are just bulk bagged chips(No attempt at making them in house). I tried the Beer/Cheese dip(with those kettle chips and "vegetables" READ: Plural) appetizer. Don't expect some creamy fondue type dip. It was lumpy and fairly unattractive. And those "Veggies" were 3 finger sized pieces of carrot. This place should have skipped the food and used the area to extend the bar space and more room for the entertainment. They did have a great selection of beers and scotches, but again the prices seemed a bit much. Service was on par with a newly hired chain restaurant server. Reading everything from the order ticket pad, and failed to mention the specials. This was on a Saturday night around 6pm. read more

This place is great! I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. A fun pub on the canal in Spencerport. We came here on a weeknight to catch up with some friends. It was pretty quiet. The staff and bartender were welcoming. The place is clean and much bigger than it appears with a back room and second bar. We ordered the Chicken Spiedie sandwich and the Shamrock Burger (special) and were pleasantly surprised. So much better than expected. Full of flavor. Great comfort food. Definitely order a side of coleslaw or the artichoke potato salad. The food is filling with an emphasis on fresh ingredients. My friends ordered the Chocolate Porter and the Biscotti Stout, which they raved about. They also said that this place knows how to pour a Guinness. Overall, a very cool place to hang out with varied beverage and food selection. read more

Fantastic New Place, Menu grows everyday. Authentic Irish food, with an English flair. Great Beer Selection and a wide array of scotch's. cool inside, owner did a ton of work. Very nice atmosphere. read more

My fiancé and I loved this place when we dropped in for a late night dinner after running errands. This was our first visit, but the food and service were both good enough to warrant a review. We were first met with the regular dinner menu, a specials menu, and a draught menu. The first thing we noticed was the good variety of options not typically offered at most similar establishments. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is very quaint, rustic, and cozy. We gave this place 5 stars because we went here looking for casual, decent bar food, and with that expectation, the food was great. It's often difficult to find bar food like this that wasn't pulled out of a box from the freezer and thrown in the fryer, and the menu seemed to be just traditional-enough while still adding a fresh twist to things. We had the Cajun breaded catfish entree and the Friday night Rorabach Fish fry special, and both exceeded our expectations. Both were very good for pub fare and seemed to be a step above the standard. We wanted to try their other options like the veggie burger and goat cheese salad as well, but it was hard to choose. Perhaps we'll get to those next time. We tend to frequent more "foodie" type establishments in the city, but are already planning to come back here to try their other menu items since we liked the casual atmosphere, good food and menu options, and friendly staff so much. read more

Had the Ruben sandwich which was real corned beef brisket, not deli meat, on a beautiful rye. Asked for a side of home made corned beef hash and was not disappointed. Best I ever had! Mentioned to our server it was so good I wished I had ordered the hash & eggs plate and she came out with a to go box with hash, two eggs & toast!!!! Amazed at that still. read more

Food here is delicious and the service is super friendly and so accommodating! One Friday night while enjoying fish fries we commented on how yummy and different the coleslaw was. Our server brought the chef out who shared his secret ingredient and brought us another serving of it! Shepherds pie is amazing too! read more

A true hidden gem. I had no idea Spencerport had a restaurant with a top rate beer list and fantastic food! This is definitely going to be a regular restaurant for us now. The beers are all truly craft and the variety is great. From hoppy to stouts to sours to seasonals, they had a great choice for everything. read more

I don't normally care for their small menu but their Specials are always amazing. Had a great stuffed haddock tonight. I was not expecting it to be nearly as delicious as it was! Atmosphere is always great! read more

This was my second visit. Very disturbing to not have an on tap beer special. Super shocked to have a Stone's IPA cost over $6. Even Genny Light in a can is $3.50. The first visit at least had a Genny Bock can for $2.50. Our bill for 2 dinners and 2 beers each was $51. The food was good, but expensive. I would much prefer Rohrbachs where my bill is about $35 for 2 meals and 2 beers each, with their own beers. Kind of disappointed and probably now will not be back. Very nice location and cute place, though. Had to visit it at least once, but sorry I visited twice. read more

There are other Irish Pubs and Brew Pubs in the Rochester area with larger menus, better food, and larger draft beer selections. Not impressed when I'm presented a large list of "bottled" beers. read more

Went for lunch, nice to have a pub with vegetarian dishes on purpose, the vegetarian Reuben was great! The local hard cider was just as tasty. The service was friendly and welcoming. Good reason to visit Spencerport! read more

Great spot here in Spencerport. Thanksgiving Turkey sandwich one of my favorites. Good craft beer new choices each week. Owner Matt Brooks is a wonderful proprietor with Jules and her team. Like an extended family. We visit several times per month. read more

Food took forever to arrive and the waitress kept mixing up our orders. I ordered a garbage plate which was only passable. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because the environment is cool and the beer selection was good read more

I tried this bar over the summer for after a long walk down the canal path with my husband. The staff were friendly and outgoing. They seemed knowledgeable about the beers on tap. And our server recommended the burger of the week. The burger was overcooked and dry and unfortunately did not meet my expectations. My husband ordered the fish fry. The batter was soggy and it was coated in lemon pepper seasoning. He barely ate it. Although I enjoyed the service, we vowed never to eat there again. Against my wishes, we met some friends there for dinner the other night. The atmosphere has changed. What we're once friendly, smiling, energetic young ladies behind the bar are now slow, unwelcoming, and odd staff with no personality. I decided to stick to the pub pretzels which were okay (hard to mess up). However, again, the food was not up to par with what i would expect for the price. My friend got the chicken salad and it was over seasoned and dry. Our husbands tried the rodeo burger and again, they were over cooked and lacked flair. Unfortunately, this is a bar that will not receive our patronage. At least we can say we gave it a second chance! read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! I go with family, friends and by myself. The sweet potato wedges are reason enough for me to go there. The strawberry lem-earl-nade is awesome as well with or without liquor if you stop in during your lunch hour! read more

Really nice all around pub. When i went last night there was a band which is cool, however this also jammed up the front area a bit. No worries though because they have a second bar in the back which is almost like its own bar, and where the darts are.The decor is well done, it has a rustic feel with some unique and cool use of natural wood/driftwood. They let us reserve the back room for a friends party, and we had a great time with good service ! read more

We hadn't been here since it opened but went to try the fish fry. It was excellent but pretty pricey for a piece of fish the size of a deck of cards. $9.50 for small fish fry when the same price anywhere else is full size. I wondered what the full size would be. When we went in the place was almost empty but quickly filled and became too noisy for us to carry on a conversation. Two small fish fries, a glass of wine and a beer plus tip came to over $40 which seemed pretty expensive. I'd go back to try the reuben which I hear is fantastic but probably not the fish fry. read more

I came here for the bangers and mash after having that same dish in Dublin this past August. I was disappointed and so was my 16 year-old son who ordered the same dish. The "soft" sausage was too soft and tasted like it was filled with bread and not meat, it did not have any taste of meat or consistancy of meat. I was expecting a harder, more meat-like sausage to contrast the softness of the mash itself. The Guiness gravy was grey and did not have the sweet taste that comes from the added beer. My experience with this beer gravy is an amber color with a robust sweet taste. The speedie chicken and sweet potato Ruben were both enjoyed by others in our group. Also it was a bit chilly in the center dining area as we all ate with our coats on and, yes, we are used to cold as we keep our house at 66. I did like the service and atmosphere, very authentic, but I would just make a few improvements in the bangers and mash dish. read more
